Guest guest
Thank you . Now I have a very FUNNY story to tell all of you (this happened this morning). I go out for breakfast and sit with all the regulars. I take out my little bowl of sprouts and I put it under my one egg and sliced tomatoes. I do this EVERY morning and various people have inquired. " What ARE those things " . So I usually go into my SPROUTING speech. Some people are very interested and take down the info. So THIS morning, I am sitting next to a very nice lady named Isabel. I usually just sit there, read the morning paper and say hi to all the regulars. I don't have to do the sprouts speech any more because THEY ALL KNOW ABOUT MY SPROUTS. So we usually talk about what is the latest story on tv or in the news. So I sit down next to Isabel and she's very friendly. She's A NEW CUSTOMER. She sees what I'm putting on my plate and she goes: " Ooooohhh what are those, they look very healthy, I'm a vegetarian " . That's all Melody had to hear. I said " Have you ever heard of SPROUTING? " She said " oh you mean like what I get in the asian market, THE BEAN SPROUTS " ???? I laughed and said " Honey, there's a whole new world waiting for you out there in sprout land " . She said " I love to garden, what ARE those things?? " I showed her my broccoli sprouts, holding them up one by one, and she goes " where is the root " .? I showed her and she exclaimed: " You mean I can plant this in my garden and grow heads of broccoli " . I truthfully said " well, I don't know, I don't do the soil thing, but I believe if you sprouted these IN SOIL, and take the seedlings and go outside and plant them in your garden, you just might get a head or two. " I then asked her if she had a computer (she was 73 and I knew there was a good chance she would not have one) She said " no, not me BUT ALL MY FRIENDS LOVE TO GO ONLINE " . I gave her the Sproutpeople.com website, I have her MY VIDEOS link on youtube. She said: " OH my friend will love you, she's a vegetarian too and she loves to grow stuff " . I wrote everything down. I was there for 90 minutes speaking to her. she left all happy and excited and was going to her friend's house. I told her to have her friend leave a comment on youtube when she sees my mini-greenhouse " . to which she said " you have a mini greenhouse " ??? I laughed my head off. FUTURE SPROUTERS!!!! Guest guest
Sorry to be late in replying (waaaaaaay too busy here), but I am so glad to see this decision Melody! I just cringe when I see people using all those artificial things. My husband loves his stuff SWEEEEET, too. So sweet I can't stand it--but that's fine by me because I when I do bake (rarely) I only have one piece right away to make sure it is good and to satisfy my desire for variety. Then I don't care who eats the rest. Of course I do have to admit that if I don't bake sweet stuff for him, he just goes out and buys it--more $$$ down the drain. Sometimes you just cannot win. Guest guest
Connie, I had the same problem with sweets. I was feeling dizzy and thirsty all of the time, but I was drinking coke not water. My wife made me go to see a doctor. My blood sugar was 380. They put me in the hospital and explaned diabetes to me. The doctor put his finger on my nose and said. " Diet or die " . I chose diet and I learned about nutrition. It's 45 years later and I'm in pretty good health for an old man. Hopefully, diabetes does not run in your husband's family. ew Re: Sherry re: round green sprouter Sorry to be late in replying (waaaaaaay too busy here), but I am so glad to see this decision Melody! Guest guest
If you have a family Doctor, its time for your husband to have a chat. ew Re: Sherry re: round green sprouter Apparently it does, grrr Connie http://www.home-and-school-solutions.com > > > > > > > > > > > > I viewed the video. > > > > > > > > Scary stuff. Guest guest
I'm just going over old posts... and finding ones that fascinate. You are talking here about wind-drying. Our neighbor, Jim, grew up round here in the back hollers of Northern Georgia and he showed us the tree where as a kid they'd stretch a wire from there to another tree and hang up cabbage leaves to dry. Of course if it's rainy it won't work! Doh. Dunno about one day.. He also told us about keeping food in an underground 'refrigerator' layers of straw keep veggies fresh for weeks! We have this dream for feeding the future... It involves growing a forest food garden for fruit, nuts, herbs, berries, an annual garden for local veggies, a winter greenhouse for growing plants out of season and a kitchen garden, growing sprouts and wheatgrass...a total future plan for feeding people healthily and maintaining wellness. Oh yes, the garden also includes an aquaponic tank for fish and plants... so we get our fish oil and fish that are not full of mercury. The very man I mentioned above has land he is turning into an orchard... he is sad that the old timey ways might be lost when he dies.. as his kids are all modern day gadgets and stuff.. with love and smiles sunny Feed the Future - lifestime sustainable wellness and nutrition for all PS Melody - WRITE A BLOG! You're sooooo funny loved the story about your husband's cooking.. ________________________________ From: Ernest Willingham <99tomatoes@...> Sent: Mon, October 12, 2009 12:23:54 PM Subject: Re: Sherry re: round green sprouter Melody, I watched that video twice and didn't here her say that you could dehydrate in just one day. I don't doubt that the divice will work, but not quickly. Even faster out side in the sun, but you would prbabaly have to turn it every hour or so. ew Re: Sherry re: > round green sprouter > > > Hi Thia, > > I also have a Good4U.
