Guest guest
Hi , Good for you to join for your girlfriend. I hope she is receptive to the information you learn. This is a great group of people who support each other. There are some good web sites that explain FMS/CFS too. I always recommend a book called "Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome, A Survival Guide". It's a big blue book and has tons of information. Even chapters for family and friends and co-workers. You can't go wrong with this book. Information empowers us! Kathleen

Guest guest
, I can certainly relate to what you're saying. I go to a gym regularly and can easily see how a young person working there could develop eating problems. Seeing so many super-fit women in one place feeds into the feelings of inferiority I have about my own body. I go because for me there are good points about being able to exercise there that outweigh the bad points, but I think if I had worked there as a young woman, it would have affected me the same way. I, too, would like to be free of the whole dieting/body obsession syndrome, and I think together we can do it! Sue Portland, Maine, US missymo421 wrote: Hi All! I'm and am new.. this is actually the first yahoo group I've joined. I'm 38 and have been dieting for the past 20 years. I worked at a fitness club from the time I was 18 until I was 24 and developed disordered eating. I'm always thinking about trying to eat clean and lose bodyfat. I'm constantly taking "before" pictures for Body-for- Life and have thought about doing a figure contest. The problem is I don't think this is very realistic. I think you have to have disordered eating in order to do that stuff. I'm trying IE (again!). I think I'm ready to be free now and am glad I found some support. If anyone can relate to my story, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

Guest guest
Hello, I decided to try this instead of going on my next diet. I am 39 and have struggled with the diet/binge cycle now since 9th grade. Although somehow I still manage to be only 15 lbs overweight it is always on my mind and effects me deeply. I go from conscious eating one day to the next eating like I will never have an opportunity again. I know I need help. *********************************************************************** I was hoping to find a mentor from the group. Someone who is recovered and can help guide me throught this process. Any takers? ***********************************************************************
