Guest guest
Hello! Welcome to the group! Love your blog! Subject: Introduction To: insideoutweightloss Date: Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 5:41 AM Introduction Hello, I am and new to IOWL. I am a 30 y/o technical professional from Dallas, TX but currently working for an extended time in Helsinki, Finland. I have accomplished many things in my life and lived many places but getting my weight under control has remained elusive for me. My immediate goals are to rewire my brain to accept, embrace and love my body and also increase my self esteem in my personal life. I often step up and am vocal in the workplace but am limited by my body image when it comes to my personal relationships. My long term goals are to reduce my body fat amount, have a positive relationship with food and still feel like I am not missing out on anything. The key items I have learned in the past week listening to IOWL are: 1) Do not fear hunger Often times I make sure I eat, or plan to eat or think about what I will eat even before I am hungry. I have learned this is not healthy and hunger will happen and it is OK. 2) Do not be scared of parties and events. Ask yourself " How do you want to feel? " gave me a great tool as I attend many work functions and parties that involve great food and alcohol. Instead of feeling guilty after enjoying a meal I ask myself how do I want to feel today. Most time the answer is I do not want to hurt myself or feel guilty so I go slow on eating. 3) Learn to eat as a naturally slender person Many times I see my colleagues eat like hogs and maintain their weight but reminded me I do not see how they eat other times during the day. It is important for me to worry about myself only and when I am bored do not gravitate towards food. 4) I drink out of anxiety When said this, it made me stand still in my tracks. I have major anxiety issues and never linked my excessive alcohol intake to it. I often drink red wine and sell myself on the positive effects but I end up sabotaging my progress and drinking out of anxiety. I often discuss my future, what the " next step " is etc. while I am drinking and it is obvious this has a direct affect on my interest and the amount I drink. These are just a few things I learned this week and I look forward to listening more to IOWL and reading your comments. Thanks! thirtyhood.blogspot .com

I, apparently, need to go back and listen to this episode again because I must not have caught this (which one is it?). I LOVE to drink and also have a bit of social anxiety. HELLO!! I'm drinking out of anxiety. It's so obvious yet I've never connected the dots in such a black and white way before. We have 3 children our oldest son age 5 is autistic and we have another 4 year old son, a 2 year old daughter and another boy on the way that is about to make his apperance any day now. : ) Subject: IntroductionTo: AutismBehaviorProblems Date: Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 1:51 PM Hello everyone. My name is and I am the mother to 3 precious sons. They are 9, 7 and 1. My oldest, the 9 year old is and he is autistic. He was diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2 after a home health nurse recommended him for an assessment. We live in Grand Junction, Colorado although we are originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. is non-verbal, still in diapers and has self injurious behaviors. He is a head banger. I have him wear a helmet to help from the hitting. He is currently on Seroquel and Rispredal. He has gained 80lbs over the course of one year from the medicine. He started out at 40lbs so it is not that bad on him. I joined this group to just have support as there is not a lot in my area for autism. I have enjoyed reading everyone's post and have already been given hope for . We have tried gf/cf diet and he did not respond. I have not tried any other bio medical treatments on him. Guest guest
Hi , This is a terrific group. I am pretty new here myself. I have four children 15, 14, 7 and my youngest, Seth will be 5 next month. He is autistic, high functioning. He is also developmentally delayed but is verbal. We are also in diapers still. I imagine that must be very difficult for your family. What types of programs, therapies do you have him in? Has anything made a difference for you? I know for us, it is difficult to manage with 4 kids and how they respond to Seth. Welcome! Deanna > > Hello everyone. My name is and I am the mother to 3 precious > sons. They are 9, 7 and 1. Guest guest
Hello Lori,On behalf of all, Welcome! Little by little, one by one, we can change our surrounding bringing truth and love to others. Your story is encouraging to me, and I am sure to the others as well. God bless you,Fr. Hello, everyone! My name is Lori Harlan, and I am a FertilityCare Practitioner Intern. I just finished my training - I just recently took my final exam. I have loved teaching CrMS - I've met lovely people and had some challenges as well. I teach in a college town - Manhattan, Kansas - so the contraceptive culture is pretty well established. It is certainly difficult at times, but I still love serving. My husband and I dealt with infertility, which led us to CrMS and NaPro Technology and resulted in our beautiful 4-year-old daughter. I am excited to be a part of this group and I look forward to reading more! Lori -- Fr. R. Guest guest
Darla, Welcome, Question for you. Could you use food grade hydrogen peroxide instead of bleach? The amount of bleach that the produce would absorb and get into you body, frightens me. Hopefully you can have your own garden. ew Introduction Hello, Thanks for letting me into the group! I was told initially that I was denied entry so I'm glad someone changed their minds. I just moved to Dakar, Senegal. We'd been in Stuttgart, Germany for the past 3.5 years on an American military base. Now we are working at the American embassy here. We've been here for 4 weeks now. We found the produce here to be fabulous, for the time being, except that we have to soak it all in a bleach solution before we eat it. I plan to have a square foot garden and an indoor micro garden once we move into our permanent quarters. For now I have been experimenting with the lentils available at the Lebanese grocery store. I have been putting them in a red Solo cup and draining them in a colander. I am not very good at remembering to rinse them often enough but I guess once I get into the rhythm of things I'll do better. Oh, and we have to use water from the distiller machine so It's not quite the same as running the tap water in the sink. So there you have it. Once I get my supplies I have in my house hold good and get going on this project I'll probably have lots of questions! Thanks, Darla

Guest guest
Maybe I can find food grade hydrogen peroxide at a pharmacy? I haven't found any health food stores, per se. I found a store called La Maison Vert that has all sorts of bio grains from Germany and diapers and baby food and wooden toys, etc. It's outrageously expensive!
