Try and send in EXACTLY what went into your mouth the last 2 days bob.

Food, drink, supplements. Give quantities where you can and put down how

many carbs you think each thing has. We might be able to make some useful

suggestions if we can see what you are doing and whether you have any

misconceptions. It's a little work on your part, but hopefully we can then

help you out :)

You might want to lose the Gin for a few days and see what happens. Even

though hard liquor only has trace carbs, the calories from the alcohol still

must be metabolized before you start burning fat again.

No veggies! I'm a firm believer that veggies are key to long term success.

They give needed vitamins and minerals, fiber, and add variety to our diets.

Are you taking any supplements? You need to stay healthy!

For your weight and goal, the popular rule of thumb says you need to be

drinking about 9 x 8 oz. glasses of water each day.

Your menu seems like you should be ok, but obviously something isn't

working. It could be that you are very close to goal anyways, so you may

not see dramatic weight loss. Hard to say. Many of us find that we have to

tweak Atkins to make it work. My advice would be to add some veggies - at

least a salad a day, make sure you are drinking your water and lose the

booze. Try that for a week and see what the scales do. Also, make sure you

are at least taking a mult-vitamin a day to stay healthy.

Those are just my opinions and I'm sure you'll get a bunch of differing

ones. Weed through them and try and find things that work for you :)

Alcohol doesn't seem to impede my weight loss, but having no vegetables definitely does.........

The gin was what stood out for me, too.

Good luck.

Bob,

I have two suggestions. #1 -- write back and tell us what, exactly, you are

eating and drinking so we can perhaps find some trouble spot for you.

#2 -- just keep it up and be patient. It doesn't always happen quickly, but

it does happen.

Bob,

First, to do a strict induction would require that you have meat or other

protein, 2 small salads per day, full fat dressings, other fats as you can

work them in, and no more than 2/3 cup of cooked low carb vegetable. And no

alcohol of any kind. At all. The gin will have to go. I suspect it might

be keeping you out of ketosis.

And you need to drink lots of water to stay hydrated.

Why don't you try that for two weeks, a true induction. I bet you'll find

that you do go into ketosis and you do lose weight.

BTW - I've never drank on induction (that I can remember) and I don't drink as regularly as you. Maybe you should abstain from the gin for awhile?

thanks for all the constructive comments. the only other thing i'm

doing is sugar-free metamucil, i tsp. in a full glass of water once

or twice per day, 5 carbs per tsp. i feel i need it since my " habits "

are very, very different than before i started the diet. any other

suggestions about the change in regularity, which is no longer

regular?

thanks again,

bob

Irregularity problems usually work themselves out, so to speak. And that's

why you need to get those salads and other veggies into your meals each day.

Personally, I never had any irregularity problems, but others have reported

a problem at first that did remedy itself after adjusting to the WOE.

It's quite a shock to our poor old bodies, I suppose.
