Hi Viv,

I agree that you need not go into a panic. You have no idea what you will be

told yet. Your

child may very well be on the spectrum but if he is talking, just not very much,

he may

have Asperger's Syndrome or very high functioning autism. There is no reason to

think it

will 'get worse'.

Kirby didn't say (I don't believe) that ALL children with autism have

bowel problems

like that. Many do, but not all. Not all bang their heads aginst walls. There

are some

similarities that seem to be very commonplace in all of the kids, but a lot of

it varies

significantly.

If your child is not having these issues now, he may not ever develop them. The

big

picture is generally seen in the first 3 years, (generally) and what you need to

do now is to

prepare yourself to help him, no matter what the diagnosis.

Speech and language disorders are actually 2 different things, so first you have

to

determine which he has or if he has both. Does he have actual speech problems?

Is he

difficult to understand? Is he stammering and stuttering? Is he dropping sounds

like in

using mostly vowel sounds " Bu Lighyear " " Can I go ou an pay " ?

Or is language development an issue? Is he reversing pronouns? (he, she, his,

her and

sometimes even mom and dad) Is he not seeming to comprehend words like if you

ask

him to hand you the ball, does he hand you something else? Is he having a

problem

developing his language?

Or, is he simply quiet and not talking much? These are all separate issues.

Does he make eye contact? Does he go limp when you hug him, but hugs when he

wants

to?

I could go on, but there are so many questions to be answered.

You need to relax and get his diagnosis first. Then, you need to educate

yourself on all

possible treatments. But, truly, take it one step at a time.

Hi Viv,

No, your son may NOT necessarily add in those behaviors. He may be mildly

mercury poisoned, and only show the symptoms of mild poisoning.

That said, you still will want to help him get rid of it.

If you are going to a " regular " doc, don't expect them to know much about

mercury poisoning, unless you are very very lucky. You will need to do a

lot of research on your own to understand his issues and be a proactive mom

to make sure he gets the treatments he needs.

Yes, we all wish it would go away. My son is 26. His issues started at 4-6

months. I found out about the mercury connection when he was 20 after 20

years of searching for the " why " behind his disability.

But there is lots of hope for someone so young--and for my son as well, who

is a junior in college now.

Tell the 911 crew that the international vaccine program was initiated

in 1994 by the United Nations, the Rockefeller foundation, WHO and

World Bank, among others.

That'll get them kicking. They already know this and talk about vaccines and autism all the time. Ummm..... at least that's what I've heard anyway. ;-)

Barb,

My oldest ASD child is 21. I also just finding

out about these treatments, but got the

impression that they weren't really helpful for

older children/adults. Please tell me that

assumption is wrong. Despite not having these

treatments available for Damien, when he probably

would have benefited the most from them, I still

want to help him in any way I can.

Yes, I think the years of working through the development of more effective mercury chelation and the rebalancing of the body is showing us that improvement can happen at any age--not necessarily as much improvement, but certainly improvement to the quality of life, if not more! Just hope that your child is a good detoxer!

That said, this is a long row to hoe for the older kids because they often have so many toxins stored in their bodies and obviously missed out on a lot of learning.

However, my son tells me (on his computer keyboard but he is talking more all the time) that he is in MUCH LESS PAIN than he used to be because everything hurt for so long--his joints, his eyes, his stomach, you name it. SO much of that pain is gone as we have brought down the levels of many toxins in his body and healed a lot of things.

That alone is worth all the work!

There is definitely not much happening in NYC in regards to natural

perfumery. I'm hoping to change that.

However, there is a shop I love called Enfleurage on Bleecker Street.

In fact I just bought some amazing agarwood from there.

Good Luck to you.

Their petitgrain sur fleur is totally sublime. I'll look into their

agarwood; I'm in the market.

Hello

I just want to introduce myself as a new member in this group and hope

my post is on the right place (first time posting in a -group).

My name is Anne-Kathrin, I'm 27 years old, form germany and living in

Bavaria. Sorry when my English is not so well, I'm better in reading

than in writing (must be the practice^^) and especially the names of

the essential oils are often not so easy to translate for me. But I'm

lerning^^

I love all the different and extraordinary scents and try to collect

rare and interesting essential oils, absolutes etc. (as long as I can

pay for them ... as a student I don't have yet so much money for the

really expensive ones) and the memories that I associate with them. I

also like to make experimets and mix different essential oils together

- for the aroma lamp or as parfum, also my experiences in this area

are on a very low level till now^^.

After spending my whole free-time today whith reading in as many og

those interesting posts as possible and rummage in the archive I'm now

really tired (by the way here the time is after midnight and I have to

work tomorrow^^). So I have to say good night :)

Special greetings to adam, my familyname is the same as yours,

Gottschalk :)

Hi Anne-Kathrin,

Welcome to the group! You posted in the write place

(unlike me in one of my earlier posts!) and I think

you write very well in English. Much better than I

would if I tried to write in German. Enjoy the group!

Greetings to you too. I myself have never met another person with my

surname. I have, however, heard endless stories from everyone else in

the world about a teacher or a doctor or an old friend they had/have

with the name of Gottschalk. I'm often stunned at how many of us

there are. Glad you could join us. :-)

Actually, we have another Gottschalk in this very

group! Maybe she'll join in and say " hi. " It must be

time for a line of Gottschalk natural perfumes!

" Gottschalkier " maybe?

A warm welcome Keri

By your intro this sounds the perfect place for you to develop your Art. I

have seen on the posts already that others have welcomed you so.....I hope that

you are beginning to settle in. Much to see, read and learn.

I am from the borders of Wales and Herefordshire in a place called the Marches

..... just inside Wales about 5 miles from the book town of Hay on Wye.....

Good luck with your level one.......... and also read, read, read accross the

spectrum of information available to you...... May I also recommend the groups

suppliers to you. These people come highly recommended by the group and we

tend to look out for one another as there is a lot of adulteration going on out

there.

Ask questions if you are not sure of anything..... someone will always answer

you and if not just ask again......

Hi ,

Thanks for posting! I am living in NC now and grew up in Bothell...near

Woodinville. I am new to the list too. I am unfortunately having to buy

the ridiculously expensive brew right now so can't wait for the warm weather

to start brewing my own.

I have had heavy metal toxicity for god knows how long and the tea does take

it out via the digestive tract. If you didn't know, mercury tears up the

gut. You may have to slow down OR I take a quality brand of chlorella to

absorb it in the gut. I always do better with chlorella.

Hope that helps,

Sorry, my fingers are going hog wild these days! Hit the wrong

combo of buttons and I think I sent a very short post!

Anyway, HI ! I am down here on the Hood Canal, southern most

tip. Thanks for the kind commments. I sorely need to get more

caught up on the site, but I just am hurting for the time to do so!

Wish I had sheep and other fiber animals besides the rabbits, but

they keep me happy, and help me get my hands on other fibers that I

love to spin!

I noticed the same think about drinking KT, getting headache. Well,

last night was my first drink of my home brew, just a few ounces.

Going to dip into the bottle again here in a few. But, as rare as

headaches are for me any more, I do think that is what it was from.

I'll let you know if I end up with one again today! I'd love to hear

if this is something that anyone else has experienced.

LOL Anya!

It is not true, that all alcoholics will drink anything. I have known

very few alcoholics that would touch rubbing alcohol and none that

would ever consider cologne. I am sure there are some, but definitely

not all.

Sadly, homeless folks have been known to do just that. And around

here, you can't buy Sterno (alcoho-and-gel fuel for buffet burners,

and small portable stoves) in neighborhoods that have a large

homeless population because they were finding that homeless

alcoholics were eating the stuff.

Hi ,

Nice to meet you... I used to be into poetry but long ago gave it up.

Like to read some of yours one day if you feel like sharing. I'm sorta

new to the group, been around about 2 months maybe. I have PAT, IBS,

hypoglycemia, polyneuropathy, depression, anxiety, PTSD, DID &

migraines, I don't think I forgot anything... maybe I did... lol Oh

yeah, my chronic stupid runny nose. I'm finally going to see an ENT

friday. I went back to excersizing last week and it was so embarassing

to keep wiping my nose all the time and the more heated I got the more

it ran. How damn embarassing. It's such a stupid minor annoying thing.

But I can't get rid of it no matter what I or my docs have tried. I gave

up, it's been over a year now and no one can figure out what is causing

it or whether it is related to anything else I have going on. So Friday

morning I go to see the ear, nose & throat doc, hopefully he'll be able

to stop the running... I've been in a pretty good spell pain wise

lately, thank God. Hasn't always been that way. I work full time now for

the past year, no choice. I happen to love my job tho so that helps. It

isn't strenuous, I'm at the computer all day. I have a son, fiance and 2

furkids of the feline persuasion. Velcro & Hooter. Welcome!

Welcome !

I am a spinner/weaver/knitter too! Have done a lot of

work with textiles and we have at least two other

members here who are doing wonderful things with

perfumed textiles. You have come to the right place!

Enjoy the group!
