I also used to show dogs in obedience and conformation. We were getting involved with agility (even had a course in my backyard), but we ended up getting out of the whole thing. I miss it so much and hope to someday get back involved.

Hi Sara and welcome. You say she has all of her shots, but not on time. Is that

because you were advised by a doctor to put them off due to her illness and

We weren't really advised either way, we were just told that once we

were out of the hospital and back home that she would be cought up by

her PCP. To be honest I never really asked another question about it.

My husband and I had all of our vaccinations so I never really thought

about it until recently. She had all of her Newborn Shots(DTaP,HepB,

Hib,IPV) at 2 months and 5 days(i am looking at her record). So no she

did not recieve HepB at birth, the only way it can be delayed is in

rare circumstances when the mother is HBsAG negitive and there are

doctors orders not to give it. I now wonder why she wasn't allowed to

have shots at birth was it fear that they could harm her heart or just

standard procedure with heart kids facing surgery? No clue on that but

I am planning to try and find out. Oh and what the is the IPV shot? I

just can't believe I didn't think to ask any of this when she was

getting these shots what was I thinking?

There is NO mandate law for vaccines at birth, only connected with school

and then there are exemptions.

Her hep b shot is probably on her hospital record and not your record.

the body. Also depends on the areas that the person is weak in.

Her Hep B shot is on my record from her doctor, I have most of her

medical records. I couldn't find any record of her being given any

shots at birth in her records from the hospital where she was born it

made note that she was to be transfered and no shots were given.

Hey Maya Welcome. Dorm food is a struggle. I have a nephew in college. Do you eat on campus like a place where you could at least make some better choices. OR maybe invest in a microwave to at least do better snacks. Let the gals know your routines and I am sure we can come up with some ideas for you. Do you eat in your room OR do you have to go to a dinning hall? 30 pounds for your first goal is a great start. It is more attainable if you look at it in small goals.

Hi Maya and welcome! Never had to do the college food issue, so others might be able to help, but I would recommend staying away from fried, greasy foods with lots of sauces. Stick to healthier choices with fruits n veggies. I am certainly sure that others in this group have or will provide better answers LOL....

The calorie counting book from www.CalorieKing.com is really a good one to have. Very complete & thorough. I'm also a member of calorieking.com & have their desktop version.

It does about the same thing as the online version. I just like having it on my desktop. The way it is laid out in the desktop version appeals to me visually & is easier for me to see what is going on. They do have a free 7-day trial -- give it a try. I got it but was just wondering if the online gave you benifits the desktop didn't. I don't see any point in joining if it is the same as the desktop version. I havent opened it yet and looked at it but it sounds good. I'm gonna try it out as soon as i get supper cooked and son off to work. That way I won't be interupted while giving it a looksee.

Hi, I'm Maya, I am new here, I am 284 pounds and my first goal tolose is 30 pounds.I had a question for thoes of you who are in the know:I live on a College Campus, so I am basically confined to dorm food, Itry to make educated guesses on the calories--is there any way I canimprove my accuracy?Also, I have been trying dance videos to help me lose weight inprivate--but I am hoplessly uncordinated.
