Bonnie,

I've been buying mine at GNC or at our local grocery store.

Hi Everyone,

I'm interested in taking ZMA Fuel & sublingual B-12. Could someone tell

me

where I can purchase them? I've tried Wal-Mart & Meijer. I had my surgery

August 3, 2000 and have lost 90 lbs. so far. After I got to the 5 month

mark, my weight loss slowed to 3-4 lbs. a month. But as long as it still

comes off I'm happy. Thanks for your help.

Sublingual means under the tongue. It dissolves in a couple of minutes.

Sublingual is the kind that melts and is absorbed under your tongue through the

mucus membranes. It can be liquid, or dissolving tablets. The GNC kind are

cherry flavored and quite tasty. The liquids I have tried tasted like cod liver

oil!

B12 is not absorbed in the stomach, hence sublingual, or shots is the way to go.

Bonnie,

I get the ZMA Fuel at Wal-Mart... the brand is Twin-Lab, ask the

Pharmacist and she/he should be able to point you to it. I ordered

the B-12 from RX.com, but I thought I read where some post-ops got it

at GNC.

Hope this helps.

Sublingual means the tablet is placed under the tongue

to melt there and its absorbed faster that way.

nothing else added just different route of taking the

medicine.

Taking many meds sublingual can increase the bioavailability.

We use halcion as a sedative for apprehensive patients in our office. We

ask them to take the halcion sublingual as it increases the bioavailability

by 20%. Perhaps the same holds true for B-12.

I have no idea if it might make you balder. :-)

Well, what a dummy I am! Guess I just wasted my money with the B-12 I

bought. I just bought the regular pills. Is there even any need in me

taking them? I didn't see any " sublingual " at Wal-Mart, but I'll ask the

pharmacist about it next time I'm there. Thanks for the information to all

who replied.

Hello....in response to the pain in your stomach I too have had pain with an

inability to eat anything solid since I had my MGB in December. My one

salvation has been high potency liquid vitamins and minerals from Akins

Health Food Store. Not sure where you are from but I bet you have a health

food store close by. Again these really work and give lots of energy. Hope

this helps!

I'm having the same problem right now. I can only take one vitamin

a day. Dr R and I are talking about it right now via email... I'll

be sure to let you know what he says, and I would suggest emailing

him also Dr_Rutledge @ clos.net.

, I take the Muti 2000 with Herbs from Sam's Club or the One Source and

if they give me a tummy ache I just chew a couple of Tums and that makes it

go away immediately. Might be worth a try. Good Luck!

Id message the doctor but Dr R was specific about no

childrens vitamins...Are you taking actigall? that

gave me problems big time....I had to stop and restart

about three times then just stopped and gave

up....sever abdominal pain is a side effect of it.

The childrens vits dont have enough of what you

need...you would have to take about 40 a day

Good luck

I'd call, page Dr R and certainly see your PCP ASAP. You should be

able to eat 7 months post op!

Hi ,

I have had the same problems, over and over again.

I know that doctor says not to take the childrens vitamins, but I

have been taking them now anyways. I cannot take the ones you are

talking about from Walmart and the children's vitamins at least give

me more vitamins than nothing at all.

Good luck....how are you doing otherwise?

Are you taking the " adult " vitamins when you have tried them making sure you

have something in your stomach. I cannot take them on an empty stomach

either but as long as I take them with food I have no problem.

P.S. For us doubters - I ran out of One Source from Wal-Mart the other day

and thought I would shop around. I couldn't believe the difference in those

and something like " Centrum " complete. One Source has 200-300% of some of

the vitamins and minerals where Centrum, etc. never had more than 100%.

Are you taking them with Citrucel? I think that really helps with this problem.

No, but I did ask the neuro. about celiac disease, allergies, etc. and he

doesn't think doing the diet or vitamin route is appropriate in 's case,

since the heavy drugs he was on didn't do squat. He says a lot of people

swear by these vitamins/herbs, but he doesn't believe in them, per se, but he

wouldn't stop someone from trying anything, if they've tried everything else!

: The attitude of your doctor is what I have encountered with Ray

for years and I accepted it because this whole thing seemed a little

unrealistic together with the expense. We are certainly there with

Ray in terms of medicine trying everything. I can't be sure whether the

seizures were an Autism thing since some do get them in puberty or it was

medication that caused them like we were told by doctors. He had no major

symptoms of Autism before the seizures. All I know that know seeing even

slight improvement I am feeling stupid I didn't try it earlier even though

the psychiatrist discouraged it. Peggy
