I found out I have Candida and tried to kill it way too fast and made myself extremely sick. I have been off the diet for a couple of weeks now, and just started it again yesterday. Also, started the yeast killers again, but much slower and not so many this time. Hopefully, I will make it completely through this time around. I discovered being gone, that I didn't have any one to ask questions to! I have had several questions in preparing to get back on this woe, and decided I better get back on the list to glean what I could from you all. Hope I can be of help too. If I don't write or answer someone, it means I am feeling really bad and not at my 'puter. I am also trying to cope with 3 other medical problems, so I have a full plate so to speak. Finally tried the ON Protein Pwd. It's really good, but salty. Going to try the donut recipe with it. Liz † The reward of a thing well done is to have done it. I don't want anyone to get the impression it was Atkins at fault. It was the over abundance of supplements to kill the yeasties. Die-off was really bad. One of the awful parts of it was the sugar cravings. They were so bad that it made me physically sick. I found out later that it was because of the starving yeast. I went off the atkins to feed them! I had to because I was feeling like my husband needed to call the funeral home and make arrangements. I just couldn't handle it, so I ate my way through 2 weeks of carbs. I started to feel better, but I knew it was only for the moment. So now, I am beginning again, with a better plan. Atkins is still the woe of choice. Guest guest
Hi, I have been on Atkins/Protein Power since March and have lost 21 pounds. Things are slow going this summer. This is the best diet I've been on, though. >
Guest guest
Hi Sue! My name is Hal. I started the Atkin diet the first of January and have lost 47 lbs. I still need to lose 4 or 5 lbs. but at this point I'm in no hurry. My problem now will be to keep it off. My diet has consisted mostly of eggs, meat and cheese and I imagine it will have to remain my basic diet in order to keep the weight off. I think it's a great way to lose weight and I feel much better. Look forward to discussing the diet with other people. Regards, Hal
