Hi Bonnie,

I found your message this morning to be very inspiring. You're right, we do see

lots of

elderly people who can barely walk. I don't want that for myself either. I've

just started

doing LifeLift and it's so easy I thought it wasn't working for me, that I

wasn't doing it

" correctly " -- ok, I've only been doing it for two days!!-- but this morning I

measured

myself and I've lost an astonishing amount of inches for just two days of

breathing!

Amazing! And when you said " I can bend and touch the floor with my palms " , I

thought,

yeah, that's what it's about, about being flexible and happy with ourselves in

our lives.And

however long my journey is to being healthy and well, that 's what mine

is....thanks for

your thoughts Bonnie, they have made a difference in my life and provided me

with a wider

perspective.

best, Meg

Bonnie,

Greetings from Austin, Texas....we miss you here! I have missed you on the

list too and always appreciated hearing your thoughts and ideas. I am very

happy to know that everything worked out for you to follow your dreams to

Florida.

By the way, I saw you mention EFT in another post and wanted to share that I

have been taking my daughter (age 13) to an EFT therapist here in Austin to deal

with her anxiety-induced OCD. We have been twice and I must say that the

results have been astounding. I really wanted to avoid medication for her and

the cognitive behavior therapy was not helping. Anyway, thank you for taking

the time to mention it as an alternative method for pain relief.

Enjoy those sunny days and let us hear from you!

Take care,

Gaylynn

Hi GayLynn,

Somehow we never did manage to meet for lunch when we both lived in

Austin - darn it anyway!

I am really interested in the EFT treatment that your daughter is

getting - I do the tapping myself and see results, and I participate

in a web group led by a professional EFT therapist - but I've never

seen a bona-fide expert " at work " - I imagine that everythig is so

much better than when you stumble through the process on your own....

At one point I called various EFT practitioners in the Austin area -

my youngest daughter is battling interstitial cystitis (essentially,

her bladder does not have the mucous coating that it needs to have -

very painful!) - I had hoped to try an EFT treatment on her during

her leave. It must have been during the holidays, and I couldn't

contact some of the listed EFTers, and the ones that I did said that

they couldn't successfully address a physical problem such as IC....

And when I tried to lead her through it, she just thought it

was " hokey " and would have none of it.

I got out of Austin at just the right time (for me)! The company

that I worked for laid off about half its employees just as I was

leaving, then was unable to meet payroll for the rest.... Hopefully

they get back on track (they're really working on it!) - I will do

their writing on a contract basis if they ever get back to that

point! And we can use the money for the extras (like traveling) that

we would like.

But do share your daughter's story/experience if you can - I for one

am VERY interested!

Welcome

You will love the group of LL buddies!

Hi everyone!

Hi I am new here:) I have done Oxycise and Bodyflex in the past with

some sucess but couldnt make a habit out of it, but now I have found

LifeLift, I love it and it couldnt of came at a better time in my

life either.

Back in Dec I watched a movie called The Secret , about the Law of

Attraction and another movie called What the Bleep do you know. They

are really about creating your life, and along the lines of positive

thinking, creative visualization and so forth. Really inspiring

movies though. So anyways After I got my LifeLift DVD I was really

busy chairing a Law of Attraction meet up group in my town and didnt

get to sit and really watch it, it got shoved to the side a little

bit. Yesterday I happened to going through some stuff that I had

piled up over the holidays and ran into it and put it on, I had

forgotten how much I love doing breathwork! And Rashelle is just so

beautiful and so soft spoken and her spirituality really comes out in

the video. I loved it. So I went by the website and I was reading

about her Victory theory things and stuff like that, very much like

the things I am into right now, which I thought was just a really

neat thing!

So I clicked to come to the group and I am just so happy that I

see some recent posts here! So I am just going to do some reading and

I will be here posting along with everyone!

About me

I am 33, I am a stay at home mom of 2 children and we live in

Northern Nevada.

I weigh about 167 right now, my goal is somewhere in the 120s, about

124 probabbly.

My main goal is just to get into sz 5/6's again before I go home to

IL this summer for a month with the kids .

I teach Tribal Belly Dance, its kept me toned even for being slightly

overweight, and I love Dance, but can not wait till I have a much

smaller body to show off while dancing! :)

I do know from in the past when I would use Oxycise off and on, if I

used it before dancing at the long drum circle performances or the

outside festivals which can be hours upon hours of dancing for me and

my girls, I would do the breath first and it was the only way I could

dance and dance and dance in the summer heat for hours like that.

I have a drum circle type performance this Friday night, its not a

full stage performance but its just dancing for really long drum

songs ..really long..lol

and I am going to do my LL breaths right before I go and then a few

extra right before my feet hit the floor, I am really excited to see

how long I can dance for !!

Welcome ,

This sounds very similar to the way I came to study

natural perfumery! Always thought I hated perfume

until I fell in love with naturals but have always

been very smell-oriented. Don't worry, we're not very

snobby here at all except when people try to push

synth perfumes on us! Then a few of us may get the

teeniest little bit standoffish ; ) but many of us are

just so passionate about naturals we can't help it.

Glad to have you in the group!

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say HI to all of you that I have been missing!

As you are WELL aware, this disease took a LOT of our time for the past 4

years. and caused a lot of strain and heart-ache-

BUT,

I am Super happy to let you know that Bob is doing well!

Yes, I said- Bob is doing well!

He returned to work about a month and a half ago- that is something that we

didn't think COULD happen- and not only has it happened, it has helped him

get even more back to doing things the way he used to.

His disease is being controlled by his clinical trial drug from the NIH and

a few (not as many) other drugs as well.

He has lowered his prednisone to 10mgs this past week and this has been the

breaking point for him in the past and thank god- he is about a week into

10mgs and NOT TOO Many issues.

This could be big for him!

He had his 2nd hip replaced in January and that seems to be doing well. The

infection is gone from his bursa. He played softball for the first time in 4

years-

He is helping with 's soccer team and really being involved in our

family and with friends.

I have waited for a time like this for SO LONG!

It's just wonderful!

Bob Colligon bought me floor tickets to go see- (don't laugh ANYONE) Barry

Manilow!

It was so fun and I was just happy that he is doing so well!

I hope that you will all find something to be happy about today too!

And wish you all good health. I'm sorry we will miss you in Vegas this year

but Bob will not have any days built up yet- and the ones he does have we

will be using for Disney with the boys!

Miss you guys! But I still read!!!!!

I have been meaning to post but since needed a tester I thought this

was a good time!!!

Take Care!

Hi and Welcome, Terri!

I have kids too (well, a kid - she's 4), and I find

the best time for me to workout is first thing in the

morning (I get up at an ungodly hour). On days when I

don't I " m just " off " and not as good at being a mom!

Just keep reminding yourself that you'll be a calmer,

more patient and more energetic mom if you workout! :)

Welcome!

hi terri welcome to the group.

i was a high school athlete so of course i had access to a gym but

when i moved to VA and had my daughter i kind of fell out of activity

for awhile. one morning i was up early and flipping through tv

channels when i got to denise austin. i started with her show for 15

mins and built up each week and then taped her shows and started doing

another half hour in the afternoon when my daughter slept. i know its

hard when kids are home thats why i did an early morning workout

before everybody got up(and still do) and an afternoon/evening

workout. right now its hard b/c dh has my bedroom filled with our old

kitchen chairs he is donating and its hard to do my yoga in front of

him since he is home so i can't say i don't fall off the wagon myself.

i aim for something each morning and i try to follow a rotation and

just choose a good video for that day that suits my needs and i have

to work for at least 20-30 min. maybe something to start with

there, and breaking up your workouts is not a bad thing either. its

suppose to help keep you energized and metabolism going and you still

get all your benefits of getting your workouts done on your time. if

you have netflix maybe renting some 10 min. solutions and tamilee's i

want that body, quick toning steel workouts, and her tight on time

might help keep things on track. there are also workouts put out by

quick fix and prevention with short workouts that are good and fit

into your schedule and most are programmable so if you have time for a

longer workout you can program the dvd that way. the shorter workouts

have been a life saver for my exercising b/c i don't always have time

for the full hour.

Another mom here! My girls are 10, 7, and 2 and we homeschool. I get up around 7 and put on a sportsbra and some shorts and head for the basement and do Pilates for 30 minutes. After that the baby is starting to wake up and I grab her and wake up her sisters. The big girls get dressed, make their beds, and get breakfast while the baby and I head back to the basement for another 30 minutes of a cardio dvd or I throw her in the backpack and I jump on the treadmill. I used to try to " find time " to work out, but it was just never there. Especially as my big girls have gotten older and our home education stuff gets more intense, there is nothing left of me at the end of the day. I have to get up and do my exercise first thing and find a way to safely incorporate the baby. I am motivated by seeing my belly flab shrinking! I have no desire to wear a bikini, but I'd like to get to where I could wear one, if I wanted to. And I feel really good about myself when I stick to my exercise routine. It sets a good example for the kids too.

Hi Terri!

I saw your posting a while back but am finally getting around to waving and saying hi!

That's great that you were an aerobics instructor, maybe you can help me with my 2 left feet (feels like I have 3 most of the time)!

Finding motivation seems to be the eternal sticking point for everyone here. We all seem to go through times where we're not motivated or we get out of our routine and it is hard to get back into it. For me, just reading the posts on this group reminds me how much I really enjoy working out and trying new things so reading eventually gets me off the butt and into my workout room (a very tiny spare room in my basement). As for a routine, I've found that you really do have to find some way to make fitness a priority. It is so difficult as a mom with little kids underfoot but if you can get up before they normally do or just do short workouts during naptime, that's at least something. There are some GREAT 10 and 15 minute workout videos out there (10 Minute Solution has lots of different ones) and even if you can just fit in one or two of those in a day that's doing something fabulous for your health and sanity! Find a time that usually works with the understanding that you have to be flexible. Then promise yourself you will do at least something (5 minutes, 10 minutes whatever you feel like you can spare, don't feel like you have to work out for 30 or 60 minutes to make it "worthwhile") and mark it on your calendar. Then when you do it, post it here so we can all celebrate with you and put a sticker on your calendar or something else to remind you how awesome you are that you did it! Then remember how good all that feels and do it again the next day and the next until it becomes habit. We love to celebrate everyone's achievements, no matter how small they might seem to you we still have lots of fun telling you how wonderfully you did! :-) Knowing that I'm going to post my workouts makes me want to do them, I look forward to responses I get about my postings and I enjoy commenting on other people's too. Knowing that if I stop posting my workouts for a while might get me an email asking if I'm still out here also makes me want to do my workouts so that I can post them! In other words, this group really helps me stay accountable and I really need that help!

Anyway, I hope that gives you some ideas, we're glad you've joined and will all look forwarding to reading about your workouts and cheering you on too!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Terri and I joined the group to see what videos are out there that work well. I actually taught aerobics a few years back and had tons of videos on VHS to get inspiration for classes, but got rid of them recently to switch over to DVDs. I did keep my "buns of steel" tapes though because they are just too awesome to let go.I have discovered the Firm DVDs and I like them, but unfortunately I bought them without the special step and have had to try to make due without it. I'm hoping to find one cheap somewhere (maybe Ebay???)I also was recently informed of a website (yogatoday.com) that let's you view workouts for free everyday and I am liking that as well. They won't let you download them to keep yet, but that is supposed to be something they are working on.Working out with videos or from online sources is a must for me because I'm a SAHM and a gym membership is just not in the budget. I don't get a lot of time to workout either and have to fit it in around naptime or in the evening after the kids go to bed. I'm out of shape from having my 2nd (not 14 mos old, so I have to get my butt in gear to get rid of this belly flab!), but have had a hard time finding motivation/or finding some system to make a routine stick. I'd love to hear suggestions on what you do to stay motivated.

Hi, Connie. You know I was telling my fellow Senior Division karate buddy the

other day that the weather was driving me crazy. I'm hot or cold, all night

long, constantly pulling on or taking off covers. She laughed and reminded me

that I'm 47 and it's probably hot flashes. At any rate, I started taking Maca

(an adaptogenic herb) for thyroid and adrenal issues. Low and behold I noticed

that when I take the Maca, I don't have the fluctuations in body temperature. I

started researching on the internet and found that it is indeed good for just

that very thing.

It's not very expensive and it's certainly worth every penny.

Love,

Melinda :o)
