Thank you! Although, feeling lousy probably made it easier. It is hard to

crave dressing, when you are busy craving a nap!

Hi Meryll,

Sure wasnt campbells was it???!!!!!! That soup was gooood!

15 pounds that it GREAT!!!

I havent been having really any problems with liquids. Downed a 20

oz bottle of water today in about 5 minutes not thinking about it.

Matter of fact...kinda worry about how much liquid I am ablie to

consume.

I have been pretty good though....but today...well...I had sherbet.

.....and not just a little one scoop helping. I have been doing all

clear liquids....but my daughter bought this green pea soup for me

the other day,I was starving that day, but I didnt eat it..stayed

with the broth....well today it was there and I was out of

broth...so I tried it.....the darn soup bothered me...but the

sherbert....no......when down smooth.

I have lost about 10 pounds. Stomach still a bit sore. Cant wait

till this adjusting time is over.

So happy you doing so well.

Hi Meryll

I am glad that all is well. Welcome to the loosing side. I think the fuzzy toung may be from antibiotics. I was doing yougurt after 2 weeks along with Atkins Shakes. Made my life a little easier, but I know it was against the advice so do not lisent to me. As for all the "noices" all I can say is drink water. Maybe Gas-x??? Gongratulations on the 16 lb loss, way to go.

Wow, Meryll! Your weight loss is terrific -- about 3.75#/week. That

is so very encouraging to me as I will be banded on Jan. 19. Thanks

And our house (Well, third floor apartment) is the opposite - so broiling

hot we had to turn off all but 1 radiator! Even the landlord is perplexed,

as his first-floor apartment is freezing in this weather.

Try a bit of hot pepper sauce in that water - it'll really get the juices

Dr. Rand gave me a script for Ultram and one of those bad-boys

Good Morning Everyone. I haven't done very well with my food or exercise in the past week. I have had the flu and bronchitis and am trying to get over this before I fly to Texas on Saturday.

I did weigh in this morning. Went from 240 to 231.5. I am sooooo nervous about this trip, need some encouragement girls on someone that has flown. This is my first time ever and I am stressing over everything. Doesn't seem to help with the IBS problem either.

I am going no mail soon, and will be back on the 14th. My daughter has a computer but they haven't hooked it up at the house yet, so will go into computer withdrawal too. My son is taking his laptop, so I may be able to get on that occasionally. At least to check out my groups.

Plan on giving my food plan and exercise plan my first priority after my trip. This is a great group and I know that I can do this. Funny how you can just feel it when it is the right time for you. Good luck to everyone and you will hear from me again soon.

I'm always amazed when I meet adults who have never flown. The only problem

with flying is that it gets boring so quickly! Take something to read and

you'll be fine.

Congrats on the loss and have fun on your trip. Where in Texas are you

>I have had the flu and bronchitis and am trying to get over this before I fly to Texas on Saturday.

All the medical reports on local TV are saying this is a really bad allergy season already because of all the cold & wet weather we had all winter. I've been taking my steroid nasal spray for 2 weeks already.

>I did weigh in this morning. Went from 240 to 231.5.

>I am sooooo nervous about this trip, need some encouragement girls on someone that has flown. This is my first time ever and I am stressing over everything.

Don't look at me! I panic going on elevators because the change in air pressure makes me dizzy!! LOL

But others have complained about the air pressure in their ears and advise chewing LOTS of gum, and maybe hit the drug store for a package of these little thingies called Ear Planes that are supposed to help keep the air pressure in your ears a bit lessened.

Also, the air in the plane is all stale, dry & recirculated, so if it's a longish flight be sure to drink a lot of water.

And of course, don't sit too long in one position - it's bad for circulation. When you can, get up and walk around at least every half hour.

>My son is taking his laptop, so I may be able to get on that occasionally. At least to check out my groups.

Be sure to offer him an appropriate bribe. :)

We are flying into Houston Hobby and going to Beaumont, at least that is where my daughters apartment is, but her boyfriend just bought a house in Vidar--not sure if that is spelled right. My son has flown before, but no I have never been near an airplane and can't seem to stop stressing over it. The trip down is one flight, and is about 4 hours. And then we will rent a car to go to Beaumont. I take it you have flown quite a few times. I know some people I have talked to say it is nothing, so can't wait until I get this experience and I can say the same thing.

Vidor. Unfortunately Vidor is known for that poor black man being dragged

behind the truck by racists a few years back. Last summer I went to a Girl

Scout camp where everything was organized by troops from Vidor. They were

all so friendly although apparently they have no dentists in that town. :)

:):)

Beaumont has the Babe Ditrikson Zaharias museum (?sp) and some other nice

things to do. How did your daughter end up in Beaumont when you're in NY?

Bring shorts, capris, short sleeves, etc. We're having highs around 80

although a cool front is coming through Fri. and Sat. Low of 46 Fri.

I started flying when I was a tiny baby and haven't stopped since. I was

born in Venezuela since my dad worked for an oil company. My mom brought me

and my older sister back to the states for visits then we moved back to

Texas when I was 3. Been on every continent except Antarctica for work

and/or vacation so lots of flying. I miss traveling now that I'm a broke

stay at home mom.

This summer we took the girls (4 and 7 then) to Wash. DC to see my in-laws

and they were sooooo excited about flying. It made it so fun for me to

share their excitement. Even they were bored within an hour of take off

though.

My daughter went to Beaumont on a brief trip to visit my brother, who was very sick and waiting for a liver transplant. It was suppose to be just two weeks and she called me on Thanksgiving to tell me that she was staying. She lived with my brother and his wife until she got her own apartment. He also got the liver transplant a couple of years later, just before Christmas and passed away a couple of years later from a heart attack. And she has been down there since. She has gone with her boyfriend for 4 years now.

I heard that Vidor was racist. I can't really see my daughter liking it there, since all of her friends are black. We will see how things work out when we get there I guess. My nephew is still down there too and I want to see him and my aunt and her son live in Nederland, and I haven't seem them in years. My brother lived down there for a long time, and he was very active with the Vietnam Veterans, so I want to see what he helped to build down there. I have a write up that was in one of the newpapers down there with a story about him.

I am trying not to stress, and plan to take a good book with me. thanks for the advice.

Yesterday I ate a small breakfast, then forgot to eat until it was time to

start making dinner! Usually I'm an emotional eater. I'm being more careful

today and have a salad next to me right now, and when I pick the kid up at

college (He's sick with either a cold or allergies - of course it had to be

this week it hits!) we'll stop in for lunch together, maybe Subway and I'll

get their veggie sub.

>I lost 2 pounds

I probably won't get back on track until a week from Monday, but I *am*

racking up quite a bit of milage the past 2 days with all my running around.

>I've started hiking through a

> nearby park once a week.

It must be nice to have a *real* park to go to. The big park in our city is

more of a bunch of sprawling lawns and trees with asphalt paths through it.

The whole thing is less than a half mile long and maybe 3 blocks wide.

>And, this week I had a great

Veggies are your friends!

I saw a lot of those in Orlando, FL in various apartment or housing

complexes. Those areas are nicer than our main park!

> and my mother is coming

> over tomorrow so I've really gotta get my place " company " clean.

My husband already said that *nobody* is coming up to our apartment. It's

cramped as it is with all our stuff, we have only 7 seats in the entire

place, and that includes 4 computer chairs and a kitchen chair we rescued

from the trash when our landlord was in the process of getting his divorce

and his now-ex tossed out everything he touched. Hey, it's a good chair! :)

Even if I *did* spend the next 4 days, 24 hrs a day, cleaning, this place

would *never* pass my sstep-mom's white-glove test. All afternoon yesterday

she kept complaining because the hospice nurse left a mess yesterday and all

my dad's medical equipment was still around keeping her from scrubbing the

rugs before her kids arrived in FL today. Once she started complaining about

not being able to clean we all knew she was okay.

NJ today.

Laurie,

I was a member of TOPS. It is a great group. Unfortunately the group I was with had quite a few older people (not that there is anything wrong with that) and I really wanted to be with more people my own age.

Congrats on all the wonderful exercising!

I can't believe I'm not despising this exercise because that has beenmy modus operandi for my whole life!Going good,Laurie
