I'm with you! I need a good challenge! Someting to make myself even

more accountable. I'm doing relatively good, however, I still

occasionally as I'm walking by the fridge in between meals or cooking

and grab my refrigerated balance bar for just a " bite " ...or pop

in " just one milk dud " when I get up. Nope, not next week! I'll be

perfect!

I really want to do that but I am just completing my first challenge

and was going to take next week as my off week (still continue to

workout and eat healthy, somewhat, but quit weights), now I am

thinking maybe I shouldn't take the week off and join all of you.

Decisions, decisions. DO you guys think I should have an off week or

not?

,

For us new timers, (I'm at the end of week 3), I think you should go for one

more week as an inspiration to us newbies. Take the next week off. But

ultimately, the decision has to be yours.

Everything I've read says you need an off-week. When I was in

gymnastics we did some nasty, grueling training for 8 weeks straight

and always had an off-week before comps. HELPED tremendously!

Congrats on completing your challenge! What's next?

I have to have my free day on Sunday, or it seems I get out of wack. It works

better 'cause my husband is home and that is usually the day I try to cook him a

good home cooked " Southern " meal.

Although, I am not having any more free days like the last. I'm gonna do good

this time.

I'm gonna treat the 4th as if it were any other day.

I am just so worried about that week off, I guess I am most worried

because I am not sure what I am supposed to do. I have heard mixed

stuff on this, have any advice for me?

Whats next?????????.......another 12 week challenge and then after

that I am just going to do this for life. I am enjoying it ALOT more

than I ever thought I would, I adapted to the eating rather quickly

and am loving the workouts, I definitely want this to be a way of

life for me.

Noelle,

I had to do that for Memorial Day, I have to keep my free days on

Saturdays because I will get all screwed up otherwise so I understand

where you are coming from on that one, I went to a family picnic (and

I come from a family of VERY large people so there is never a lack of

good food) and I took my little lunchbox with my cottage cheese and

what not and it was actually very easy to stay away from the bad

stuff. What made it even easier is when I sit and watch the rest of

the family members stuffing themselves and then telling me how I am

going to die from mal-nourishment while all the while they are

growing bigger and bigger, didn't want one bite of that forbidden

food then.

Good luck to you on the 4th, I will be thinking of all of you hoping

we can all resist the temptation, it is out there and it is hard.

I've heard that alot of people eat BFL during the break, but ditch

the workouts to rest. Many of them say it's very much needed.

Don't worry about it. Just don't go NUTZ. You've adapted to this

great foundation of nutrition and exercise, a week off of the

exercise is not going to undo the 12 weeks of hard work! Just don't

eat a bag of oreos for breakfast!! Like I used to!

Boy , can I relate to you. I have a co-worker who had a breast reduction

in an attempt to make her appear smaller. Now, she is upset because the rest of

her looks larger. She actually told me yesterday as I ate my broccoli and tuna

that I was anorexic. I just laughed and told her I was building a better body.

She said you have already lost weight and I lifted my shirt and showed her my

belly flab, as she was chowing down on a TACO SALAD! As a matter of fact, I

told her that taco salad stunk! The meat smelled terrible and it didn't even

look good.

I have really learned allot in the last three weeks and it's getting easier. I

went out to eat with a friend and pulled out my protein bar. I'm going to a

surprise party and a catfish place Saturday and I plan to do the same thing

there.

Thanks for the reply. It's great knowing there are other people facing the same

things you do.

Hiya :) DH and I have been doing this since Jan 14th and we've yet

to take a week off. Although we have taken a few breaks due to health and

company which we don't feel guilty about :) IMHO, I'm in this for life.. and

breaking my life up into 12 week periods with 1 week of rest just isn't

natural. When we feel we need it.. we take a day or two off. :) So, do

what works for you and what you feel you need :)

I get so excited about BFL and want everyone to do it. I have my mom reading

the book who is 54 and never lifted a weight in her life. She wants to do it

too. I told a lady at work who had her stomach stapled and eats garbage now,

that if she was going to eat a candy bar, she should at least eat a Snickers

because they are the lowest on the glycemic index (according to a body builder

on bodybuilding.com) (I'M NOT EATING SNICKERS MYSELF) :-)

and low and behold she switched. Now, if she would just read the book.

People kill me that cry and complain about their health, looks and everything

else and then don't want to step up to the plate and make the effort to change

and on top of that, want to make you feel bad for doing something right.

That is my venting for the day.:) LOL

I'm in, my only non-perfect problem so far is eating all six meals.

Most days I can only get to five before bedtime. Maybe I should

reduce my protion sizes? I am just stuffed by meal 4.

Wonderful to hear this!!! I think you should take a week off but continue to

eat clean and enjoy a few more free meals. Cut down on your workouts but

continue with your cardio.

We are ALL facing the same obstacles as you Noelle - so you are definitely NOT

alone! I have a big party tomorrow night at the Rainbow Room in NY followed by

another brunch on Saturday. I am going to be as careful as I can but of course

cannot bring with me. lol

For July 4th I am stymied ... I think I can do okay. I am going to try.

Rita

Re: Perfect Week Contest!

I think that is what I am going to do, 5 days of cardio and skip the

weights, that way when I get back to them I will be sore ( I LOVE

that feeling). I think I will let myself enjoy the 4th a LITTLE too,

maybe I will have two pcs of chicken instead of one palm size

(whatever that may be) pc. I guess it really isn't all that big of a

deal but for some reason I seem to want to make it that way, I worry

too much sometims.

Thanks so much for the help, I appreciate it greatly,.]
