Marie,

To start, it's good to choose a plan you can stick with. Something

that doesn't limit your calorie intake too severely, but still cuts

back enough so your Kcal intake is less than your expenditure.

So, do some research and tell us what you decide.

Keep the faith ! Your wife might think that you don't want a quilt, tell her you do!

Try deep breathing exercises, that may help prevent the panic attacks,

Hi ,

I don't quilt mine, i just tie them out... I don't have the talent to quilt... I'm making memory quilts by ironing pictures of each family on the 22 that i am doing now so they have something to remember me by... If ya Hint a little harder maybe she will get yours made :o)

I was just reading some of what you have been going through

:o( I'm so sorry that I wasn't on to talk too ya :o( Hopefully it will all calm down some now for ya that things are a little better and that you understand it a little more now... How is your family doing??? Cam ya recharge the batteries on your wheelchair??? Have missed ya...

wb Helen btw my wife loves to quilt she likes to make them then gives them away still has not made mine for me lol I guess I never get it but it still nice to think it is coming (smile) anyway me I doing soso pain is under control things are good at home still having panic attacks on a regular basis doc thinks it has something to do with my breathing because I breath shallow and he says he thinks my boys thinks it is not getting enough O2 so it try's to buy casing a panic attack buy triggering the part of my brain that thinks I am not breathing to me it is all weird I just want the attacks to stop or at least to have a lot less of them (smile) other then all that things are well in my life right now kneed new batteries for my wheel chair it not going as long as it used to but life is good as long as one is alive right (smile) I hope things are going well with you at this point and time in your life take care

Lynne - I just purchases Fat Burning Pilates and did it this morning. I loved it. I ordered Crunch Salsa Cardio and I will let you know how it is once I do it. Don't know about the others though.

I definately don't have much of an exercise video library and itinspires me to no end when you post workouts. I borrowed the following dvds from the library. Any comments? -Crunch Fat Burning Pilates-Natural Journeys Island Girl Dance Fitness Workout for beginners,Tahitian Cardio with Kili-Veena & Neena present Bellydance fitness for beginners;arms, abs,hips, buns, & thighsI would like to know if there is a salsa workout that anybody does? Hi Lynne, I have Veena and Neena's Bellydance "Basic Moves" and "Slim Down." I haven't done them in a while but I remember that I did like them :)

Oxygen and Women's Health are two I like. I also like Fitness RX (it

is a quarterly mag). I was disappointed to hear about Muscle and

Fitness Hers, too - but they are going to try to make Mucsle and

Fitness a unisex magazine. We'll see how that goes....I looked at las

months' but didnt like it much. They are still going to come out with

Muscle and Fitness Hers special editions so I'll keep my eye out for

those!!!

Welcome Back....I have a Sweet Potato recipe for you....

Sweet Potato Pancakes

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Mashed Sweet Potatoes (Cooled) 1 Egg white (Lightly Beaten)

3/4 Cup Skim Milk

3/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

Directions:

1. In a medium bowl, combine sweet potatoes, egg white and milk. Beat

until blended. Add the flour and the baking powder. Stir until smooth

2. Lightly coat a pan or griddle with Pam and heat stovetop to medium

3. Pour mix and cook until top of pancake is covered with tiny bubbles

and bottom is golden brown. Turn and cook other side.

Nutritional Facts (Using Lactaid Fat Free Milk):

Total Calories: 439

Makes 4 pancakes

Fat: 3g

Carb: 91 (77 Net)

Fiber: 14

Pro: 26g

Also....try Neutrogena Micro Mist Sunless Tanner, it is wonderful you

spray it on, your hands never touch it. I used it yesterday, and I have

to say you get a half-decent tan. I have used others and they can be a

pain in the butt! Don't forget to exfoliate before using them....you get

a smoother, even tan.

I've tried a couple of times to " wing it " - it's just too hard to stick

to it that way. Maybe it's me, but I *need* the planning - it's totally

worth it, though :)

There must be a reason so many of us are feeling worse right now. I don't know if it's the heat or just depression. Hope everyone see's an improvement soon.

I think it is the weather that is causing all the pain and depression.It is raining all the time here or high humidity.It is depressing.Take care hon

I know one thing for sure ... you HAVE to get into a

whole new mindset. You have to be tough with yourself

when it comes to eating stuff you know is going to put

weight on ya. I'd strongly suggest meditation but I

know with little kids that would be super hard, all I

can say is you know what you have to do, now find the

discipline within YOU to get it done. Take every day

as it comes and try to make tomorrow better. Good

luck I know you can do it! :D

Thanks that is a good idea to meditate or at least try. I lost

weight a long time ago and kept it off for awhile but then I gained

it back again. I am so depressed at where I am now.

Hey Kathy How are you? Welcome back. Surgery is a big step. I dont know how much you have to lose BUT in WW and any program take it in babysteps goals. Example I am 226 right now so my goal is 199 which is almost 10%. So take your weight and what is 10% and work on that now. House cleaning is calories. It is not sitting down. Since my kids are in school fulltime now I have been spiraling downwards. I am examining it and trying to make changes. Try flylady.net if you want some great cleaning tips to getting a routine going. Rule in my house is after school FRUIT only. I occasionally will consider applesauce fruit. On fridays they get Friday after school snack. They work hard all week and they get a treat. I usually do those little pies, debbie snack, pudding, something sweet. They so look forward to it. Make the M-TH not so bad. I buy individual ones so there are no leftovers. Dont forget portions, water, and exercise in any program.
