Guest guest
Things like nail-biting are genetically connected to OCD and Tourette's Syndrome. (Or at least the deficiencies are familial.) I know because I've done a ton of research. My brother has Tourette's. All 7 of us siblings in my family bite/have bitten our nails. And other idiosyncrasies. Hair pulling. Playing with paper edges. Etc. I have tried over the years, several times, to get my brother to at least TRY magnesium, as this is reported to help. He says, " I don't take vitamins and I never will. " (This is what I have to deal with...) Since I started taking lots of magnesium, I too, have ceased and desisted the nail biting. Very interesting. Guest guest
Asking you for a reference and "taking you to task" are two entirely separate things. And If Steph made the same statement, I missed it. I don't read EVERY post.I never said anything to you about not watching a video. And I have read Dr. B's book. In fact, I reviewed it on my blog. So please don't imply that I'm lying to you.If you can't supply the reference, then just say so. I'm not responsible for your defensiveness, and I don't deserve a tirade from you.Joannewww.joanneunleashed.comOn Apr 12, 2010, at 4:27 PM, iodine wrote:f you *had* read Dr B's book or the Optimox readings you would already know this to be a fact about gut health and iodine, and you're on my case for not watching a video you prefer, but you haven't read Dr B's book and the Optimox readings which are central, basic texts in our understanding of the iodine protocol? Guest guest
That's fantastic news!! So many Hashis/Autoimmune sufferers won't try iodine, because they believe it's bad for them. I think that's such a shame. Were you advised to try Iodine or did you do it yourself?IanI have Hashi's for about 17 yrs now. Take synthroid and cytomel. Started Lugols 3 months ago. Up to 25 mg. NEVER FELT BETTER! Beverly
Guest guest
My perspective on genetics has changed over the last couple of years. It is a term that is used whenever scientists and doctors can't find an explanation or won't consider some explanations. One could say hypothyroidism is genetic or even iodine deficiency is genetic because if mom has either one the children will also have them. It is one thing to have a defective gene and another to be deficient in nutrients. OCD is probably a deficiency but it is fascinating and curious that a whole family would have the same behaviors. Guest guest
LOL! You're making me chuckle. Here's a reference with multiple studies on gastrointestinal iodine use. See the links on the lefthand side of the page: http://iodine4health.com/body/gastro/gastro.htm Here is a link to a site that gives multiple studies on all the many ways that iodine is used in the body. http://iodine4health.com/body/body.htm Enjoy -- >Asking you for a reference and " taking you to task " are two entirely >separate things. Guest guest
Donna: Have you experienced NAET treaments? If so, you would understand that NAET treatments for yeast includes all forms of it and candida is part of it. The NAET treatments do not only treat the allergen, but also helps to rebalance the body and detoxify it. Yeast comes from or is fed from foods (sugars, grains and combinations thereof). Check out the website (www.naet.com) if you want more information. There are other treatments that include heavy metals and that is not an allergy for most, i.e. mercury. The woman that treats me told me that she had a woman that was to undergo chelation for mercury and didn't need to after the NAET treatments. I don't have an allergy to iodine either, but if your body is not able to absorb it being treated for it via NAET helps your body to better absorb it. All I know is that after I was treated for minerals I was able to take more iodine without the detox symptoms (fatigue and feeling down) that I had experienced in the past prior to the NAET. > > Hi Laurie! > I am glad you are seeing improvement after NAET for yeast. But the NAET treatments would be for being allergic to yeast, having candida is a different problem, and you can either one separately. Does that make sense? Your NAET treatments are going to get rid of the allergy, but will not get rid of candida overgrowth. You would have to treat that separately, and you are correct that it might take more than iodine and coconut oil. We have had to do more than that over the years. > > Donna in IL > > From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of dalilah61 > Sent: Monday, April 12, 2010 1:05 PM > iodine > Subject: Re: Absolute must read about iodine dosing & thyroid > > > > I can tell you that I have been on Iodoral 50-62.5 mg for 1-1/2 years and also using coconut oil as well. If both of these are suppose to help kill yeast/candida then they did not work for me because I had positive muscle testing for yeast with the NAET treatments. I also would have cravings for sweets. I have been undergoing the NAET (allergy elimination treatments) for many months now and this past week had two treatments for yeast. I could tell it worked because I felt very tired, almost hung over, bloated and constipated from the die off. It could be that iodine alone might help someone kill yeast if a person wasn't that ill. All I know is that my immune system is somewhat compromised given the food allergies and high thyroid antibodies so I need more help than just iodine and/or coconut oil. It seems the NAET treatments have helped me the most as I have seen the most results from this treatment. I have also been able to increase my iodine dosage from 50-62.5 mg after being treated for iodine/minerals. I had to keep cutting back on my dosage prior to that. I have to say that I am glad that at times the group has gone off topic because I never would have found out about NAET if that didn't happen. > Laurie > > ________________________________ >
Guest guest
Yes, we have been doing NAET treatment for 5+ years now, and our doctor has treated the candida overgrowth to kill it, but through things we took orally, and treated the allergy to yeast completely separately. We are not allergic to yeast, but still can have an overgrowth throughout the body. NAET does not kill candida. Donna in IL Donna: Have you experienced NAET treaments? Guest guest
Hello Donna, Yeast is a form of the class fungus...fungal forms can exist as a yeast or mold, depending on the temperature they grow in. Yeast is the form they take in higher temps, like inside a living body.
