Guest guest Report post Posted February 1, 2004 > hi jo- you said you had a tt right? did you have a hernia too? > > vicki ============================= I did have one but it was tiny (size like a quarter)and had no Idea I had it before the TT. The surgeon told me it was there after I woke up. Actually the kind could have been more dangerous..if the bowel would have poked it head through and got stuck it could have strangulated and set up an emergency situation. In hindsight I now know the " pinching " pains I would occasionally get were the hernia poking through. So Yes I had one...but didn't know it. The surgeon said my ab muscles were in real good shape and he " had to do very little muscle repair " . I don't know if that is why I didn't get a big one...because I did " lift " things all the time and deserved one. Jo

Well Now you do, because so far(Knock on wood) I don't have a hernia(that I know of) But my hair did fall out for a while. It started at about month 3. Scared me when it happened that I'd need a wig...LOL. But it didn't last long and now it's fine. You might just get lucky and not lose hair. Just make sure your getting your protein and doing the vitamins it doesn't happen to everyone, it's just something that is common. They tell you so you don't freak out and think your weird or something. If you expect it you don't fear it so much. Guest guest Report post Posted February 16, 2004 Pat I'm on my way to bed as we speak...well actually I'm on my way to TV land and hopefully I'll be asleep before 3am. I've just never ever, ever been able to sleep well. God how I envy people who can lay down and fall asleep. I have a rule..If I don't sleep for 2 nights on the 3rd night I use drugs! I made that rule after I went 5 days straight without any sleep...6th night I used drugs and slept 3 whole wonderful hours. I could actually Think again. Hope that fever has broken. You need to be healthy for your surgery in March. Hugs Jo
