Annette-I am not from the UK but is your child on medicine? My daughter was

first dx with panic disorder in 6th grade-always escaping the classroom. The

doc immed put her on the antidepressant Zoloft. Why do things take so long

there? My daughter always thought she was going to get ill but the meds

cured her completely! Good luck to you! Ellen

No I don’t think it’s encouraging enough. I don’t know if it would appeal to me. Perhaps we could put it in a way that people didn’t have to tell their stories, just give their opinion that this was something worth investigating and a brief explanation of why.

Stories have to be added by the web guy there in Colorado. I would email

direct at heather@.... and let her know. I think

changes will be made to the website around the first of the year.

Aseel - Welcome! That first cast is the hardest. My son couldn't

crawl or sit in it at all. It took him about 10 days to adapt to it,

but now he has been casted for four months and is doing really

wonderful. He learned to walk in his cast and can do anything and

everything in it.

I hope things improve very soon - you're probably at the end of the

worst time and things will get a little easier each day.

Yes - she will learn, I promise. always takes a little time

to adjust (one or two days now) but the first one took him quite a

while (like I said, maybe 10 days). Before you know it, she will be

running around and doing everything she could do before, but that

curve will be getting better!!

Hang in there.

le, while you are down, make sure to stick with the diet. That is 80% of

your success.

Well, I was doing very well, the scale was down 1.5 last week...yay!  However,

I've been having chest pain and shortness of breath for a few days. It got so

bad yesterday, I had to go to the ER.  Good news, I did not have a heart

attack!  Bad news, I do have inflammation around my heart, possibly caused by a

virus.   Any hoo, my working out has been sidelined since Monday...I'm hoping

the meds they gave me will work and I can start back slowly next week.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Charlotte,

It wasn't that long ago when my baby started middle school. She is going to be

a sophomore in High School next year.

My daughter begged me to play violin since the 4th grade. I could kick myself

in the butt for not starting her then. She started in 6th grade. I have an

incredible private lesson teacher for her and she still plays at school. This

year, the orchestra played Carnegie Hall March 18th. Also, this year at UIL

(competing against other schools) our Orchestra took the Sweepstakes Award - we

beat the school that is supposedly the best. Then my daughter competed at the

State level with a solo piece and WON. I am so proud of her. If your son likes

Viola, encourage him to stick with it.

God Bless your mother. I don't understand people not attending functions. I

do understand being sick and being unable to attend. Here's what I mean. My

daughter's best friend is a junior in high school. She's in choir. If the

parents find out we are going to a concert, they ask me to pick her up and they

stay home. The are not ill. They just don't go. Now what kind of message are

you sending your child? This year, I didn't attend her concerts. Her parents

would drop her off and pick her up after. They did finally attend the last

concert of the school year. First one they have gone to since I've known them -

- 4 years. I feel so sorry for the kids. My mom for one excuse or another

never went to any functions for me. My dad went and still at 86 goes to

everything. My mom has never been to one of my daughter's concerts. My dad has

never missed one.

My daughter and I both had surgery last year. My dad was there. But when my

son had surgery in April my mom was breaking down the door to be with him. Think

that's not a powerful message? Wonder if she'll go with us tomorrow for my

daughter's surgery?

middle schooler!! that boggles my mind! this last week was filled with fun

things, 2 days had field trips, wendsday was a grad breakfast, it was the 1st yr

theyd done that and it was great, it was catered and had sausage, bacon, eggs,

fruit salad, bisquits, 4 types of juices, coffee and 5 types of fruit tarts and

gravys

> after we got done eating they had 2 short concerts, my son was playing

the viola and i was so proud i cryed each song lol he didnt make any mistakes,

there was a teacher taking pics so i asked her what it was for when she stopped

by the table, she sat and said that they were gonna have a slide show for 15 or

so mins friday at the grad ceramony and she took a shot of me, mike and my mom,

when i see her tomorrow im gonna ask if she will email any pics she got of us,

when she was sitting she said she hoped mike kept up playin at his new school

cuz he was very talented, i told her id try to get him to play something next

yr, when school started he asked to join which was a surprise cuz my kid is a

comp/video game type and i was surprised at how well he had done playing....

> at the table there was just one other adult and 2 boys that parents

didnt show up, one didnt seem to mind and loved the food, he kept sayin he hadnt

had a breakfast that good since goin to dennys lol the other boy wouldnt eat

because of his parents not showing, my mom went to talk to the teacher and she

came over and said she hadnt ate yet and would he eat with her, he got up then,

the boy who was eating said his mom was sick and his dad in the hosp, with the

other boy i sat there watchin him eye us and look hungry but refuse to get

anything, i was thinkin is he a veg? or does his parent deny him food? i said

why dont you go get some fruit or a bisquit... im glad my mom went to the

teacher and was able to get him something...

> so anyone else have any end of the yr storys? tomorrow they have the

grad ceramony and on sunday we are throwing micheal a grad party, i love the

milestones but they have the sad sides too lol

Re-read my welcome. And google DASH DIET. Many here are experts on thiss way to help control Conn's. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension

Hello,I see how to reply now thank you for the help.Oh, wow, I did not know that about Yaz. I was on Prozac, Yaz, Ibuprofin, and Hydrocodone for my testing of Aldosterone and Renin. I also did not change my diet in any way before the test; i.e. low salt diet.My doctor that discovered my Conn's Syndrome also diagnosed my Marfans. She says I am an 'interesting patient' which I take as meaning I have a lot of medical problems. Regarding the question of Dashing, I am not sure what that is. Thanks,Glenda
