Welcome to the our group , you found the right place to be for great support . Doctors now days will treat the side effects so that you can complete treatment . I know its real hard , I have tried 3 times . . I am treating again , I started with my injections today . Treatment isnt always easy but its so worth it to great rid of it , LOL . Communicate all your side effects to your doctor and most are easily treatable . Good luck and once again welcome

I'm new to the group but not to Hep C. I have had it for about 15 yrs. now. I tried the treatment once but got so sick I quit right away. My husband, who has Hep C also has taken the treatment and so far, so good. It's been a year since he finished. I'm getting ready to try the treatment again in January and am scared to death after the first try. I have a different Dr. who I think will be more sympathetic and work with me more than the first one did. Hopefully I'll make it all the way through this time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just finished my 2nd of treatment. So far so good!! I am genotype 1a, and yes the first round of treatment was hmmmm not the easiest for me. But this time, well while it wasn't a party. It was alot easier. *smile* I am glad the 48 weeks are over. But for the most part, I lived through it. LOLMostly because I laugh at the dragon, Bwa haa haa. You will find that I have a wicked sense of humor, and not much gets me down. Oh thank you for a good anti-depressant!! Living here has it's benefits too. It is a likable place really. I've

just had a pretty fullon month and am feeling it a bit.

While we were away my husband liked to eat out. The country pubs have

good meals at great prices. I was so over it though. Sitting in those

chairs uncomfortable, meals always taking so long, leaving me with

limited options with the occasion when I had to try steak and often

it was not happening (luckily I had my lovely dog with me to give it

to her after),and ending up getting to bed far too late. Under normal

conditions I would have enjoyed all this. These days it just wears me

down.

We also took some days off to go to the Barossa Valley for my

husbands birthday. This is a famous wine growing area in South

Australia with a real german flair. I love it there, but it was a

real damper on it when I was not really up to pace with everyone, I

could not fully enjoy myself.

I was always the energetic one setting the pace and now I can't keep

up. It's hard some days to take. I took bicycles expected to start

physio and work on getting some energy back and ride a tiny amount

with the girls and never touched the bike.

Sorry I don't mean to be negative, just sitting up at 3.30am with a

sore chest and can't sleep. At least I am now home and can get onto

this group again instead of sitting in bed staring at the wall all

night.

Dear ,

I am fine thank you. You need have no concerns about me. I think you need to remind yourself that it is still early days for you and that it wasn't just the surgery that you had to face. That on its own would have been enough to contend with but you had to care for your daughter too amongst all the other things that were going on for you at the time.

I do not think that it is negative thinking to admit your limitations. In fact, it is a positive move. You need to give yourself a bigger chance. Also it may have been rather demanding to go on a vacation at this time. It's much easier to be at home where there are fewer demands and expectations. It's more comforting to sleep in your own bed as well.

Please try to relax a little more and give yourself chance to really heal and get back your strength and well-being.

Hi Tina, I'm doing bills today. Kind of stressful, but other then that I guess I am doing okay. Got my nails done yesterday. Got some fake ones put on, so it is hard to type, but I'll get used to them. I heard people say you have to feel good about yourself now and so I thought I would splurge and make myself feel good by getting nails done. They are like a toy to me. I just love getting my nails done. It is kind of a reward for all I have lost so far. I still have a few more pounds to lose before I get into the 200's. I was hoping to be there by this weekend, but I'm not going to make it. I am shy about 2 pounds. For some reason today I am just not wanting to exercise. Do you have that problem? I just don't want to do it. I know I should but.... Guess I kind of have to be in the mood. I ate a meal on the go bar for breakfast and a glass of milk. Now I'm having a bottle of water. That is all I have had so far today. Maybe I'm just not into exercising and all that because this is the main bill day of the month and I have all that to do. I pay all my main bills on the third of each month. It can get me pretty stressed. I'm trying to put my worries into God's hands, but some times that is just so hard. I give them to God and then for some reason I take them back. Wish I was to a point where I could just leave them there. Well, taking a break I haven't even had my shower yet and it is 12:32. For breakfast I had 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 slices of 35 calorie toast, orange Juice, and a banana. And for a snack I had Dannon light -N- Fit yogurt, I dont know what Im having for lunch yet. In saying that I hope to be there for Christmas in 2008 to stay with

friends in Ohio, not far from you I would say. We don't know waht a

white christmas would be like.

-Thanks Anne and I am. Some days it can get harder to be positive

when you are low. I always look to tomorrow bering a better day. I

have been taking the B complex and my chest has settled this week. I

don't feel like it is going to explode into pain all the time. I

think the vitamins have been a help. I have been in the pool each

morning doing a few strethes and for the first time have swum

carefully a few laps. Before this I alway got chest pains to use my

arms. I am going to jinx it by doing too much though.

I should be doing bills today - but I'm putting it off LOL. how are you liking the nails? you have to feel good about yourself, it makes this journey so much easier. you'll be out of the 2's in no time at all! It's so east to put off working out even we know that when we finish we fill great. I have to tell myself every morning - ok you've gone to the bathroom, had your smoke - now get moving. It helps that I start with the situps right there in bed - if I get through that most mornings I can get to the bike and the urban rebounder LOL. This months bills are driving me batty because I paid for my daughters plates, tranfer etc on a new car and she is going to pay me back by paying some bills on her credit card (she's between pay periods etc). I just need to sit down and figure it out. I hope today is better :)

I'm doing bills today. Kind of stressful, but other then that I guess I am doing okay. Got my nails done yesterday. Got some fake ones put on, so it is hard to type, but I'll get used to them. I heard people say you have to feel good about yourself now and so I thought I would splurge and make myself feel good by getting nails done. They are like a toy to me. I just love getting my nails done. It is kind of a reward for all I have lost so far. I still have a few more pounds to lose before I get into the 200's. I was hoping to be there by this weekend, but I'm not going to make it. I am shy about 2 pounds. For some reason today I am just not wanting to exercise. Do you have that problem? I just don't want to do it. I know I should but.... Guess I kind of have to be in the mood. I ate a meal on the go bar for breakfast and a glass of milk. Now I'm having a bottle of water. That is all I have had so far today. Maybe I'm just not into exercising and all that because this is the main bill day of the month and I have all that to do.

I have a bad back - so it helps LOL and boy I feel them - I think it ws last week I did 7 reps of 12 - stood up and got a charlie horse across my gut - owwwwwwwww urban rebounding http://www.urbanrebounding.com/ - it's a 40 inch mini tramp - heavy duty they use them at Bally's etc. Ok - I can only do a few minutes for now - kills my calfs. It's gentler than standard (I kept seeing the informercial - one of the local sporting goods store carried it so I got it - no patience for delivery LOL). They have 20 videos. Cost seems to always be a factor. Before the price of gas, heating and electric

went sky high, I saw how the health benefits of organic foods out weighted the

cost. It still does but sadly because of the high cost of everything else, makes

it harder to spend the extra when you could skimp by buying ready made,

processed foods.

So I am doing more like " grandma " use to do. When we have any meats with bones,

the bones are saved for stock later (just freeze them in a zip lock bag and add

to it as you get more). Then the stock is used to make split pea soup, bean soup

or what ever soup sounds good. That with a homemade loaf of sourdough bread

makes a well balanced meal. (add any left over meats and veggies to the soups

too)

Remember, soups, stews, chills, hot dish and such makes a meal stretch much

farther and keeps the cost low.

Get a grain mill. You can get grains at fairly good prices and if you sprout,

dry and then grind, well, that's even better! Then bake from scratch. This is

not only healthier but tastes much better too!

Grow what ever you can your self! Raise hens if you can, garden!!! This is our

number one way to get healthy foods. Nothing better than having a nice bon fire

on a warm evening and baking spuds just dug from the garden. Plus you can make

hard " boiled " eggs by placing then around the outer edges of the pit where they

get indirect heat. Takes a bit but well worth the work. Oh, turn them often and

do expect to loose a few eggs to explosions before you get it down pat.

Remember to take Cod Liver Oil, this alone will save lots of $$$$ in medical

bills!

Cut out all white sweeteners and keep any honey, raw sugar and such to a

minimum.

Wash cloths ONLY when they really are dirty! Kids need play cloths for play and

good cloths for outings. Only wash the good cloths if they need it. If they are

only worn for the outing and then play cloths are put on right away at home,

saves a lot of money in washing and wear and tare. Play cloths can get down

right awful before washing. Then hang the washed cloths out doors to dry.

Make your own cleaners for around the house. I use baking soda to wash the tub

and sinks. I only use a chemical toilet bowl cleaner and that only when company

comes (I like the potty not only to be clean but look it too! we have really

hard rusty water). Other wise I use the soda there too. For walls, windows,

mirrors, counters I use a mix of 1 part rubbing alcohol, 1 part white vinegar

and 3 parts water. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil if you want.

To dust, this is my very best hint of all! Buy the cheapest bottle of baby oil

you can find. Use that to dust with instead of pledge and such. This not only

does the best job but it repeals the dust for weeks cutting down on dusting

time! I have even used it on the TV screen! I turn off the tube, wipe the front

with the dust rag and then use a clean cloth till I can not see any of the oil

on it. Works great!

I guess what I am saying here is, you can save in other places so you can better

afford the right types of foods for your family.

I seem to recall that there was a farm in Jordan that sold raw milk if you

brought your own container for

them to fill. Does anyone else know something about this?

In fact, I went to the St Farmer's Market this past Saturday and

the Cedar Summit vendors said that it was their last day at the

market. I'm not sure why... they're getting older and may be tired of it.
