There are even dogs that can smell cancer, detect strokes, and there

is a cat in a nursing home that knows when someone is going to pass

away. The cat goes to that person's room and stays right there with

them for their final 24 hours. Animals are just amazing. Everyone

stay safe and warm (we're having our first freeze tonight in Indiana).

I've definitely turned my heat and heated mattress pad up in the past

two days.

Good luck everyone!!

Thank you Clora for your wonderful, caring reply. All your cats names

are very cute. That's great your husband is such a " sucker " for needy

cats. Sounds like you both provide a loving environment for them.

Debbie;

You're very welcome Debbie. My dad thought no one was good enough

for his daughters. He said Cliff was good for animails and kids.

And that was a compliment from dad. Yea Cliff (my husband) is a

sucker for animails. I am glad cause I love animails too.

I was able to help my next door neighbor get the things off her Pekingese. She had 2 other dogs and they showed no sign of the itch or pain that the little dog was having. We put the dog on Revolution every 2 weeks. We gave the dog Benadryl when the itching would get bad. The dog had 2 cortisone shots during the 6 months that it took to get the dog over this. At the end of the 6 months the dog showed no sign of any itch or pain in it's ears. We also cooked for the dog. We made sure the dog got hamburger mixed in with bread so that the skin of the dog was able to utilize the grease from the meat. It was a long 6 months but the dog never showed signs of the itch again. It seems to be a very hard war to win but it is winnable. Wishing you and your family and dogs the best of luck in this battle. Rita

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome. I have been battling these for about 8 months, thought they were gone, because i left everything, clothes, toys, furniture, etc! I am a single mom, so not very easy to try to start over. Yet it seems as though I had infected everyone else, mom, aunt, boyfriend. The only things I had brought with me were my dogs. I breed very expensive mastiffs, and couldn't give them up.I love them. Noone believes me, as I am the only one who feels them. So, now, I have moved again, and am infested again. I moved in with my boyfriend, so I figure I got them from his stuff, or my van. They are in my clothes again, and I can't afford to replace everything again. My poor kids don't even have toys right now, because of these things. Now, my main question, is how do I get them off the dogs, because, I have only lived in this house about 3 weeks. I think they are living on them. Pretty sure I have d.gallinae. LUCKY ME! Does anyone have any suggestions about the dogs? I am trying to wash with amonia, borax, and now rp in the laundry, just don't have hot water right now. Don't know what to do. Nothing is working!I have been reading alot of posts, trying to learn. Thanks.

Leigh,

I too, am having a difficult time getting these things off of my pets. Not sure

what kind of mites I have, but they are not visible. I have tried freedom 45,

Revolution, Frontline, Frontline spray, various flea shampoos and sprays,

benzoil peroxide shampoo, and Sentinel. The best luck I have had so far is with

sulfur lime dip. Today I am going to buy some Happy Jack Sardex spray. It

contains benzoyl benzoate, which works well in my hair. BB is also used by the

military in uniforms as a repellant, so I am hoping it will keep the mites off

of the dogs while they are in the yard. I also have some Advantage Multi on

order from AU. Should get here in about another week or so. I can't use

ivermectin, as one of my four dogs is a catahoula mix that is possibly part

aussie, and another one is a 16 year old malamute. I will let you know If I have

any great success with either of the new products. I should know something about

the Sardex by tomorrow. You may also want to check out this link:

Dr. Jeromin is a vet derm with tons of articles on skin issues, many dealing

with mites. Don't skip the articles on cats, there is info on dogs in some of

them. She was recommended to me by my friend who has 8 rescue dogs, and is so in

demand that she has to set appointments three months out. I have one in

November, but am hoping to resolve this before then .

BTW Love mastiffs!

I have found the cedarcide very effective for my pets. The cedarcide was not

that good for my environment but the ticket for my pets. I oiled them down real

good they looked like a oil lamp wick, ears included. Instead of spraying the

cedar I used a ear solution bottle and squirted it into the fur then worked in

really good. Every time I notice a scratch to the ears and or fur they get

oiled. Very rarely now I also use bio spot drops now, but was using the bio spot

drops before the cedar and still had the infestation. I also treat the drinking

water with MMS for my animals. 2 drops activated to the gallon. I also use DE,

Diatomaceous earth everyday in their food, moist.

If they aren't on Revolution, you need to start them on it ASAP. Most vets will match internet prices if you bring in a print-out. I give it to mine every 2 weeks and it seems to be working (2 dogs, 6 cats).

Our success with the Pekingese came after a full 6 solid months of giving a full dose of Revolution every 2 weeks for the entire 6 months. Then we could give the Revolution once a month and it seemed to work. Best of luck, Rita

Are you seeing any success on your pets or on your skin or the environment? I

emailed you. check if it went to SPAM/JUNK!

It will be interesting to see what the derm vet has to say. We have one here

too--now If I could afford it!!

Pets are so hard! You love them so much--but the anxiety of trying to help them

and not hurt them is terrible. I worry every time I spray anything. i havent

sprayed much except epsom salt and 2 x w Cyfluthrin. I still worry about the

pesticide residual on environment hurting the kitties. Kitties are so fragile.

My old 10 year old kitty is one i have to be so careful with.

Anybody out there---we sure can use some help with these pets! Has anybody got

good results or cures?

I am going to try Revolution again. It is so expensive though. Doing it every

2 weeks means no new exhaust system for the car!

Why don't you try lime and sulfur dips? I wouldn't over poison my pet. I had

to give mine up in the end but it was better than killing them with pesticides.

Treating my yard the same as the video except a larger area with the granules in

yard for me helped big time outside.

OK, I tried the Happy Jack Sardex Spray on my dogs and it works really well.

Active ingredient is Benzoyl Benzoate, which is a repellant as well as a

miticide. My husband says that he is getting no bites off of the dogs. I can't

really tell right now; I 'm not having a good day. It runs about $15 a can. One

can looks like it will do all of my (65-90lb) dogs twice. If I saturated them

maybe not twice. Tractor supply carries it. I am going to use it on my head

tonight after a long soak. Unfortunately, it can't be used on cats.

I will go get some Happy Jack spray tomorrow, then. I breed dogs and my

boyfriend is a dog trainer, so we always have dogs around. I dipped my dogs with

paramite, which contains phosmet. After doing so, I slept ok last night, no

bites or tickles. I even soaked my bra in it, didnt have a problem today. A

couple of tickles later on. Not much. I am a groomer, so work at a vets office.

That is how I have access to Paramite. I have bought some Demon, will try that

this weekend. Been researching, and in the UK, the poultry farms have success

with that. Also going to get some Poultry Shield. I will let you know how that

works. I took some samples to an entomologist, (I picked a ton of them off me at

3am!He can't figure out what they are, so he is going to send them to another

one. Then told me I need to find a medical entomologist! Noone seems to really

know these cooties! I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying! Hope to get rid

of them. I still feel like they are in clothes, even after microwaving and

baking at 200. How long should I cook them for? Also found out that I or my dogs

infested my sisters house! Fabulous!

really tell right now; I 'm not having a good day. It runs about $15 a can. One

can looks like it will do all of my (65-90lb) dogs twice. If I saturated them

maybe not twice. Tractor supply carries it. I am going to use it on my head

tonight after a long soak. Unfortunately, it can't be used on cats.

have any luck with heat and clothes. I use ammonia and borax in the wash (1 cup

each), and turn it off to soak for a while. Dee has luck with epsoms. Can

paramite be used on cats?? I am having a tough time with my cats-they can't take

the chems that the dogs can. The active ingredient in Poultry Shield is

carbaryl. Don't waste your money importing it-Seven (dust or liquid) is the same

stuff.

kombucha tea

Subject: Re: Pets

Hi Sara,

Yes, people have put KT in their pets water but I would suggest adding it to

their food instead. Pets, like people, need pure water to drink.

By adding Kombucha to their food they can take it or leave it as they

choose. Start with just a little but and see how it goes. The blended up

SCOBY can also be used in pet food

Some say cats should not have Kombucha because it contains acetaminophen

precursors others have given a little KT to cats, dogs, goats, birds, fish

etc.

Some dogs like to play with dried out Kombucha Colonies, SCOBY and some show

no interest at all.

Kombucha also works well when applied externally to " hot spots " burns etc.

Perhaps others will share their experiences of giving Kombucha to their

pets.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev
