Guest guest
We have chosen not to vaccinate our children, not because of an informed decision, but because of the damage sustained by a Dpt vaccine to our oldest child. had a " classical " reaction to her first Dpt vaccine nineteen years ago when there was very little or no discussion of vaccine damage. When she was three months old, she received her first Dpt. Within approximately 10 hours she was screaming uncontrollably and began having little " jerks " , later diagnosed as infantile spasms. Being a very young mother, the pediatrician felt I was being too anxious in feeling there was something wrong After she had had her second Dpt shot two months later at the age of five months, her development dropped back to that of a newborn. All she would do was nurse and sleep. She didn't play or hold her head up and these little 'jerks " were becoming an every day throughout the day occurrence. I consulted another pediatrician and from there our life has never been the same. is now 19 years old and functions on the level of a 9 to 12 month old. She has a severe seizure disorder that has never been fully controlled even after 5 cranial surgeries for seizures. She has most recently developed neuromuscular scoliosis and has had three surgeries in the last 10 months to try to manage this new condition. We have five other children (three boys and two girls) and needless to say vaccination has never been an issue for them. I look forward to being on this e-mail list not only for our benefit, but in hopes that whatever support I can give to others through discussions or sharing of experiences, will make what happened to a more positive event. She is a blessing to our family and has taught our other children a level of acceptance and tolerance to them that my husband and I could never have achieved. I can only fathom the heartache you experienced when your dtr became ill and the anger you felt when doctors didn't acknowledge the cause. When I was gathering information to make a decicision 'to vaccinate or not' I remember coming across a story of a little boy named cody (which is my sons name) having a similar reaction to the DTP and how he was never the same again. It really disgusts me that our culture trully believes that it is worth the sacrifice of a few in order for the 'whole' to become stronger. It isn't moral...and I'm sure if it happened to their child, they wouldn't feel the same. Doctors have no place in playing god, by poking their toxic needles in our children - some live, some die, and some are never the same again. My heart goes out to you in all that you have endured. Guest guest
> Hello everyone and thanks to for welcoming me on the list. As she so kindly asks I'll try to make a short summary of introduction and presentation. First I understand that the great majority on this list are based in the States (maybe I am wrong and I really hope so). I am based in Belgium (Europe) and am the mother of a lovely months old boy. I've been healing myself for about years with homeopathy and lately work much more with aromatherapy and very much with flower essences. My whole pregnancy has been followed by a homeopathic gyneacologist and is being followed by a homeopathic pediatrician. When it came to vaccines, that is to say he was (still is but in another one) in a daycare center (well center is a big word as this lady only kept three babies), this center is supervised (as the great majority) by a national entity called ONE (Office National de l'Enfance-Children Health Care) The law in Belgium only imposes polio vaccination. This ONE though imposes nearly the whole serie of vaccinations with a planning they " suggest " . As I am dealing with the homeopathic philosophy, psychosomatic side of diseases, I am thus very much more concerned about the psychological aspect of myself first, and of course my child ( at his age he is of course very much dependent on my emotional state - even though he already has his own way of dealing with things). This philosophy brought me to the belief that every disease being caused by a emotional state - thus bringing the body into a state of openness to any illness - on the other hand, starting to really take the responsibility for my life and all that happens to us as being the result of our creation, I started wondering about " why vaccine? " . Why another " umbrella " ? Then being pushed by this ONE (if you don't want to vaccine, we don't accept your child anymore in a daycare center - you should find someone else ... - nice blackmail), my lovely mother took me to a conference of an incredible doctor that yes gives the vaccination but homeopatically. Woaw, that was exactly what I needed !!! So my little has indeed been vaccined for polio and tetanos but in what I consider a proper way that is to say giving his cells the information about the disease, not the disease itself - dead or alive, who cares ? (get the difference ???). Now I have this wonderful doctor and feel is safe. To the list, I will be moving to Israel at the end of the year, will have one or two more babies there, can anyone enlighten me on the situation over there ? I heard they are not yet very strong on homeopathy, and what about the vaccine legislation ? Thanks for any answer or tip where I could get the information. And I am very happy to be on this list and realize a tremendous amount of people deal this same point of view (whichever background) the aim is the same, thanks God. Guest guest
shalom dominique, please, before you leave belgium, send us those homeopathic ob's and pediatricians, there is an acute shortage of that type in the usa!!! with regard to israel, i'm not sure about the legal situation on vaccines, but do prepared for a fight. and being pregnant over there is no fun, they impose just about every test in existence on the foetus... this was the situation less than two years ago, and i doubt it has changed. a friend of mine, 25 years old, with absolutely no history in her family of diseases, had to go through virtually every test there is, including the one to check for down's syndrome (sorry, forgotten the medical term for it). at such a young age? that really put me off moving there. until then, i was seriously considering it. instead, my son avi was born in california, so i only have to fight the school system to 'safe' my daughter sara from being vaccinated... i am pretty sure, though, that there are loopholes in the israeli system, so find out as much as you can before you get pregnant over there... love and light claudia ---Dominique LEMAIRE <DLemaire.ELF.UE@...> wrote: > > From: Dominique LEMAIRE <DLemaire.ELF.UE@...> > > > Hello everyone and thanks to for welcoming me on the list. > > As she so kindly asks I'll try to make a short summary of introduction and > presentation. > > First I understand that the great majority on this list are based in the States > (maybe I am wrong and I really hope so). > I am based in Belgium (Europe) and am the mother of a lovely months old boy. > > I've been healing myself for about years with homeopathy and lately work much more > with aromatherapy and very much with flower essences. > > My whole pregnancy has been followed by a homeopathic gyneacologist and is > being followed by a homeopathic pediatrician. > > When it came to vaccines, that is to say he was (still is but in another one) in a > daycare center (well center is a big word as this lady only kept three babies), > this center is supervised (as the great majority) by a national entity called ONE > (Office National de l'Enfance-Children Health Care) The law in Belgium only imposes > polio vaccination. Guest guest
HI everyone! I am Sue and a few days new to the group! Already I appreciate the help I have gotten here (printed out just yesterday " what to say to your ped!! " thanks so much!!) I refused the chicken pox vaccine for my (one) year old twins just two weeks ago. I have been doing alot of reading and am pretty sure I DO NOT want to vaccinate my children any further (they had the regular shots as infants, I did not even know to question them!!!!) I am getting alot of pressure from everyone (including close friends in the medical profession) TO vaccinate, so I am here for support, help, and info!! I am so sorry to hear of those here who have suffered from vaccine-injury!! My heart goes out to you and your families!! Love Sue (mom to Talia & Tanner 12/22/97) > Hello, > > Welcome to the list. Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am a few days new to the list as well (like you, Sue!) I am mother to our daughter, Via, who is now 16months... (Also like Sue,) Via has been vaccinated up until now except for the Chicken Pox vaccine.... which actually was the one that initiated me to research.... I have really begun to regret my decision (or lack there of, actually... because I didn't even think to ask....) I'm reading all sorts of books (Thanks to those who posted the names of them....) We're planning on having other children and I want to be well informed ahead of time this time... and hopefully learn from mistakes and pray that Via remain healthy... We feel Via is the most wonderful gift from God.... we practice what we figured out later was attachment parenting... it just came naturally and we feel so connected as a family! Thank you for all the information and I look forward to becoming more knowledgeable thru your posts.... ashleigh and dan <><

Over the last year, I have been collecting data about vaccinations and I have suspended all immunizations of my children. I am very comfortable with my decision, and now I am trying to learn how to best treat some of the illnesses my child and I may come down with. I do not believe in " western " medicine, with some exceptions like emergency and cosmetic, and I am interested on how people have treated measles, mumps, etc. homeopathically or herbally. Herbal medicine is something I have a lot of experience with, and recently I have been using a lot of classical homeopathy as well, but I have no direct experience in treating measles, mumps, etc. etc. I do know of a bunch of different herbs and homeopathic treatments, but which ones have you actually used with success? Obviously, although the risk is very low, there are some severe complications associated with these " normal " childhood illnesses. For instance, how have people avoided subacute schlerosising panencephalitis? As a general rule, I DO NOT lower fevers in the ill--not allopathically, herbally, or homeopathically, but what about the long-term fever that can accompany measles? Do any of you lower fever after 48 hrs? If so, do you think that it lengthened the duration of the disease? I have a lot of questions about treatment, and I am VERY interested in discussing this with people who have direct experience (i.e. your children or yourself) in handling the diseases outside " western " modalities. Also, I myself am not vaccinated against MMR, have any of you fallen ill when your children have? Did you suffer from severe case of the disease? Well, I have SO many other questions, but I do not want to post a marathon letter. Thanks so much. BTW, my name is Getra but everyone calls me " G. " The following is m bio from my BF list. Welcome to the list *G* ....coming from a young first time mama I have yet to deal with treating any serious illness. Although I have researched herbal/homeopathic treatment quite extensively. There are several books that I have found invaluable - Homeopathy in Epedemic Diseases - Author: Dr. Dorothy Shepherd. In this book she discusses the use of nosodes and other 'classical' remedies for treatment (as well as prophylaxis- which is quite contraversial) of diseases such as: measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, chicken pox, polio, cholera, typhoid, typhus, scarlet fever, diptheria, so on....I found it very informative for the lay reader as well as an 'expert'. Another resource that has been invaluable is - Alternative Medicine: The difinitave guide...this book covers all branches of holistic medicine (arometherapy, yoga, homoepathy, herbal, juice therapy, nutritionalist - very well rounded) I wish I could be of more help to you, but there are many here on this list who will offer their guidance and wisdom. Guest guest
Aloha G, I am an R.N. on Maui working part-time in Labor and delivery and nursery I used to be pro western medicine, but not so much anymore. After having my first child after 15 years of infertility and teaching others how to breast feed when I had my own, I realized my baby never " read " the book! I found out how little health pro's know about BF and found some new and interestic research. After vaccinating new borns with hep b and doining 100's of hours of research, I have learned to not take anything for granted that anyone says to discover the truth for myself. While I was researching the vaccine issue I found some interesting research done with magnets and people that have post polio sysndrom. Polio cases in the last 30 years in the US have come only from the vaccine. The company that makes these products is from Japan where 1 in 8 people use them and Japan spends alot less in health care then us and is rated number 1 in health by the WHO. In contrast the US spends the most and is rated # 43 Japan spends the bulk of the money on prevention. A very good friend of mine was involved in this company and we had been in business in the past. Anyway, in a few short months I have been totally convinced in the value of these products. They do not work wonders for everyone, but for many they do and for prevention, I have no doubts in my mind. I am healthy but get alot of colds. Non yet since I started using them. My son has asthma and so far I have used the products twice on him and he was fine and since he sleeps on them now he has been great. There are alot of people with autoimmune problems like MS arthritis etc that this has been fantastic for. I guess it impressed me because the results were often swift and dramatic so I knew it was because of the products, no guessing. It works very well with animals too. Most people want it for those dramatic results but they are really most effective for prevention. Aloha Marcy PS I have not yet seen how it works with fever or if it does anything with fever at all. There are many theories on how it works but no one really knows From: MooMomTo2@... Guest guest
hi G, welcome to the list. i've been treating my children homeopathically, herbally and with reiki healing, sara, 9 years for the past 5 years and avi, 13 months, since he was born. with regard to your questions, i can answer a couple: i've never had chicken pox, both sara had it when she was 6 and avi had it a month ago, and i never contracted it. plus my neighbor had shingles a week before avi got chicken pox, i didn't get that either. i never had mumps, despite being sent to anyone who had mumps when i was a child (and there were loads!). with regard to your question on fever: if my child is really uncomfortable while running a fever, i'll treat homeopathically. but if he/she seems fine except for the fever, i will not do anything. having said that, i have to admit that none of my children have ever run a fever higher than about 100F. i'm not quite sure what i would do if the fever runs higher than that, but i assume they would feel uncomfortable then anyhow, so i would start treating with homeopathy. hope this helps. love and light claudia ---MooMomTo2@... wrote: > > From: MooMomTo2@... > > In a message dated 2/4/99 10:03:46 PM Eastern Standard Time, Vaccinations- > owneronelist writes: > > << Please ask any questions too, we are all here to learn about > vaccinations and vaccine-related issues. >> > > Hello, I hope that all is well with all of you and your families. > Over the last year, I have been collecting data about vaccinations and I have > suspended all immunizations of my children. Guest guest
Hi, I have read 's letters and have appreciated her willingness to share and encourage others (including myself). However I have one serious reservation about her advice to use Reiki. I have done some searches on this subject and have been alarmed with what I have learned. Reiki is a spiritual healing that has nothing to do with the Lord God Almighty of the Holy Bible. I realize other people might be cautious about this and wish to research on their own. This list serv is an amazing source of information and I am grateful to be able to learn from all of you. Sincerely,
Guest guest
I would like to say: When you do spiritual healing you ask for guidance from " your " power source. This could be God, Jesus, , Buddha, Reiki master, etc. I was raised Catholic but that isn't going to stop me from keeping an open mind to any and all religions and beliefs...other than the medical communities :-) My son was injured by the DPT and/or MMR. He is a different boy today from the alternative therapies I have tried. Keep an open mind while you research. A good spiritual seminar to attend would be Barbara Brennan. She has a web sight. The only other spiritual/healing touch therapies I know of are Ro-hon (or is it hun?) and oh it escapes me...therapeutic touch (?). There are so many. Even if you don't believe in a " Higher Power " you can ask for guidance from the universal energy field. I don't know if this helps, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents. whatever that is worth. kim Nicashay wrote: > > From: " Nicashay " <nicashay@...> > > Hi, > I have read 's letters and have appreciated her willingness to share and encourage others (including myself). Guest guest
dear lisa, i understand your reservations about reiki. BUT, i'm speaking from experience! okay, you've done some research, now find some people who have had personal experiences with reiki, then make up your mind. i've always found reiki certainly works with minor ailments, and it sure helps with serious problems, but then, that's my personal experience. love and light claudia ---Nicashay <nicashay@...> wrote: > > From: " Nicashay " <nicashay@...> > > Hi, > I have read 's letters and have appreciated her willingness to share and encourage others (including myself). Guest guest
Hi! My name is Sasha, and I have a six month old son Elliot. I have so far decided not to vaccinate, but I know the pressure will be on me as time goes by. My mother-in-law is a school nurse, and my mother is a registered nurse. They already think I'm somewhat on the fringe: because I'm trying not to eat dairy, didn't circumcise, am planning to breastfeed until my son is ready to stop. They keep saying, " What about when he has to go to school? " - I haven't even gone into telling them I may homeschool. I hope to learn enough about vaccination to give them convincing reasons to accept my decision. I just feel that there are too many questions about it to just do it. I think it's healthy to let my son's body fight disease as it was meant to do, rather than injecting him with a little bit of disease in the hope that it will work to strenthen him. Guest guest
Hi, my name is Belinda. I live in Pensacola, Florida with my dh, , and three children. Dorothy is 8 and has had all shots but her boosters, is 4 1/2 and got to her four month shots. That is where we stopped, but more on that later. Caleb is 18 mo old and has had one heel prick to check for PKU. He had no eye drops, nothing just cut the cord and hand here. That was it. Now, on to . We were the typical ignorant parents, trusting what the dr. said as gospel. So, we take in for her shots at the 2 month step. She is cranky but okay. So then the four month mark comes and we take her and get the shots. About four hours after we get home, she is unconsolable, you can't touch her and she is stiff as a board. Then she just stared into space and shivered. She did that repeatedly. So we called the dr. and he said that there was no way it was related to the shots, just give tylenol and she'll be fine. This went on for days. Her fever had spiked and we were worried. So we get in the dr's office and our regular ped. was there. She was wonderful. She said that it was definetly a reaction and contacted the CDC. They did nothing, and we were told to go to the health dept and fill out a AVEARS report.Well that took two weeks because the health dept had NEVER filled one out before. After that was filled out again, nothing was done. So, our dr. calls us and we bring in for a checkup. She diagnoses with myclonic jerks, due to the DTP shot. She said that she will always have them but it has caused no learning or developmental problems. She now has maybe two a month as in turn to the up to 20 a day in the beginning. We did alot of reading and came across the book by Dr. Mendelsohn...it was a life saver. I have crammed that book in so many dr's. faces. We have learned enough to know that immunizing is dangerous to do. We have had our children exempt from shots in Florida. They are allowed to go to school, with no problems so far. Caleb is our only unaltered child and we hope to learn more about the dangers of immunizing. I look forward to hearing from yal, and do appreciate yal letting me ramble on like this. I hope I haven't bored to many and made some sense to some. @>-------------Belinda aka SEWHAT357 -----------<@ owner---- mommy's milk and me @onelist.com BABYSLINGS by BELINDA and http://www.geocities.com/heartland/hollow/7345/index Certified Breastfeeding Counselor and mommy to Dorothy 8, 4 1/2, and Caleb 18mo.old. Guest guest
Thank you for adding me to the vaccination list, I appreciate continuing to gain knowledge on this very controversial issue. Introduction: My name is Sherri and I gave birth to my first child, Orion, a whopping 8 lb 7 oz baby boy, in the safety of my own home in July, 98. I chose the midwife route as I was totally unimpressed with the " medicalized " approach to child birth. The Dr. I saw only one was aloof, rushed and obviously couldn't care a less about myself or my unborn child. I researched and found a wonderful, well educated, experienced midwife. She will be a good friend of mine forever. I delivered my son in a labor pool after 7 1/2 hours of labor and was totally, 100% satisfied and happy with my whole process. When the vaccination issue came up I went to see a pediatrician when Orion was about 2 1/2 months old to establish a relationship with a physician, " in case " I ever needed one for him. I liked the Dr. well enough and asked him about his stance on vaccinations and he, of course, was sure they were totally beneficial. When I inquired about the immunization " schedule " and why I couldn't wait until my son was at least 1 year old to begin he replied that the schedule was in place to administer vaccinations precisely when children were most susceptible to that particular disease. (Red flag #1) He said that they (meaning the AMA) had done considerable research to substantiate this " schedule " . (Red flag #2). I said that I would not chose to administer anything on that day and that I would call and schedule another appointment, something I knew I wouldn't follow up on. I had already done extensive research into the vaccination issue and was curious to hear what a Dr. had to say. I wasn't impressed, I wasn't told anything of any potential side effects, risks or other issues to be concerned about when injecting my baby with a foreign substance. Given my " paranoia " of " traditional medicine " I discontinued any " well baby checks " ... as I knew my baby was perfectly well and that I didn't need a Dr. to ensure me of that fact. I decided I would not have my son vaccinated to any degree but rather pursued a homeopathic approach. I am currently giving my son his homeopathic administration and feel confident he will skate through childhood without a hitch. He is growing very well, has not had even one real cold, or flu, ear infection, etc. He is very bright, alert and happy. I guess for me not vaccinating has been a natural progression of a midwife approach to prenatal visits, a home birth, non- circumcision and treating him holistically. My heart literally breaks when I hear of other parent's disastrous bouts with the medical profession. It infuriates me that there are not stricter laws and guidelines for administering and injecting our children with toxins that are killing, disabling and otherwise damaging our most innocent populace. I'm thankful for the www for the ability to share knowledge and information and I appreciate being added to this important distribution list. Guest guest
Shalom , Coming back to you after the most positive news. Beware of generalisation. I spoke to a friend's friend that happened to have given birth home about two months ago (they are based in Safed). First, no vaccination is compulsory. They of course try to convince you but when you say NO, that's it. Second, the homeopathy has tremendously developed over the past five years, you find as many practitioners as pharmacies (drug shops ?) As far as natural birthing is concerned, it's not illegal but they of course don't push. She did it with a private midwife ... See ? So if you did change your plans about moving to Israel, please review them, I would be most happy to welcome you (hihi) Love and light Dominique Ayaz a écrit : > From: Ayaz <claudiaayaz@...> > > shalom dominique, > please, before you leave belgium, send us those homeopathic ob's and > pediatricians, there is an acute shortage of that type in the usa!!! > with regard to israel, i'm not sure about the legal situation on > vaccines, but do prepared for a fight. and being pregnant over there > is no fun, they impose just about every test in existence on the > foetus... this was the situation less than two years ago, and i doubt > it has changed. a friend of mine, 25 years old, with absolutely no > history in her family of diseases, had to go through virtually every > test there is, including the one to check for down's syndrome (sorry, > forgotten the medical term for it). at such a young age? that really > put me off moving there. until then, i was seriously considering it. > instead, my son avi was born in california, so i only have to fight > the school system to 'safe' my daughter sara from being vaccinated... > i am pretty sure, though, that there are loopholes in the israeli > system, so find out as much as you can before you get pregnant over > there... > love and light > claudia > > ---Dominique LEMAIRE <DLemaire.ELF.UE@...> wrote: > > > > From: Dominique LEMAIRE <DLemaire.ELF.UE@...> > > > > > Hello everyone and thanks to for welcoming me on the list. > > > > As she so kindly asks I'll try to make a short summary of > introduction and > > presentation. > > > > First I understand that the great majority on this list are based in > the States > > (maybe I am wrong and I really hope so). > > I am based in Belgium (Europe) and am the mother of a lovely months > old boy. > > > > I've been healing myself for about years with homeopathy and lately > work much more > > with aromatherapy and very much with flower essences. > > > > My whole pregnancy has been followed by a homeopathic gyneacologist > and is > > being followed by a homeopathic pediatrician. > > > > When it came to vaccines, that is to say he was (still is but in > another one) in a > > daycare center (well center is a big word as this lady only kept > three babies), > > this center is supervised (as the great majority) by a national > entity called ONE > > (Office National de l'Enfance-Children Health Care) The law in > Belgium only imposes > > polio vaccination. We would be happy to hear about your vaccination experiences. >Also why you have >chosen not to vaccinate. Please ask any questions too, we are all here to learn >about >vaccinations and vaccine-related issues. Hi, my name is . I am the SAHM of two boys, ages 6 and 3. I did vaccinate my oldest, (at 2, 4, 6, 12 months, 2 years) because I was uninformed. He did not receive the Pertussis vaccine (DPT), just a DT, at 2 months, though, because I had heard that it was what causes the most reactions. At 4 months, however, I did not have insurance and I went to a public clinic to get his immunizations. They said he had to have the DPT, as I didn't have a doctor's release for the other. I was alone and young, so I gave in. That night, he had a reaction. For almost two days he ran a high temperature, his leg swelled, and he screamed almost non-stop (would drift off to sleep for 15 minutes, then start screaming and crying again). My DH said we would never give him that Pertussis again. When I got pregnant with my second child, we decided we had had enough intervention from the medical establishment, so we chose a homebirth with a Nurse Midwife. It was the best experience of my life. We also chose not to vaccinate our second child at all. At that point we also quit giving vaccinations to our oldest. Due to the reaction that my oldest son had, we have a letter exempting him from all future vaccinations, and this allows him to get into school. However, I will begin homeschooling him this fall, due to some learning problems he has (which I believe are related to the vaccinations he had as a child). I look forward to learning more, and meeting more of you here!
