I do think the foot pads work . . . Just not as much as foot baths! . . .

Foot baths are more economical too! . . . I paid $225 for my Ionic Oasis Foot bath.

Since I already ordered the foot pads I'll use them for a month and

then I'll look into buying a foot bath. I should tell my husband I want

one for christmas!

Great idea Stephie. . .

It seems that the women who use the foot baths regularly are getting better faster than those who don't . . . Dr. Kolb was starting some of her patients on them while still in Alanta. . .. I don't know if any of them are still posting. . . They may have moved on already.

At the time I bought mine, they had only three models . .. I bought their best model.

I don't know how the new ones compare to mine. . . Mine has a gray pan and an unit with eight elements. . . It looks like the new ones may be a little smaller. I'd see what they offer on ebay before deciding.

They make their own units - so you won't find them anywhere else.

Hi Stephie,

My symptoms 4 months before explant were:

debilitating fatigue

pain radiating from chest down left arm

anemia

confusion/brain fog

vision probs - loss of vision in left eye, blurriness, nystagmus, as if I was looking through an aquarium, eye pain, high intraocular pressure

headaches all day

food intolerances

bloating

crying for no reason

hair loss

heart palpitations

low bp and body temp

dizziness

freezing even with several layers on

Most of them have disappeared or diminshed in intensity over the last 6 mos. I'm working very hard to eliminate all symptoms but from what I've learned on this forum, patience, diligence and time is what's needed. Remember, just because this is my case, doesn't mean that you won't heal more quickly. We're all so different in how these things affect us.

It's hard...believe me, I feel for you. I too thought that the surgery would solve everything and I'd be up and running a week after. Just hang in there and keep at it. There are lots of women who have recovered through proper nutrition and detoxing. You can be one of them too!! - PH

Steph- Girl, I know it is easier said then done. I worry everyday that

I'm not going to get better, I'm going to feel fatigued forever, never

be able to have kids, my husband will leave me, etc etc etc. I know

these thoughts are not healthy ones and unlikely, but it is difficult

not to think that way when I have felt bad for as long as I have. But,

I just have to keep reminding myself that I am a strong willed woman

and that I will not let the implants dictate my future. They might

have dictated my past, but they won't my future, I will fight this, I

will do whatever it takes. You just have to change your thought

process. You are on the right track my joining this group, getting the

implants out, finding ways to detox, asking questions, etc. We are all

in this together.

I plan to go back to work on the 26th. I'm crossing my fingers that at

that point, my body will be healed enough that I don't need to sleep

12 hours a night!

A Dr. Myhill says this:

" The priority is to have the silicone removed by a surgeon skilled in

explantation. However, the problem with explantation is that it is

thought to stir up a reaction against silicone and patients often see

a worsening of their symptoms which may last up to 3 years. "

I'm not sure if this is the same for saline but It made sense to me

when I seemed to be worse after explant than before.. I'm slowly

getting better but it has been over 2 months now.

Krista,

I had my surgery on a Friday and I was back to work the following Tuesday. I had fat transfers as well, so my body was pretty beat up.

It was super tough but I managed. I just did not stress about work. I did what I could do, and that was that. I was slow moe!! This is so unlike me. I am a overachiever to the max. I am a perfectionist. I did not put out the best possible work but I made it though. Then I hurried home, got in my PJs and took a nap.

Re: Hair Loss

Steph- Girl, I know it is easier said then done. I worry everyday thatI'm not going to get better, I'm going to feel fatigued forever, neverbe able to have kids, my husband will leave me, etc etc etc. I knowthese thoughts are not healthy ones and unlikely, but it is difficultnot to think that way when I have felt bad for as long as I have. But,I just have to keep reminding myself that I am a strong willed womanand that I will not let the implants dictate my future. They mighthave dictated my past, but they won't my future, I will fight this, Iwill do whatever it takes. You just have to change your thoughtprocess. You are on the right track my joining this group, getting theimplants out, finding ways to detox, asking questions, etc. We are allin this together.I plan to go back to work on the 26th. I'm crossing my fingers that atthat point, my body will be healed enough that I don't need to sleep12

Lynn- I honestly do not know how you did it! Really! With the explant

AND fat transfers and you were back to work in 4 days! Wowzers! I am

one week out now and do not feel like I am even close to going back to

work. I'm sleeping a lot and when my husband gets up to go to work, I

think to myself " there is no way I could get up right now if I needed

to. " I've been so tired and achy since surgery, and I'm a lot more

sore then I anticipated being. I'm so glad I left an open-ended time

to when I'd be back at work. I just told them " when I feel better. " I

know not everyone has that luxury, I'm sure glad I do, because there's

no way I could have gone back right away.

Even being at home this past week, I feel like if I overdo it too much

around the house then I get really achy and fatigued and have to lay down.

I sure hope this passes!

Yes, my hair is growing back to the point, no one would ever know

that I had lost handfuls after surgery. The only effect I have now

is that it's drier...don't know if that's naturally what happens in

your 30's or if it's from hormonal/thyroid/adrenal issues. It is

getting it's sheen back a little though! Seriously, try not to

worry...hair loss is normal after surgery. I lost hair after my 2 c-

sections as well...effects of stress and anesthesia. - PH

It had starting falling out before surgery and has gotten thinner

than before I had the implants. It had stopped for a while and now

it's acting up again!

Not to worry...it'll still grow back, especially if you stay on track

with the diet and essential fatty acids. Mine fell out immediately

after surgery and then again 6 weeks later but all seems well now. I

know it's frustrating! This illness is not only hard on our insides

but on the outsides too...and how ironic that we thought implants

I know, everytime I think about it I'm so disappointed at myself for

doing this. If I didn't get them, none of this would've happened to

Believe me, I know what you mean. I sometimes think that I won't get

well unless I forgive myself for this mistake. Yet, even though I

made the decision, I felt I made an informed one. All of us were

lied to...by the media, by the plastic surgeon, and by others in the

medical profession who claim they are safe. Don't be too hard on

yourself! You've still got time to have a baby...just wait until you

are fully recovered so the baby is healty. That can be your goal

No, I haven't tried a candida cleanse. I took Paranix for 60 days

which is supposed to kill parasites as well as yeast. My energy

increased somewhat but I still have days where all I want to do is

stay in bed...they're fewer and farther between but nonetheless, bug

me as I used to be so active!

I went to the candida forums and curezone.com and it seemed that the

ones who were doing better were really strict with their diet (no

sugar, no processed foods) and didn't necessarily do all the

expensive supplements. Patty feels the same way...she said the

things that were most effective for her were cheap and easy to do at

home. The only thing I've done for candida is colonics, Fungal

Defense, Nystatin, caprylic acid and garlic tablets. Nystatin helped

immensely with vision problems and bloating. Caprylic worked great

for bloating as well. I tried grapefruit seed extract for one day

but it was so bitter! It's overwhelming, especially if you try to

research what works for people. Seems that everyone is different and

you just have to try and see what works for you. I forgot, who was

your explanting surgeon? Did they put you on an antifungal? - PH
