I believe I have a receipe of yours for Body Butter that has equal parts of cocoa butter, olive oil, and sweet almond oil. No beeswax. I tried it last night, assuming that the cocoa butter would harden it a little and I could scoop it out of the container that I put it in. But it didn't harden at all. Do you have any idea why not. thanks, Kathy

Yup, I've tried that. But maybe I should do it a couple of times.

Re: Need help

Have you tried putting some rubbing alcohol in them and giving the good whirl? The glass shouldn't absorb the FO and maybe there's a fine film of FO left even after all the washing. Oil has a way staying put and not be seen.I've wanted to save some of the bottles I've emtied out too, but didn't ahve the room to keep them so out they went. Now that my soaping supplies are set up in the kitchen I can save a few cause mixing scents every time I want to make one is big pain in the rear end.Terri Joe Murray wrote:

Wow - that's a great idea. I never even thought of using a baster

spillage. Thanks, Terri. I'm printing this email as a reminder

Tip!

For a year now I've been driving myself crazy(er) cleaning turkey basters and medicine droppers after filling containers. I did everything.... let them air dry and clean them out with skewers and paper towels down to boiling the heck out of them (melted a few this way!) and it was NOT the way to get them clean... just ended up more of a mess!I did it today! Came up with the best way to clean them out.... heat about quarter cup of reg cooking oil in the microwave (careful this can get hot!) then sucked the hot oil into the dropper or turkey baster...this melted what was stuck up in there and diluted it so it ran out with the hot oil. Then you can wash it just like normal and it comes out clean with no oily feel. I tried this when I discovered my turkey baster had collected *junk* from the drawer because of the lotion bar gunk that was still stuck to it.TerriOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author. All my basters and droppers look great after I cleaned them all today...

squeeky clean and not feeling oily at all... the fuzzy drawer got a good

wiping out too! :)

When I made my first batch of lip balms over a year ago I asked around how

folks filled the tubes... I got suggests ranging from spoons, funnels (like

I was going to try and balance that combo! lol) even one lady said to pour

it in a zip lock bag and cut the corner off (ok and how do I not burn my

hands off?? lol) ... I went searching in the house and came up with one of

my sons unused medicine droppers and started out with that... when I moved

to big lotion bars I got a suggestion to use the turkey baster... now I use

both depending on what I'm making... even use the droppers for filling salve

tins.. hardly ever have a mess to clean up from dripping. The medicine droppers

are great and you can pick them up in just about any Rx for around a buck.

Terri who wonders how dust gets into closed drawers.... must be those dust

bunnies open them up in the middle of the night :)

Hi, sorry I haven't checked in lately. Doing okay, about the same anyway. Right now having problems with back unrelated to illness. It goes out about once a year and it picked right now. Have to go to an opthamologist in early Feb. about the eye I had laser surgery on and a neuro also in early Feb about the vertigo I have been having.]

On a good note....found out that Colleen lives right here in the same city I live in and we have spoken on the phone several times. Hoping we get to meet to have coffee in the near future.

Also waiting for review of Social Security..those are always fun. Had the visit with the "shrink" on Friday...like after an hour they really know you huh? Anyway, that's what's up with me. Terri B

Boy, I bet that's one trip you'll NEVER forget. Sounds awful. I know what you

mean about the traffic, too. The chartered bus we were on did a tailgate party after

the race and I figured by the time we were ready to leave, most of the traffic would

be gone. WRONG!! I hated that trip back to Wilmington, Del. where our hotel

was. It seemed to take forever. Bumper to bumper stopped traffic for about the

first 1-1/2 hours. Yuck. The track at Dover is also a track where you can see from

every seat. I was told that a lot of the tracks aren't like that, so that it was a good

race to see. What do I know? I know tons of people are race fans, but even after

being at one, I didn't get "hooked." Just not my thing, I guess.

Re: Re: Pic uploaded-not soap

<<<<the trip also included "Pit" passes and "garage" passes. >>>

DROOOLLLLLLL!! *sigh*

I went to one race... Watkins Glen and had a aweful time.... I had a one year old in tote and at that time I was married to my now ex who stayed beyond drunk all weekend... AND we were in a tent!

We had paddock passes and got close to the Busch guys.... we could have stood 10 ft from Mark s pit during the race, but it was such a short race that we would have missed too much of what little you can see at the track. My son slept the entire race on my back in a carrier even with the loud cars. The trip home was worse.... there are too few roads leading out of the track.... it took us 4 hours to go 10 miles!! With a hung over driver and a baby who did not want to stay in a car seat and just sit still! Nightmare!

One of these years I'll make it to Bristol for a night race.... now thats a fun track! It's like the cars are racing in a soup bowl..... there are no flat spots on the track and the track is so small that you can see the entire track no matter where you sit.... the higher the better at that track. It's a track where the drivers joke... if you leave Bristol without a scratch on your car then you never made it into the race.

I'm sending prayers that you do get to feeling better soon. Everyone is different in how their body reacts to the medicene.

What kind of work do you do?

I'm disabled with vertibral colapse, spinal stenosis, nerve damage, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromalagia added to the hepatitis. I'm fighting also to keep my head above water so to speak.I'm hoping I will be able to take treatment for the hepatitis. Maybe soon I will hear from the doctor.

My computer is the doorway to the world for me. Don't hesitate to email me if you want someone to talk to. Heres a great big soft hug for you..(((((((((((((((((((((((((((Terri))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hi Judy,

Thanks I think I needed that Hug....Then I see and read how so many other people are worse than I.....and they keep on truckin. (I feel like a wusssss)

I think I am going thru a very emotional time now (there are events that are happening in my life right now that add to that) and I am taking another "pill" for that. They definetley have not perfected that pill. Ha!Ha!

I was unaware of my hep-c counts....because I did not know that I needed to ask about that. Joining this websight has taught me a few things. I really appreciate you guys being out there. I found out that at the beginning (when they diagnosed me with Hep-C) my count was 600,000+. Which to me sounds absolutley awful. My last blood work showed below 600. My doctors comment to me.....I have not even seen him since my biopsy in september, excuse me don't want to Lie, I did see him afterwards to get my results and start the treatment. Same Month. " Hang in there...your a responder." I thank the lord everyday I wake up and I am still breathing, but I think he needs to look at the other medical problems resulting from all of this.....I have transferred to a new Doctor....Same thing.

So I have come to the conclusion that I am on my own here..(with the help of the prescriptions), I'll do my time, but what ever the results are....I am going to go Holistic, if there is to be another round.

I think I just needed to spout....Thanks Judy for letting me.

God Bless everyone...

Hi Terri...I have a terrible case of CRS!!!! I talked with the nurse yesterday and she said doctor was out of the office til Monday...She would put my file on his desk and fax me copies after he notes them instead of waitting for him to do whatever.....

How are you doing these days? I had an off day yesterday where I was real sick but seems to be better today...PTL......

I'm really having mixed feelings about the treatment because of all the other physical things going on. It is a constant struggle to stay positive and now to add another....wheeee I think I need to get better pain control before I do anything else. The doctor has talked about a pain pump so I can take the pain meds I need at a lower dose and that way it won't do more damage to my liver. The last 6 months I have been taking less pain meds than is prescribed because of the liver and yet like this morning...I hurt so much I was thinking....maybe it's time to give up the fight....my family would be better off without me. The pain brings me that low. I think I'd better take the bull by the horns and be more aggressive as to getting the pain under control.

Sorry I just dumped on you.....you're welcome to write me if I can be of any help...my private email is tmckee@... Please do write and let me know how you are doing.....love....judy

Hi Judy, Teri here , I sure think that sounds like a good idea on the pump for pain. Sounds like you need to get that controlled so you won't be under so much stress , because that can get way out of control with our wonderful meds. Sure hope things get better soon !

Oh, boy. That's just great. Thank God I'm only out about $20.00!!!

How can people do things like that? I couldn't sleep at night if I

was like that. Well, that's the end of me buying anything from anybody

(except our group members, of course) that isn't a bonified company!!

Thanks for letting me know. I still haven't had the time to research other

groups to see who's had a problem with her.

,

One list mom contacted your mystic winds gal.... or should I say...tried to contact her. She got no response and has now banned her from selling on her list in the future. I know this isn't a help, but just wanted to let you know that your not the only one who is looking for paid for products.... I did a quick look around in my groups and it looks like she hasn't posted anything since March 5th.
