Guest guest
My husband Bob had brachytherapy in September 2007. This followed acourse of five weeks of external beam radiation and was followed threemonths later by 5 more days of radiation. His results appear to bevery positive, PSA currently at .17, 18 months after treatment. Hehad no incontinence and felt pretty good throughout the process(although he had the benefit of being retired!) and is feeling greattoday, out there chopping wood and hacking ice off the roof. Hi: Just graduated from my two months radiation treatment yesterday and don't feel any different today than I did at the start. Hope for the best. Bye Emile Need a job? Guest guest
Hi Emile, Happy to hear your treatment is over and went so well for you. I cracked the same joke as Alan with my radiotherapy nuses i.e. were they sure they'd turned on the machine, as I also felt the same as before treatment. Don't forget though to take care of yourself and to take it easy for the next couple of months if you can, as your body is going through fairly major trauma as it deals with your dying prostate cells over the next few weeks. Best of health, Hi Chris: Thanks for the wishes............ At 73, when I started this, I was told not to worry because at my age I stood a better chance of dying from something else rather than my PC. I also had a very low Testosterone level and that did not appear to help me avoid PC. Now that my PC appears to be looked after, I plan to get concerned with treatment for those other things that they feel are more dangerous. I'm concerned with heart conditioning, prevention of muscle and bone losses, and dealing with my masculine identification. So, Feb. 26/09 I see a specialist in hormone treatments who will help me get my testosterone back up to a more appropriate level. My strongest reference is Abraham Morgentaler, MD. Harvard Medical School. References are all over the Internet Bye. Emile Need a job? Find an employment agency near you.
