yes, but neither are complete proteins so they would not create as high of a protien density as soy or cow's milk would.

You don't have to go back to synthetics Laurie. Just get a compounded desiccated thyroid. www.womensinternational.com can do it for you.

Hi, Gracia:

I am taking Westhroid and have been for several years, but will have to go back to Synthroid due to shortage of Westhroid and until it's back in stock in mid November. I do take adrenal support. I also use natural progesterone cream and take 7 keto DHEA.

Doesn't need to be, but biotin is helpful for yeast. I read that biotin makes

the gut more hospitable to " good " bacteria, thus giving your probiotics a good

home and help them " stick " a little better.

Welcome to the group. I'm sure you'll find others here who can talk with you

about your situation.

What shall we call you?

I, also, have fatty liver.? Mine is the result of long-term Prednisone use, as I

understand it. I had autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) for several years; it's now in

remission.

I, like you, am trying to figure out how best to treat it. Weight loss is

usually advised, but even very thin people have fatty liver, so . . .

I'll see another doctor Monday; perhaps I'll learn something then that will be

of use to both of us.

HI

I am not familiar with all the medical terms yet. I have fatty liver disease. I

had my gallbladder removed 20 plus years ago and was very jaundiced then. I had

stones stuck in my bile duct. I am not sure if this has caused my fatty liver

disease or not

I am hoping to learn the terminology as well as how to keep my disease from

progressing any further.

?

Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

? I was told that I have NAFLD and am wondering where it goes from here?

Enough iodine will counter balance the goitrogens. You have to eat a lot to be goitrogenic according to Dr. Brownstein - more than most will eat in a day.

Are the beets juiced raw or cooked? What about the organic beet juice which can be purchased- would that be as good ? I have read that raw beets are goitrogenic and harmful to the thyroid. Thanks, Sylvia

I agree with this but it will be difficult. The idea that people should

be entitled to define whether or not they have a disorder is attractive

but tricky. A person with a disability should be a person with a

problem. If there is no problem (self-perceived or otherwise) then there

is no disability, I think

Some people we do not allow to self-define but compulsorily medicate

(psychotics, paranoid schizophrenics etc) but Asperger's people are not

like this, there is no medication and they are very worried about

compulsory treatment.

I think the spectrum idea was useful but is now causing confusion. In

the UK it is causing lots of weird thinking with the idea of

" undiagnosed autistics " . So the spectrum seems to be widening to include

everyone who seems (or feels themselves to be) a bit odd. Since we are

all a bit odd, it will soon include everyone.

Hi angel, USP powder being short is due to the increased demand for dessicated thyroid meds- they just can't use any old pig! Hi Sheila, Shoman says there is a problem with the new formula because of the amount of celluse filling" is to much and this is why patients are having a problem absorbing them.not sure of the amount. also this is why the fda is kicking up a fuss as this makes them a new drug which have not been approved.! When patients change to other brands this then causesa sortage , but don`t explain why the usp powder is surposed to be in short supply.!Angel.

Hi

- the shortage of thyroid powder came about because American Laboratories

Inc. who manufacture the desiccated thyroid powder (amongst other products) for

distribution to the pharmaceutical companies who make the NDT tablets, had a

problem some time ago when it was found they were polluting the atmosphere with

some noxious substance - not from Armour. The FDA closed the who factory down

whilst they sorted out this problem which involved them being charged a very

substantial fine, and having to buy in new machinery so this problem couldn't

arise again. This meant that NDT powder became in short supply. This, coupled

with the changes in the formulae for Armour, and people refusing to buy it, the

intervention of the FDA requesting that it be licensed, the overburdening of

RLC labs with all those who wanted Nature Throid and Westhroid - Forest unable

to meet orders, and RLC being on back-order until end of November/December.

The porcine

thyroid glands that go into Armour Thyroid tablets are only derived from animals

that do go into the US food supply. If any animal is rejected from the

food supply, its thyroid gland would never get into our product.

Luv - Sheila

Yeah, the trial pays for all the procedures that are not " customary care " for

CML. I didn't get the option of the money towards expenses, but hey I'll take

the great results and feeling good.

Heaven knows we have had more echocardiograms than most and I doubt it is a

Hi, I forgot to tell you guys something.  I had an echocardiogram Mon. and the

gal doing the procedure told me the drug company was paying for this and be sure

medicare or AARP were not billed.  That is a first, I have been in 6 trials, in

9 years, and have never had a procedure paid for by the drug co. that I am aware

of.  Now if they would just pay for the bma/bmb, that would be nice!  Ariad

also paid $1000.00 towards expenses, that was pretty nice too.
