Guest guest Report post Posted July 8, 2005 Hi nne Boy, time sure does fly. I cannot handle the thought of her being a Senior in the Fall. I scanned some of her Prom pictures onto the computer last month and totally forgot to post some in our Files to show everyone. So I guess I'll take a few minutes right now and do that. I just got home from another birthday party. Boy, am I ever sick of cake and ice cream!! How's that little boy doing? I bet he's getting big. I'll have to pop onto your blog page and see if you have posted any new pictures. My granddaughter is turning two in August already. It seems like it was just yesterday that she was born. I don't have any recent pictures on the computer (bad Grammy) but there's one good way to describe her.....Shirley Temple. Yup, she's got the curls all over her head. What a little cutie. She's a real parrot now.....copies everything you say so you have to be real careful with your choice of words if you know what I mean. OK, I'm going to go try to post some prom pictures in the group's files if I can remember how. Take care RE: Jeanine & the group Hi there, ! It's great to hear from you. I've been wondering how you're doing. Man, sounds like you are crazy-busy this summer!!! It seems like the moment when June arrives, everything gets *so* hectic all of the sudden. I guess that it's because of the beautiful weather and everyone wanting to be outside doing things! We have a lot of June, July, and August birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate, too. It's hard to believe that your daughter is graduating high school! Wow! Time flies! How's your other daughter doing [and your cute grandbaby?]. The bath fizzy press sounds amazing. I'd get a lot of use out of it, I bet ... would love to also hear feedback on it! Bath fizzies are so much fun to use in the bath. Take care! ~nne in Columbia County My blog: http://bathtubjunkie.net/

Guest guest Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Hi nne The pictures of my daughter didn't do justice to the dress at all. The color in most of the pictures (except the close-ups) made it look like a pale green. It was a lot prettier in person. I spent a fortune on her jewelry and you can hardly see that in the pictures either. Maybe some day I'll have an occasion to wear the necklace and earrings myself - maybe a cruise? Guest guest Report post Posted August 9, 2005 For some reason I couldn't get your link to work to see the baby's picture. RE: News and Notes Lizz, congratulations on your daughter's upcoming arrival! How exciting! I'm envious of your sewing talents. I tried making a pair of pajama pants for my husband once and accidentally sewed the legs together. LOL!!! Don't even get me *started* on the basket liner that I attempted to make. It was horribly awful! We have a nice sewing machine, but I can only *dream* about being able to use it the correct way! I'd love to take a beginner's sewing class of some sort. As for me, I haven't made any soaps, bath salts, lip balms, etc. in a LONG time. I guess that I just feel a little nervous still about having my soapmaking supplies sitting out with Lucas nearby. I wouldn't want him to accidentally get into hot, melted soap or essential oils. Plus, I've just been tired! Maybe I can get back into it sometime soon, though. I'd intended to make a bunch of bath salts for your goodie bags at the gathering, but unfortunately I wasn't able to. I hope to create some bath and body gifts for Christmas presents this year ... I'd better start now, LOL! I've actually been doing more scrapbooking than anything else lately. I love being a mom ... SO very much! Lucas will be five months old on the 22nd of this month, and I just can't believe how quickly 2005 has FLOWN by!!! He's really getting a LOT more mobile [rolling over, trying to crawl, kicking his legs like crazy, etc.]. He prefers to be on his tummy, playing! We're giving him rice cereal now, and it's cute to watch him eat. His sleeping pattern is SO much better than before ~ he's actually starting to sleep through the night. Well, last night he only woke up once! Here's a current picture of our little guy [taken just the other day]: http://bathtubjunkie.net/wp-images/scrapbooking.jpg. Oh, I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but I just got a freelance newspaper reporting and graphic design position! I'm THRILLED to have it. I've done one feature article so far and designed a few ads. It feels great to be getting back into what I love to do professionally! I'd love to start back up with doing feature profiles on our members for a " Member of the Month " -type thing [like we used to]. That's it from here! ~nne in Columbia County My blog: http://bathtubjunkie.net/

Guest guest Report post Posted November 4, 2005 nne I don't mind having " free reign " as far as making the basket and deciding what to put in it. But I'd rather have some idea as to what the person likes as far as scents. And I'd prefer to know how their bathroom is decorated so I can try to match their bathroom colors. A Goldwell representative is a sales rep for a company that sells top of the line products to hair dressers (shampoos, conditioners, etc.) and also makes hair dyes that they use in the shop. You can only buy their products at a salon and not in stores. RE: Thinking Christmas already! , that basket sounds like it will be FUN to put together! Congrats! The one that I'm making for my friend is only selling for $20. But who knows how much she'll get out of it at this Christmas auction? Don't you just love when you have " creative freedom " to do whatever you'd like for a gift basket? Guest guest Report post Posted November 27, 2005 Well, it definitely sounds like you enjoyed yourself for Thanksgiving. Having kids really makes a difference for the Holidays. I just started shopping myself this weekend but NOT the day after Thanksgiving. I just can't bring myself to do that. I have the tree up with the lights on it but the decorations are still in the attic. I'll pick away at it during the week. Tonight was a night at Toys R Us for employees of Remington Arms where my husband works. So I went with my married daughter to shop for my granddaughter. Did I go overboard? Nah, I just bought her a $300 battery operated pink corvette convertible to drive once the snow goes away in the Spring. You know, those cars that go 2-1/2 to 5 mph. I can't believe it...the car has a real FM radio in it, a cup holder, the lights work, the turn signals work and it even has an engine sound to it. And it's a two-seater so she can have her little friend ride in it with her. My 17-yr old daughter wants to ride in it but I told her " no way. " I would imagine there's a weight limit on it in the paperwork some place. I can't wait for Christmas to a in it. I'll have to post a picture to the group after Christmas. nne, I enjoyed looking at your friend's Indian wedding pictures.....very interesting. I can't believe how long you said that ceremony was!! Did Lucas really sit through that whole thing? Wow, that's amazing. Well, gotta go switch laundry over. RE: Random Ramblings Shaye, I'm glad that you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving! And I hope that everyone else did, too! We all definitely have *so* much to be grateful for this year. Jeff, Lucas, and I had Thanksgiving together here at home, and it was *really* nice. We had so much fun seeing Lucas celebrate Thanksgiving for the first time! We gave him some of our food [pureed of course, LOL!]. I wasn't sure if babies could have cranberries or not, so I gave him just the *tiniest* taste of the cranberry sauce that I made. What a face he gave us! We woke up to snow ... it was beautiful. Lucas didn't like it, though! He put his face down into it, looked up at us, and started crying! I know that we shouldn't have laughed, but it was SO funny! Friday, I braved the crowds and went shopping at the mall/Target. I had such a good experience ~ there were hardly any lines, people were incredibly friendly, I found exactly what I was looking for, Lucas did great and was in a super good mood the entire time, I found awesome parking spots, etc. I guess that I just had a positive experience! And Lucas had his picture taken with Santa for the first time. Boy, he did NOT like it one bit! hehe Here's the link to the picture if you'd like to see it: http://bathtubjunkie.net/wp-images/lucassantasmall.jpg. Yesterday, we put up our Christmas tree and decorations. And cleaned while we were at it. It snowed, too ~ how perfect and cozy! Today, I've been doing a crafting MARATHON ... OMG, I'm getting SO much done. I've made a TON of bath and body items for Christmas gifts! I made a friend of ours some " chocolate-covered strawberry " fizzing bath salts [the FO was from Save on Scents ~ and I'm telling you, it's FANTASTIC!!!!!]. Then, I made some pomegranate bath salts [not too sure how I like that fragrance ~ wasn't quite what I was expecting], strawberry-vanilla fizzing bath salts [i should keep a tube of those for myself, LOL!], " harvest spice " body lotion [a friend ordered five " harvest spice " sets to give as Christmas gifts], and some various glycerin soaps. I have a bag of raspberry leaf and plan to make bath teabags at some point, too. Now I just have to label and package everything! Hope you all are having an excellent weekend! ~nne http://bathtubjunkie.net/

Guest guest Report post Posted September 17, 2006 My insurance has a $500 deductible for the year, plus I have to pay 20% of any procedure (not dr visits) up to a max of $3000 a year. Then it starts over again. I'll trade ya (plans, but not knees). Ann nne I guess the patial knee is called resurfacing. The medial aspect of my right knee is bone one bone so that would be an option for that one. But the left is the outer aspect and the knee cap is really bad as well so he said that would have to be a TKR. The brace he said since they are on different parts of the knee I would only be able to use one on the right leg. I do have insurance but it is a $250.00 deductable. Ouch! I guess I might need to try it to see. The synvisc didn't really do much but then I guess it was worth a shot. Sounds like you have been through simular things. I use to run but I would be happy to just be able to walk at this point with minimal pain. Thank you for your opinion. JoAnn
Guest guest Report post Posted January 16, 2007 nne, The Swedish band holds 10cc’s if I am not mistaken. Dr. Aceves uses the Inamed Lapband, which has different sizes. I have approx 3.2 or 3.3cc’s in a 4cc band. My band is 10cm. There is a 9cm, and then there is the vanguard which I think is 11cm. It has been a while and I have forgotten some details. Guest guest Report post Posted January 17, 2007 Penny, it's definitely different for each person, thanks for sharing---it helps hearing other individual's daily experiences with the band instead of blind judgements, like; if you're not using the tool your not going to lose---there are more factors to consider when things aren't working and I pretty much know at this point a flora fill is going to be what gets my q's answered. Until I get that, (maybe next month, bandster bash--Dawnita told me about) I'll try other things and see if I can get some weight off. Congrats on your weight loss---that's such an accomplishment----I see myself there some day, hopefully sooner then later! :)Penny Manville <pmanvill@...> wrote: Hi nneI have a situation similar to yours. I definitely cannot eat anything until midafternoon and then I really could just wait until my evening meal (most of the time). I could even go without drinking anything until I start fixing dinner! I just am not hungry and I can't get a lot of water or liquid down comfortably until evening. I DO drink during the day. Warm liquids like herbal tea or nonchunky soups work the best but I do try to drink water during the day too. I find that if I get more water in during the day, the next day goes a lot better. Nina's suggestion to take a small sip every ten minutes does work pretty good if you are so restricted you can't drink. Anyway....By evening I am usually able to eat a more normal meal but again, I am not that hungry. I do consciously have to use a small plate and put very small protions on my plate until I think it looks like a cupful or so. I know I COULD eat more but if I am thoughtful as I eat and think about how I feel after each bite, I know when I am satisfied and don't need anymore to eat. This is where I think my fill is right and maybe you still need some more. I do not wait 2 hours to drink because I would not be able to then. I try to wait 30 minutes to 1 hour and then start sipping again. I never eat after about 7 PM and I quit drinking water about 2 hours before going to bed or I will have reflux all night and that is miserable. I am NOT hungry until the next afternoon or evening even though I didn't wait the 2 hours after eating to drink. That part is different from you. Do not give up on your band--it will work for you if you learn how to work with it! How lucky for you that you found this message board and have an open mind! I know you will be successful! Guest guest Report post Posted September 8, 2007 Cheer up nne, You will find the inner determination to get the weight sorted my love. It has to be the right time to do it but dare I suggest putting your most hated recent photo on the fridge and then a photo of how you want to look next to it. Purge your house of the nasty fattening rubbish and make a list each day of what you plan to eat, making a contingency plan for if you end up eating out. Never punish yourself for having a bad day where you've been a bit weak and don't say, 'ah well, I'll do better tomorrow' be good from that moment on. Visualise yourself as slim and lovely and put in a cosmic order too. That's what I plan to do. Guest guest Report post Posted September 8, 2007 Hi Lee, First off I think you are a very pretty woman and the photo's of the wedding day don't do you justice. I've just had friends tell me off for putting myself down and I'll pass that on now, you are lovely and don't go telling anyone any different. Please tell us more about the anti-candida diet because I am trying specifically to target candida. I am cutting out sugar but am not sure about what else needs to go - I'm guessing bread, pasta and the like? Well done for getting back on the diet and please keep it up because we sure need some success stories re. the dieting. Luv Bella > > > When the first pictures of my sister-in-law's wedding came through a couple of weeks ago, I cried. I mean, I really cried. I just thought I looked like a giant . . . whatever giant you can be in burgundy satin! > > The most success I had was implementing an anti-Candida diet as I was diagnosed with systemic candidiasis. I've been at it a week now, twice a day for anything from 20 to 45 minutes (I have big dogs!). So far, so good. My knees are sore, but they will be since they're arthritic to begin with. But, I'm tolerating it, and that's a good thing! > > > > --------------------------------- > Answers - Get better answers from someone who knows. Guest guest Report post Posted September 8, 2007 What drives me mad Gill is the fact that I don't EVER drink alcohol, I don't like things like fresh cream and yet I still cannot lose weight. I do hope that you have a fantastic weekend for your 50th, and blow any diet you have a drink or 2 for the big ocassion, I remember mine well - went off to the USA for mine, no point in having a party when I am the only sober one around LOL. I am also starting a new diet and will let you all know if anything happens over the next week - it will take a while to get into this diet but it is supposed to be exceptionally good for hypoT's. I never appreciated the fact that I could eat anything and not gain did you? Luv nne Hi nne - I stand by what I said - you looked fine to me!! I really do know what you mean though - until about my early 40s I could eat what I liked and never
Guest guest Report post Posted September 8, 2007 Oh Lee, I thought you looked lovely in your dress - you were a picture and Bella is absolutely right, you are pretty so stop this putting yourself down. I wonder what you thought of yourself when you were a size 2 (I don't understand these sizes as I was always a size 10 and thought that was small, I showed someone a photo of me at that size and she said I looked anorexic - now I would hate to ask her what I looked like today LOL).because you are still the same person on the inside, the outside is just the physical that others can see and I say about myself, who doesn't like the look of me, can turn away. So you have started the walking with your dogs and gone on a good diet - way to go Lee, I am looking forward to hearing how much weight has gone next week. Luv nne When the first pictures of my sister-in-law's wedding came through a couple of weeks ago, I cried. I mean, I really cried. I just thought I looked like a giant . . . whatever giant you can be in burgundy satin!
Guest guest Report post Posted September 9, 2007 I don't think any of us do, that is just human nature isn't it. However, as I went into a health food shop last week and at the check out was asked if I was entitled to the discount (for pensioners) I feel that something must be done as I am still 3 years away from that. Hubby told him off for being so rude and told me to take no notice and a very good friend said that I don't look my age and I dyed my hair (used a henna dye and left it on too long so not happy with the colour myself but friend/hubby/sister all said it suited me) and my sister said that it took years off - perhaps I should go back to this place next Wednesday to see if he asks again LOL. That is going to be a great holiday Gill, my friend and neighbour is desperate to get herself a camper van and tour Europe, the world is your oyster when you have one - as for camping, forget it, I like my mod cons and a proper bed to sleep in. I am just not the camping sort although I would just about holiday in a caravan - due to having a bad experience camping at age 15. Hubby had a big do for his 50th but I just didn't want to know, went for a meal with our daughter and then off for a nice holiday - went to Atlantic City for my 40th and dreaming about where to go for my 60th, although it will be our son's 40th that year as well so we may have to go to Oz for that and nothing left in the kitty for my 60th anyway . Luv nne Hi nne - No I never really appreciated that I never put on weight before - I look at pics of me then and think I looked good but I didnt really think so at the time. Anyway, I will console myself with people telling me I dont look my age now!! There will be no dieting next weekend and plenty of nice wine and champers!! I havent been able to get excited about doing something special but have been pushed by family to have a 'do' - so I am and then we may go off for a couple of days by ourselves and have a nice meal somewhere on my actual birthday. We will have a proper hol in october but really I think the treat will be buying a camper van/motorhome!! That will be a big treat as we love getting out and about but think I need a bit more comfort than a tent - now being 50 will be a good excuse to get one!!! what sort of diet are you doing? Guest guest Report post Posted September 9, 2007 Well what can I say Lilian, you have made me cry on a Monday morning - what an absolutely lovely thing to say, thank you so much seems a bit lame but all I can think of right now, I shall have a spring in my step when getting the kitchen sorted this morning, so again my very sincere thanks again. Luv nne PS - have had a rotten dry cough for weeks now (about 8 in total) antibiotics caused me horrors you would not believe but did nothing for the cough - told GPlast week if it did not go within a couple of weeks that I would come back to him but to see if it went on its own for now. I have been researching and discovered that apparently 50grams of dark chocolate gets rid of a dry cough, so breakfast this morning is a good organic 85% chocolate - it is soooo strong but I am determined to see if it works, will let you all know later. I am a bit late - trying to do a bit of catch up as I am many messages behind. Have just come across the ones where both nne and Lee are feeling a bit bad about themselves.
