Guest guest
FYI: A DSM code relates to mental health diagnoses and ICD 9 codes relate to medical diagnoses. SID has no code (is not recognized as a disease entity by the APA or AMA), and is therefore not reimbursable. I successfully used my son's hypotonia as a diagnosis to get reimbursed for his OT that treated his handwriting difficulties and his SID. It would be terrific if research could demonstrate a strong relation between OCD and SID and successful treatment of SID with OT for the purpose of reimbursement. Then our kids could get both and be treated in a more comprehensive way. Perhaps there are some out there who might take a gander at the ICD 9 codes to see if there are any applicable and hence reimbursable. Guest guest
Here's what a GOOGLE search gave me when I inputed neurotin. " Pronounced NUHR-on-tin (and sometimes misspelled as Neurotin) Neurontin is newly on the market and it is used for preventing seizures and recently as a mood stabilizer (in the same way that tegretol is both anti-seizure and anti-mania). Neurontin is sedating, so this side effect may be used to reduce anxiety and overcome insomnia. also is primarly prescribed and purchased for treatment of: (a) partial seizures (seizures that begin in a limited area of the brain) and ( pain which results from herpes or shingles. " ******************** Now I'd like to know why you're on this? Just curious. I am on mestinon because it helps reduce the muscle fatigue feelings aka weakness. However, it can't give me extra strength or return what I lost, but it aids my existing abilities to function good enough to enable me to do what I want. I do things differently because of my new weaknesses, and the mestinon gives me the sense or feel that I can still do things only now I got to do it in a new way / approach differently. I take 30mg/day, morning to kick start my day then I coast the rest away on my own power. If tempted, I will take another 30mg if my day runs too long (say beyond 12 hours; awake 7am and I plan on going out after work, so at 6pm I pop a pill and go till bedtime, say 11pm). This gives me a smooth, functional day. Questions? Ask me and I will explain more. Guest guest
The water is essential. I keep a bottle at my desk and another in my car (as I¹m on the road a lot). I refill them at the water coolers in our various offices and toss them every day or two before the bacteria builds up. Sports drinks are loaded with calories and will slow your process. I only drink them if I¹m actually participating in a sport, or doing hard work in the yard and it¹s over 90 here. I don¹t count golf or power lifting as a sport as there is no aerobic activity to speak of. (coming from an elitist old rugby player...now that¹s a sport) There other thing they¹re good for is if you are sick and have diarrhea, they¹re good for replacing electrolytes. Forget the diet Pepsi that will hinder your progress. It¹s my understanding the coffee can as well, but it¹s my drug of choice and I¹m willing to pay the consequences for that one. I will get a non-fat latte with an equal in it or use the Trader Joe¹s fat free half and half with an equal at home. As far and the cream of wheat is concerned, it¹s not on the list and I personally haven¹t eaten it in so long I can¹t remember what¹s in it. Guest guest
Hi there! If you have to have the coffee to jump start you in the morning, fat free creamer and equal is probably the way to go on it. But what I personally found with my first challenge, is that the farther into the program I got, the more energy I had, and the less external pick-me-ups were needed in the morning to jump-start my day. Cream of when is fine for breakfast. There is actually a recipe in the EFL book that uses cream of wheat, and mixes vanilla protein powder in it. That would make it a complete meal that way, so it's not just all carbs. Liz > > I'm new at this and have a few questions. > > I was a big Diet Pepsi and coffee fan. Guest guest
Ok, maybe I'm in the minority, but I think you're crazy for cutting out your caffeine. Bill recommends black coffee before cardio because caffeine is a thermogenic and a performance enhancer. It actually improves the intensity of your workout and helps with fat loss. I just read about a study where people on a four-week calorie restricted diet who had 300mg of caffeine (2 1/2 cups of coffee) a day lost a pound a week more than people who did the calorie restricted diet without caffeine. Here's my take on Caffeine and Carbonation: http://www.skwigg.com/id59.html Low calorie or zero calorie flavored waters are ok. Propel isn't bad once in awhile because it only has like 15 cals, but stay far away from sports drinks like Gatorade that contain a lot of calories and sugar. They'll wreck your calorie deficit. Some people also flavor their water with lemon juice or Crystal Light. Cream of Wheat is ok as long as it's balanced with a protein portion. If it turns out that she's low on IgG plus low on either IgA or IgM -- then the diagnosis (by definition) usually turns out to be hypogammaglobulanemia -- or CVID - Common Variable Immune Deficiency -- same thing -- just two different names to confuse people! Many, many prayers are prayed on behalf of many, many people -- some are healed and some are not. Does that mean that prayer is ineffective? No. It means that we are subject to God's will and direction for each life. Then why pray? Because it does several things: it puts us in partnership with God to see His will accomplished. it tunes our lives so that we can walk closer to Him. and when we spend time in prayer we begin to see God's heart and understand even when His will is different from our own. So, if you've been praying for healing -- and God hasn't accomplished that in your life, or the life of your child, I hope that you will continue to pray and draw near to the One who understands and knows you best and knows what is best for all. Guest guest
Yes, as a precaution, mostly. I get mold on my sprouts regularly if I don't use a GSE wash somewhere along the line. Especially the wheat grass that I grow to juice in the Z Star (I'm just starting to do wheat grass on a regular basis). I do also use it in a spray bottle for various uses. One thing I do is take a bath with it in the water after showering for 5 minutes every now and then. Just for maintenance. You're not supposed to leave it on your skin for too long, it will dry out your skin. Or I'll spray it on after a shower, wait a minute and rinse. You can read various info online about it's uses and benefits. Two good sites for information on GSE : _http://www.pureliquidgold.com/_ (http://www.pureliquidgold.com/) _http://air-water-nutrition-healthsmart.com/open/product_info/grapefruit_seed_ extract.htm_ (http://air-water-nutrition-healthsmart.com/open/product_info/grapefruit_seed_ex\ tract.htm) Keep smilin Jerry

Mainly nausea and vomiting, stomache aches, constipation, plus he has absorption issues. I think that these are all pretty typical for FMF. Guest guest
Syntrax Nectar definitely passes the water test. It mixes up more like fruit juice than a gloppy shake. I also like EAS 100% Whey in chocolate flavor. I can drink it plain in water, no problem. Here was my Syntrax Nectar taste test results - Very Cherry Berry was quite good. It was only vaguely medicinal, still way better than any protein shake I've had before. I think I only dwelt on the very faint aftertaste because so many cough syrups and cold medicines are cherry flavored. Roadside Lemonade was a little weird. It was tart, but not a good tart, kind of a bitter chemical tart. Still, it was better/different than most pukey protein powders. I can see how a lemonade drinker might love this one. Caribbean Cooler flavor, is the best one so far. It tastes like a pina colada, lots of coconut, very little aftertaste. Great mixed with banana or pineapple. And it's white instead of neon. Strawberry/Kiwi was quite good even though the neon red color terrified me. What the hell is in there to make it GLOW like that?! Fuzzy Navel, I believe was the packet of rat poison. Artificial peach flavors never quite work. Fuzzy Navel was very chemically. Apple Ecstasy was pretty good. It won major points just for the fact that it's bright green with frothy white foam on top. It absolutely looks like something Grandpa Munster made in his laboratory. I would buy this and drink it just for the entertainment value. Lemon Tea was pleasantly surprising. I expect anything with artificial lemon in it to taste like furniture polish, but this one tasted more like Diet Snapple. This was my second favorite flavor behind the Caribbean Cooler. Crystal Sky Fruit Punch. When it turned bright blue, I jumped up and down and clapped. Now I'm wishing I'd taken a picture of every one of these flavors because the colors have been spectacular and hilarious. It was very tasty. Might be in a tie for second with Lemon Tea. Natural Peach. It was ok, not great. Artificial peach flavors are usually weird and chemically and this one was no exception. Cappuccino. I hate coffee. I tossed this one because I knew it wouldn't be a flavor I would ever buy. It actually has coffee in it though. If you're a coffee drinker it might be a nice twist on normal protein shakes. Anyway, I went with the Caribbean Cooler flavor and I'm very happy with the decision. I'll be ordering more for sure. Another thing I learned is that when Syntrax says that their product mixes easily with a spoon, they totally mean it. Put it in a glass and stir it a little. I quit using the shaker bottle after the second time I turned the whole shake into foam. If you use it in the blender you have to thoroughly mix all your other ingredients first and then throw the Nectar in and pulse it a few times on low. Don't whir the hell out of it or you'll just make a bubbly mess. > Hi all, > > The other day someone posted a protein powder that passed the water > test...was that you ? What protein powder was it? Guest guest
Wow. Lots of great info. The muster¹s rock! Lol. Thanks. Food pictures are always interesting. A rainbow of protein ...what a thought.. My Hubby is a graphic artist and often gets jobs doing menus for sushi restaurants ( for which he is paid monetarily AND in free sushi...and he always asks if he can bring his lovely wife!) any way...the pictures of sushi always look so weird no matter how beautiful they actually look! Your food pictures are often on fun plate¹s I notice! Lynn I may just have to expand into the fruity arena..I am a die hard chocolate or vanilla powder eater! on 4/21/06 3:21 PM, Skwigg atskwigg@..., wrote: > Syntrax Nectar definitely passes the water test. Guest guest
Is Syntrax Nectar available in stores or only online? What kind of protein is in Syntrax Nectar? > > Hi all, > > > > The other day someone posted a protein powder that passed the water > > test...was that you ? What protein powder was it? Guest guest
Jen, I don't know where you live, but I saw some at Vitamin World, which is a chain. They had maybe 4-5 types, in the huge tubs. I'm not sure what type of protein it is, but I'm guessing whey. Candace > > Is Syntrax Nectar available in stores or only online? Guest guest
It's whey protein. I know that some supplement/vitamin stores carry it but I always buy mine online from Netrition. http://www.netrition.com/syntrax_nectar_page.html I originally bought an 11-flavor sample pack for $15.99 from EnjoyHealth: http://www.enjoyhealth.com/samples.htm That's a good way to taste them all without buying a couple pounds of one flavor and hoping you like it. > Is Syntrax Nectar available in stores or only online?
