that you answer 700 a day or maybe that was a week, I was very impressed and

touched by your dedication to help us. I started your diet May 27th and have

cheated as time goes on with fried food and red wine with no sulfites and some

fruit, and have really been ok, but I have been steadfast on no sweets or

soda's. I am really quite tired of water, but I play a lot of tennis and your

natural electrolyte drink is the bomb!!!!

really like the electrolyte drink!

outbreak on my shoulder and didn't know if this was related, the horrible dry,

itching skin is what drove me to this diet, it's been chronic for over 10 years

and nothing has helped, I am starting to see a little relief but feel like it

will be such a slow process---ok here is what I take daily since March:

> It was delightful talking with you this morning. I appreciate your wealth of

knowledge. I'm so looking forward to the benefits of this program. What you

say makes sense to me. I already have a question though. I've been looking at

Iherb and different viatmins on the Net. Because my digestion is so bad, I

would like to take all liquid vitamins. I notice that there are organic liquid

B vitamins that have the required dosages but they are made from raisin

concentrate with no added sweetners. The raisin base contributes 3g of sugar to

each serving. Is this amount of natural sugar on a daily basis acceptable? Or

must we be 100% sugar free.....Thanks again for all you do....

+++Hi Gail,

I enjoyed talking with you too. It was noticeable that you did your homework in

spite of having brain fog and poor concentration.

My digestion was my worst candida symptom, however I was fine taking supplement

in tablet and/or capsule form, so don't be concerned. At one point in time when

I could only eat 9 foods, since everything else came back up, my supplements

stayed down. : )

However, instead of taking Vitamin B Complex & Niacin, you can take Nutritional

Yeast " Flakes " - it is #6 on the iHerb list; take 1 heaping tablespoon two times

per day mixed into liquid. Some people like it in soup or in Bee's Egg Drink.

It has a nice nutty flavor.

All the best, Bee

Interesting, I never heard of that before. My question on this is, I have been

prescribed minerals in the past by physicians (iron, Potassium) and they did

work and was effective. My body didn't build up a resistance to them. I wonder

in what way was he referring too on the biofilm part. Maybe multivitamins?

vitamin supplements, and that the body will build up a resistance to them. He

used the term " biofilm. " If I heard him correctly, he said that supplements may

be more effective if you take them for three weeks, then don't take any for a

week.

One possibility is that a distinction needs to be made between taking

supplements to deal with a specific problem, as opposed to long-term

" maintenance " use?

Taking a multi vitamin is good. I take 1500 mg of calcium, but I am 65 and need that much. I would think about 1200 mg would be enough for you.

hi drissia,

just wondered if you tried the the low and slow approach with the enzymes and

probiotics?? my lads tolerated diving stright in, but my daughter has to start

on tiny amounts. and don't be ashamed to ask so many questions, we all started

somewhere :-) I remember on enzymes and autism group, dana used to answer

hundreds of questions for me.

That is a huge dose of biotin. Are you sure it isn't 75mcg, which would be a

small dose?

For constipation, you can try increasing the magnesium, or the yeast protocol.

Most of what you are giving will tend to increase yeast, and you really having

nothing to help with that.

I don't see a problem giving all of these items together. Most of them are low

doses.

> Thanks a bunch for your help. I have tried HNI enzymes which seem to cause

stomach distress and behaviors, same with probiotics. History of acid reflux.

Try Kirkman or Klaire enzymes, see if those work better. Or a pancreatic

enzyme.

My son never really did tolerate probiotics. The longest time I was ever able

to use them successfully was a month. I used biotin instead.

GMP is a fairly well respected third party certification. " Good

Manufacturing Practices " . They audit companies and check active ingredients

for accuracy.

I sell supplements in my health food store, and for the most part I agree

with you that you don't have to spend a lot to get a good quality

supplement. I'd be wary of those without any third party certifications and

are dirt cheap, but other than that, you're probably OK.

I really like Now Foods brand (www.nowfoods.com).

I've seen that before. They also had a small issue with black cohosh which

they corrected.

Have 1 or 2 minor issues does not ruin the entire line for me. I still

think they are good quality and priced reasonably.

Hi there,

I hope others will jump in here but I did want to mention that some of the

autism protocols restrict copper and iron. Dr. Amy Yasko limits these and I have

had improvement on the Modified Yasko protocol developed by Rich Van Konyenburg

(or Konynenburg -apologies to Rich).

Dr. Yasko has a multi vitamin that she uses but I use a different one that was

recommended to me by an autism mother (I teach 2 autistic kids in my Sunday

school class). It is Klaire Labs Vita Spectrum.

I am doing better on this multi vitamin than any other. In addition to no

copper or iron, it has some bioavailable vitamins/supplements to assist in

methylation or to bypass methylation defects.

For example, MTHFR genetic polymorphism means difficulty or inability to process

folic acid from foods and convert it to the two bioavailabe forms 5 methyl tetra

hydrofolate (5 MTHF) and 5 formyl tetra hydrofolate, so this vitamin has 5 MTHF

instead of regular folic acid so the body can just use it without having to

convert it.

I do not use the normal daily dose of 6 capsules. I am currently taking 3

capsules daily.

I purchase mine at a local compounding pharmacy that specializes in the

supplements for various autistic protocols. It costs $32 for a one months

supply (at 6/day) so it is very cost effective.

I would strongly suggest you look into the Pall protocol. It's based on

Normally iron is not needed much unless person has some blood loss. As far as

the cu issue goes I would do some testing inorder to be able to decide that as

you had been supplementing with no Cu (but containing zinc) supplement for some

time..Serum zinc and cupper would be fine o check that.

Why not get tested for your levels of Iron and Copper. While at it get tested

for other metals such as lead, mercury, chromium, cadmium etc.

A hair annalysis is a cost effective way. You can get one with our a doctors

order on line or through some pharmacies.

Hi Everyone,

What brand of vitamins do you use? Dr. G really wants my girl on

vitamins but I can't find any teen age vitamins that don't have red

coloring. I really hate to go back to Flintstones, she feels like they

are too babyish for her and I hate throwing away so many.

Thanks for any help,

Can she swallow big pills? I personally get nauseated from any vitamins that

are not vegetarian/vegan (even though I'm not vegetarian/vegan), so I

usually take the ones from Rainbow Light. They make chewable vitamins, too.

They are sold at health food stores.

Pure forms of vitamins that are free of known allergens can be purchased from

places like

http://www.myvillagegreen.com/c-695-pharmacy-compounding.aspx or even

http://www.leesilsby.com/ I am sure that there are others. I did find out

recently that Leesilsby will try to bill insurance and if any of you have

Tricare they cover some of the items as long as you have a doctors script.

You can try the " oukidsasd " website. They sell lee silsby, Kirkman etc...

Everything is all in one place, lots of powdered formulations, and they are

organized and responsive.
