Thanks Helen mine stings too and it's INCREDIBLY itchy in that fold. Not a

normal itch that can be scratched away, but when when I scratch it, it gets even

MORE itchy. The Hydrocortison cream worked wonders but kept me awake, so I'm

wondering about the Lidocaine.

Bonnie

Re: coconut oil

Bonnie, intertrigo is when the skin is irritated from rubbing against

other skin in the folds. The weakened skin is then susceptible to

yeast, which is what happens to me.

The lidocaine 5% ointment is a numbing ointment, my yeast stings and

this quiets the pain.

Both my husband and I use lidocaine ointment with no problems. He uses

it for aches in his knees and back, I use it for skin problems. It is a

prescription, tho you can get from Canada without a script.

***Pure Oil Of Oregano works well too!*** Google it for your self ;)

We use it and find it to be real helpful with many many

ailments...smells, hard to take straight...but I cook with it on

mostly everything. If we do happen to get sick, we will take it

straight. Read up on the benefits.

Does Lidocaine just DULL THE PAIN or is it also for healing?

Google lidocaine and I'm sure you'll come up with several sites that will

explain the mechanism of action in great detail.

Sometimes when you relieve pain, with something like the lidoderm

patches, it will not come back right away, or will not come back at

all. You sort of reset the pain pathways, which are really out of whack

in people with fibro.

The ointment, with the bag balm, kills the yeast. I first just used the

ointment, then someone on a diabetes list suggested bag balm. I find

the effect is synergistic. Both ointments can be said to have healing

properties, especially for skin.

I just recently bought some coconut oil from one of our local health

food stores (after reading all the good info on it). I did some

research and read that you want a coconut oil that has no GMO, is

unrefined, not made from copra, not hydrogenated, not bleached and not

deodorized. I also read that extra virgin is no different than virgin

as far as coconut oil is concerned. If you have allergies make sure it

indicates it doesn't have that particular allergy. Jarrow makes one

that is free of nuts, gluten, soy, dairy, egg.

I cooked with it for the first time the other night (I usually use

olive oil). I was concerned that it would be much sweeter and have a

heavy coconut taste. My whole family loved it. I made chicken with it.

It was not real sweet and did not have an over-powering coconut taste.

I only tasted coconut here and there. Not that I don't like coconut,

but I don't want to taste it in everything that I eat. I was very

pleased with my first try.

Hi there,

I remeber when I was first rying the egg drink...and I just couldn't

drink it, I found it too sickly.

I tried Jecca's icecream recipe, which uses the egg drink ingredients,

but produces a different texture, which helped a lot.

Then I discovered Anita's coffee shake adaptation, where you add I cup

cold strong coffee instad of water. I use a tablespoon of cinnamnon

with it, and if you leave it a few hours or overnight in the fridge,

it's like a thick milkshake.

Then there's Nan's eggnog recipe.

If you search these reicpes in the message search, you should find

them.

You can try using hot pau darco instead of water, and a tespoon of

ground ginger, and stevia to sweeten. That's another nice variation

on the taste.

Hope this helps,

Nicola

All the best,

What about the egg drink can't you tolerate? When i made it with 2 cups water ,

coconut oil,, butter and 2 eggs, I couldn't even stand the smell or taste. I

have reduced the water to 1 cup and added stevia and now I can tolerate it. The

smell and taste of egg aren't that strong any more

Hello this is my first message to the group, or rather a question.

I have tried Bees egg drink but I can't take to it. Is there any other

way to take the oil in bulk like in the drink ? I really want to do this

program properly and can only consume so much by itself. Thankyou in

advance. [:x]

I am a type A'er. Have had problems in the past with coconut. I recently started with coconut oil with a 1/8 teaspoon for 5 days and then slowly worked up, now no more problems! Maybe try this?

==>Hi . Welcome to our group. If you live in North America the

best and least expensive virgin coconut oil is available at Mountain

Rose Herbs, Eugene, Oregan, for $28.00 US per gallon. Any coconut

oil you use must be: unrefined, undeoderized, unbleached and

unpasteurized, and organic or certified organic. There isn't enough

information about the kind you bought. You could contact the company

to find out more about it.

See the group's files (left menu) for the Coconut Oil Folder where

you will find much more information about it, and also websites and

brands.

Yes, we can all thank our candida for making us " smarten up! " LOL!

The best, Bee

You can also get quality coconut oil at Whole Food and places like Vitamin Shoppe. I would check out those sources before ordering online.

---I know that coconut oil is good for the digestion and recommended

for people with Chrones but otherwise I am not sure what it is good

for. Does it have omega 3-6-9? I rub it on my skin at times and it

feels good. I have a hard time with fats so I am looking for ways to

apply the fatty acids via the skin. I have heard that Essential oils

can be used that way if you are very low on fatty acids (which I am )

and cannot handle fats hardly (due to liver and gallbladder

inflamation) But I do not have enought info. on that.Does anyone?

the Whole Foods here has CO from Spectrum brand. on a CO list the Spectrum was put down for bad flavor, but i find it too delicious... if it gets better than that, i don't dare try to keep it around.

Thanks, , this was helpful. Also thanks for the suggestion about where to buy it. Don't have a Whole Paycheck near me, but do have a Vitamin Shoppe. I haven't decided yet where to buy it whether online or offline or both, but I'll definitely check out yours and others' suggestions. Hi,

My personal favourite, after trying quite a few brands of coconut oil,

is Tropical Traditions - Gold Label Standard, available at

www.tropicaltraditions.com It is frequently on sale at half price

@ $55/gal. It tastes the best to me and brings my body

temperature up to normal with regular consumption.

Enjoy,
