I have experimented enough to know the above is simply not true for me. I need much more protein than those guidelines allow for. Everybody is different. Metabolic Typing is all about finding one's basic metabolic type, and finetuning from there to individualize an optimal eating plan for improving health. It is the fine tuning that is proving difficult. sol
Guest guest
I should buy that book as nutrition interests me very much. I have always tried to eat about 50 grams of protein/day and that seems to work well for me. I used those guidelines that went on your weight and activity level. I don't eat fruit except berries because they are supposedly low glycemic and I don't have problems with them that I can tell. Have you tried berries? I would guess that you have! When I try to cut carbs to JUST very low gycemic veggies, I do not do well! I need SOMETHING more, whether it's a yam or some whole grains, even just a couple slice of sprouted Ezekiel bread or some old fashioned oatmeal, or I get terrible carb cravings and don't feel right. I was like you -- trial and error. I also find I can get by on less carbs in the day and eat most of them with dinnner. This is probably not the best for my blood sugar, but I do eat low gylcemic carbs, so maybe that is why it hasn't caused me any troubles that I'm aware of. Plus, I always eat some of my potein first at dinner. Kathleen > > I craved carbs MORE on Atkins, I swear, and couldn't stay on it, > > either.
