You can request a copy of the results from the hospital - you will then know what tests they did. I find that test results from the hospital are a lot clearer than those from the doctor.

How sweet, thanks for sharing.

I went to a neurologist in Ft. today, who is having a scan

done on my legs and feet and referring me for a sympathetic nerve

block for the RSD. I am SO relieved that I found someone who knew

what pain I was in. I can get the block about 2 weeks after they get

the results of the scan, which will be done Friday. Had to schedule

it in Boulder to get it done this week, as I do chemo again next week.

This is wonderful news! Much shorter drive as well. Please let me

know if you need a ride after the nerve block. I will pray it takes

your RSD pain away, you have other things to worry about right now.

I had a nerve block on my finger last night, I am sure yours will be

much different - it felt so strange but it worked.

How many more chemos to go? Are they going to do a smaller dose of

the doxil?

The nerve block is painful, I think, and I probably will have my

sister here to take me. But, to have my foot and ankle (and the

pain moving up my leg) gone will be a Godsend.

Probably at least 4 more chemos, and they are going to do a 3/4 dose,

only I don't know if they know it yet.

When my former son in law had one, it was permanent.

I pray for the same results that he had.

Sometimes they remove a small piece of the nerve. It is painful, I

may have to be on pain pills for a few days. I am pretty sure they

can do it again if necessary, but as painful as they are, I hope one is enough.

I will not be driving that day.

It is the sympathetic nervous system, so I probably won't have

numbness. I will find out more in the next few weeks. But, I am

willing to undergo the risks to get rid of the pain, which has

expanded and increased at a rapid rate. I think it may not be in my

other foot, but certainly not to the extent it is in this foot. I

may have to do this again later on the other leg.

I am glad your sister will be here to take care of you. The nerve

block they did on my finger was painful for about 30 seconds - mainly

the injection and burning but then everything went numb and felt

quite strange.

Okay, so one more out of the way next week - good. I hope the 3/4

dose helps with the side effects!

I think they try the block several times and hope it does the trick

before they remove a piece of the nerve. Often this works and they

don't have to do anything more.

Sometimes it only lasts a few days and sometimes it lasts a few

months, but when they repeat it, sometimes it becomes

permanent. That would be the hope.

If it keeps returning, then the consider the more permanent procedure.

It was unexpected and super sweet. I am back at work today. Finger

bled again this morning when I washed it - they should have just

stitched it!

I can honestly say my arm where I got the dpt shot hurts worse than

my finger. I can barely lift it - feels like I got sucker punched.

It was unexpected and super sweet. I am back at work today. Finger

bled again this morning when I washed it - they should have just

stitched it!

I can honestly say my arm where I got the dpt shot hurts worse than

my finger. I can barely lift it - feels like I got sucker punched.

Ouch on the injection ! ! DT's are notorious for

making a very sore muscle. One trick tho is for you

to cough when they give it, as it relaxes the muscle

as tensing up makes it hurt worse. We all tense some

as a reflex. Hope it continues to get better ! !

I am hanging in best I can. . . . Dad is doing pretty good

getting past his last chemo treatment and getting out and

about some.

I agree with the distinction in terms, and would take it further. A person with cancer can be completely healed (not just remission of symptoms. A person with autism can be completely healed. (See Recovered Autistic Children and Waking Up Baxter) And -- although the belief is stronger yet with Downs Syndrome, they can be healed to. (The World of Nigel Hunt)(patterning).

And healing is freedom.
