Guest guest
I just wanted to clear that up!! HeHe! I started dressing in women’s exercise clothing when I was about 12 and LOVED to go into my room and pretend I was Kathy or Jane Fonda leading an exercise class. Now when I do a tape that I love I HAVE to dress like the instructor. When I do Firm Vol. 2 I have on a white leotard, when I do Firm Cardio I have on black tights and a bra on. Guest guest
I still want to know why they wear bikinis and the guys wear shorts & t-shirts. I'd be more comfortable dressing like the guys, especially if was going to be on international television. I do know who they are, but only because of the Olympics. Guest guest
I'm sure that they wear (all of the players) bikinis so that the male viewers will watch and gloat over them. For as long as I've been playing sand volleyball I've only seen one woman play in a bikini. It was really skimpy worse than the women beach volleyball players you see on tv and she wore it when she played in a women's sand 4's league...I'm thinking "who are YOU trying to impress." I thought it was going to fall off when she dove for a ball...YUCK! If I were stick thin I wouldn't play vb in a bikini or swim in a bikini or even a tankini it's too DANGEROUS! Blushing, Jen I thought you would know who Misty May and Kerri Walsh are, especially since you watched them win the gold medal right? >>>> From: a Frey <paulajfreyhotmail (DOT) com>>> Subject: Re: Monday no noting>> >> Date: Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 7:59 PM>>>> Geoff,>> I think you outpinked me. :-) I'm not a girly girl so its not hard.>>>> Chin up on the job search. Guest guest
Yep, I did watch the gold medal game and a few others too and it bugged me the whole time I was watching. How do you compete when you know you could easily have a "wardrobe malfunction?" Ugh. I'm glad most women don't do that. I don't wear 2 piece bathing suits but even if I did I wouldn't want to swim in one either, they're for being looked at, not for being active in (at least in my opinion they're not) and I prefer being active without worrying about people looking at me for the wrong reasons! Guest guest
Hugs! We've all had those days! Your Pink theme sounds like something my daughter would do. She's a cheerleader for her high school and everything has to either be the school colors of Purple and Gold, or her favorite colors of hot pink and lime green. (Her bedroom is the brightest room in the house. I literally wear sunglasses in there because of the brightness of the pink and green paint!) She hurt her shoulder in cheerleading and we had to order some kinesio tape for it in hot pink so that it would match her clothes. Tonya Monday no noting Hi Ladies, Well no workout for me today I was going to do Tracie Long Training Better Body and Buns but it was not meant to be today. I could not do anything correct, and I was just falling behind. I'm so disappointed because I had a pink theme going for today's workout. Tracie had on a pink top, pink shoes, pink mat. And I had a Pink unitard, and legwarmers. PS Did I mention I'm just a bit feminine!! I was supposed to have a job interview today and that got canceled today because they just implemented a hiring freeze. So as you can see it was not my day, and I just want to cry!! On a fitness related front I was talking to my friend Diane about how I got Jane Fonda's Pregnancy workout and how the only real part of the workout I could do was the mat work. Anyway, she told me that I need to check out Kathy 's pregnancy workout. She said that I was a good total body aerobic workout with weight training. She also mentioned that it is a good workout to do if its been a good week or two since your last workout. Anyway, I'm going over to her house to watch it over lunch and than have a mini girls day out. She hurt her shoulder in cheerleading and we had to order some kinesio tape for it in hot pink so that it would match her clothes. Guest guest
Guest guest
LOL...ya know , I've never felt that pressure to wear makeup or be cute while teaching. I usually save my cute yoga pants and tanks for home workouts and wear my big t-shirts at the gym. I've always felt that I should cover up more at the gym so that I don't' intimidate any new exercisers. Probably because when I went to the gym as a fat slob I felt intimidated by those cute little aerobics instructors who look like they have never struggled with weight a day in their life. I even turned down an office job once, telling the recruiter that I preferred being able to go to work in no make up, without having to curl my hair, and being able to be in my sweats instead of skirts and heels. My DH says I'm the Butch Beauty Queen because in his opinion I look beautiful even though I never wear makeup and prefer throwing my hair up in a ponytail and putting on my sloppy sweats or jeans and sneakers to anything high fashion. Yeah, I think he was kissing up too. I really threw him for a loop when I decided on a PE major. LOL While I've never actually ventured in that direction, I must admit to having a few girl crushes. Tonya Re: Monday no noting As an aerobics instructor there is a certain amount of pressure to act the part, and to be honest, when I know I'm color coordinated and looking good my classes go better. I wear makeup when I teach class. Image *is* important imo when teaching to a large group of people! I have anywhere from 17 - 37 people depending on the time of year. However, when I work out at home I'm all about comfort. Sports bra and underwear only sometimes! I love that no one can see me and I can just work out and get the job done. Nonetheless - I work out harder at the gym in front of others (and Noel) and looking good is part of the experience. And Geoff, Honey - this is a diverse group and as the list owner and bisexual myself, I love that you are a cross dresser and aren't afraid to say it I was the maid of honor in my friends' wedding in Austin a couple years ago and they are both M2F transgendered folk Hugs, ------------------------------------
