Hi ,

Im from Southern CA.. I have a 5 1/2 year old little girl with

Autism. She only says about 10 words but is so sweet. I also have a little

boy who is almost 7. He had the same diagnose but has now mainstreamed into

a catholic school and the school and others don't know of his earlier

diagnose. Who know why some children are able to and others (like my

daughter) cannot. Anyway, you're a few steps ahead of me with your girl

being older. Im sure I could learn a lot from chatting from you! Nice

meeting you. Will chat later.

Dear ,

Hi! I was interested to hear you mention the sensory issues, your daughter

has.

I am new at all this so I'm trying to learn as much as I can. My

daughter used to have sensitivity troubles in her hands, mouth and feet but

they seem to be getting better, but she still rubs alot of things with

texture.

my daughter isn't really verbal at all, she says mama, dada and teetee

(her nickname and oh yes nono, but thats about it. I really hope she will

say more.

Glad to meet you! Love

Thanks for the welcome . My daughter was in inclusion, but has

regressed and now needs self contained. It seems to be working better for

her. Is your daughter affectionate? Kalyn loves every one (to the point of

major danger) She trust anyone.

Hope to chat later.

Hope to chat soon

Nice to meet you , Thanks for the welcome. Kalyn's

tactile sensory issues come and go, but her sound sensory issues have stayed

and intisified. She can hear thunder 10 miles away in a dead sleep. Tolit

flushers, bells etc. Upset her. She seems to need alot of oral stimulation

and trys to eat all day. How old is your daughter? When Kalyn would not

talk, I got her to sing because she likes music and once I put things with a

rythm she started to sing to me.

Nice to meet you, look forward to chating with you latter.

Hi!

I don't know if you have heard this, but I recently learned that supplementing

Magnesium can help with hearing sensitivity in our kids. My daughter Emma is

extremely sound sensitive (holds her hands over her ears a lot) and we are

currently starting this with her. She is also GFCF, and is doing well on that.

Hi Rick! It is nice to meet you. My name is , married to Jim, we live

in Northeast Ohio. We have 2 girls, Jill is 12, dx'd PDD-NOS and Laurel, 9,

typical. Jill is in a special ed. program run by the county MR/DD board.

There are currently 5 students, a teacher and an aide. Next year, there

will be 7, possibly 8 students in the class. This class is self-contained,

some mainstreaming, in a regular elementary school. The teacher is master's

degreed and it shows. Jill is making great progress in this class, in fact,

she's doing the best academically and socially that she ever has. She has

good verbal skills, her academic skills are delayed in all areas. I hope

you meet some great people here and I know you will! Best,
