Guest guest
Hello-this is my intro. note, My name is and my husband Joe and I have 2 children, Jake who is 4 and Molly 5months. jake had a reaction to his first DPT-high pitched screaming that stopped and started for hrs. and his leg was all swollen and red for days. His Dr. at that time talked us into the acellular DPT for the second dose which I found out soon after that that it was not approved for children under 18 months at that time. After I did some research and talked to a neighbor whose daughter ended up in awalker and now is in a wheel chair with a feeding tube and can't speak, we decided to hold off on any further vaccinations. Molly was born at home and our family doctor is very supportive of our decision. We also have a homeopathic Dr and she has written us medical exemptions for Jakes pre-school. Our next hurdle will be Kindergarden and our school choice-we may possiblly send Jake to a catholic school. I know a med. exemption for public school probobly would not be an issue but private schools don't have to take you. I look forward to learning more about immunizations and the most current research. Guest guest
The Catholic church is sometimes understanind to the fact that some of the vaccines are made from aborted fetal cells. I have an exemption letter written by a Catholic friend of mine if you need it. I'd have to type it in AND I have aborted fetal information I'm trying to get on my web page. It all takes time Kel LiteMarek@... wrote: > From: LiteMarek@... > > Hello-this is my intro. note, > My name is and my husband Joe and I have 2 children, Jake who is 4 > and Molly 5months. jake had a reaction to his first DPT-high pitched > screaming that stopped and started for hrs. and his leg was all swollen and > red for days. Guest guest
, I posted several months ago information on the Catholic church and exemptions for Catholics. If you would like it let me know...I can resend it directly to you. There are a couple people who I know, including myself, who went and talked with the priest regarding vaccines and our beliefs. In each case the priest supported the decision. in Ct LiteMarek@... wrote: > > From: LiteMarek@... > > Hello-this is my intro. note, > My name is and my husband Joe and I have 2 children, Jake who is 4 > and Molly 5months. jake had a reaction to his first DPT-high pitched > screaming that stopped and started for hrs. and his leg was all swollen and > red for days. Please ask any questions too, we are all here to learn about vaccinations and vaccine-related issues. >> Hi, I am le mommy to 4 yo Marisa , 17 mo Jordan and 10 week old Christian . My 4 yo and 17 mo are fully vaccinated to their age levels. With Christian I have been a bit weary of vaccinating. I have pretty much taken the natural approach with him since the beginning. I believe that being a mommy for these past 4 years has taught me things that I wish I had know from the beginning. Christian was born at home on his due date June 15th at 3:13 am. He was born quietly and gently into a room light with candles and one low light for the camcorder. I have chosen not to circumcise, a decision I went rounds over with dh. Our first son is circumcised, but like I said I have learned so much from being a mommy. (My dd has taught me how to be the mommy I want to be to a daughter and ds has taught me how to mother a son. I am now putting to use what I have learned about mothering a son.) I have taken Christian to get 2 shots, the hep b and the dtap. I was considering having him vaccinated slowly with no more than 2 shots at a time. I took him to the department of health and the nurses there were rude!! They told me I would have to make more trips if I didn't let them give him 4 shots that day. I didn't mind, after all I won't vaccinate my son(if I decide to) according to my convenience. Anyway, I read somewhere today that if you do decide to vaccinate then atleast wait until 6 months of age. So, for the time being all I have decided is to investigate further. Well, that along with waiting atleast to 6 months. So I have some time to make my decision and read up. I would love links anyone has on vaccinations. Please keep in mind I have already had my first 2 kids vaccinated, I don't want to feel terribly guilty about having done that since I cannot change that. I would love links on side effects and that kinda thing, not stories on what the shots did to kids. TIA and I look forward to getting to know everyone. Guest guest
Hi Dani! My homepage has lots of links to websites. It's at http://pages.ivillage.com/ps/carrielea I also have info on alternative health options, which can help to reverse any ill effects your children might develop from their shots. It's a must if you really want to try to detox their bodies as much as you can from the possible effects of the chemicals. I hope it will not make you feel guilty. What's the saying Oprah always says " we did then what we knew how to do, and now that we know better, we DO better " . You have to admit that you only did what you knew best at the time. Although I knew about vaccinating, I didn't know everything about circumcision. This is my " guilt " - but if I have another son, I will not do it again now that I " know better " - just like you. That's the important thing - that we learn from our knowledge and not repeat the same mistakes.
Guest guest
I had a baby girl last month and we are leary of vaccinations, and therefore trying to educate ourselves about them before making any decisions which is what brings me to this list. In the meantime, we will not be doing any. And if we do decide to selectively vaccinate, it won't be until she is much older, such as age 2. A little about us: I'm 30, married to Tom age 36, we live near Boulder CO and I'm a stay-home mom that is doing Attachment Parenting. My baby girl's name is Brenna Caroline, she is almost 5 weeks old. She has her own website at http://www.melyssa.com/brenna Mel > >Once you have received this note please take the time and post an introduction >to the group. Guest guest
Hello, My name is Barbara. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mother of 3 wonderful kids. almost 7, Myles almost 4, and our newest treasure, almost 7 months. My first birth was in a hospital and was immunized until she was 4. She got most of the major ones, but they didn't do Hep B (I think), Varicella or Rotavirus back then. She didn't seem to have any reactions, but is VERY active and has almost constant sinus/allergy problems. I know this will sound strange and I'm not even sure I can fully explain it, but breastfeeding her changed me in very profound ways. It was probably a combination of actually having a baby and the experience of breastfeeding combined, but I am a shadow of my former self (and I don't mean skinny) and have never looked back!! Well, almost never. Myles was born at home with a CNM. Even before his birth, I started having questions about vaccines and vaccine policy. Our midwife is anti-vac. After his wonderful birth I started reading about immunizations. After much discussion and debate, my husband and I decided not to continue immunizing our children. Page after page of vaccine reaction horror stories was too much for me. What I really wanted to know (and what no one seemed able to answer) was what is the actual risk to my child of contracting one of these diseases and then dying from it. When I found the fatalities from many of these diseases is actually quite small it got me thinking. My children are breastfed (for a long time), don't go to day care, and are being raised in an era with much better standards of cleanliness and advances in medical technology. If there were only 4 cases of diptheria, what is the chance that my child will get it--almost NIL. Well, one thing led to another and I started reading more and more. I'm not even sure I even believe in the vaccine theory anymore. I certainly don't believe that you can inject that much poison into an infant's body without some type of consequence. I still have questions and concerns and am hoping to learn more from the members on this list. Hope this hasn't been too long and boring. It is hard to know where to start (and when to stop) with such a complex and volitile issue. =====
Guest guest
Hello everyone,I am new to the list. I have chosen not to vaccinate my children any further, especially after I know whats in them, and the damage they can cause. My son started having febrile seizures after his second DPT shot, and that was when he was a baby. Now he just has seizures about once a month . He is not on medications. My son is a very healthy active kid,and I attribute that to nursing him for 2 and a half years. He is having problems in school with reading and with his bahavior. I am very interested in homeopathy and natural remedys.
Guest guest
I just wanted to take a minute and say hello to this group. My name is Dawnn and my daughter Mikayla is 10mo old. Up untill now I choose to vaccinate because I really didn't know any better. Upon meeting some new people I have been considering not doing anymore and not vaccinating any future children. I'm looking forward to reading all the information you all have and your help in finding the answers were looking for. I will be looking into past posts for more info as soon as I get a chance. I also was wondering if anyone on this list knows of a good ped in the Vacnouver or Longview area of Washington. I know that the ped clinic i'm at now will not be very helpful in my search for answers. Especially after my last visit when the ped told me I needed to start discipling my 9mo old by teaching her the word NO. That's a whole other story. Any referrals would be great. Guest guest
Hi, Dawn - My name is Teri, and my son is 6 months old. He received 2 shots, but then we also stopped his vaccinations. I just joined this list about a month ago. There is a lot of helpful information here! We currently live in San Diego, but will probably be moving to Tacoma area in March, so I was excited to see that you were up in that area too! Welcome!
