My name is Janet. I am a teacher (high school English). I am 51 years

old and I decided it was time to take care of myself so I started doing

ww in May and I have lost 24 lbs to date. I have been averaging 5 lbs a

month or so. I have quite a bit to go but I love the point system

because I don't have to deny myself anything.

I guess I'd love it if the weight just melted off but I am having to

work at it! I will share with everyone a fear I have...

At the end of this month my husband and I are going with four other

couples on a cruise. Our first and I have heard horror stories on

weight gain.

Any ideas or suggestions from any of you?

work at it! I will share with everyone a fear I have...

At the end of this month my husband and I are going with four other

couples on a cruise. Our first and I have heard horror stories on

Welcome Janet!

I agree with you the point system is great. It has made this time on WW much easier. My hubby is eating most of the same things I am also. It has really helped his blood sugar! He's diabetic and the Dr. threatened him 10 weeks ago with having to go on insulin if he couldn't get it down. I am so pleased to say not only is it down, but the doctor had to cut out 2 of his pills a day because his sugar was dropping so low.

Lois,

That sounds like us. Jim (my hubby) is also type II diabetic and his

sugar is way down also. Insulin wasn't a threat yet but he is on

medication.

Hi, I just joined this group. I really don't know how to get around and go to different sites (such as recipes) here. Any suggestions? I have been a ww member since ll/00 and I have lost 30.5 lbs. I became a lifetime member July 17, 2001 and have maintained or been under goal since that time. I am always interested in new recipes and meeting and chatting with other people . Yes...think before you eat anything...look it over and then make a mental plan. Walk the deck several times a day. It helps ! YOU CAN DO IT. My first cruise years ago I gain 11 lbs. This last cruise 0 lbs gained.....
