Hi Theresa,

I live in VA and wanted to find out more of what you were sharing

regarding your experience. Although we are not required to vaccinate

children until school (I plan to homeschool as well), the pediatric

doctors require vaccination to participate in their practice which

seems illegal to me, but I was thinking to provide them with our

religious exemption form, or change doctors totally to our family

doctor, who is less strict but still encourages it.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Hi :

Some of the best advice I received many years ago, after struggling

with " medical " choices for my first child, was to use a family

doctor, not a pediatrician. When WE were kids, peds were only for

specialty issues or for newborns.

By the way, many family doctors still do attend births and are much

more open minded and exposed to a variety of clients and ideas than

peds. One of the family practice doctors here in Ithaca and his wife

birthed all 4 of their children at home. While he does vaccinate his

kids, he is tremendously respectful of my opinion that vaccines are

life long poisons and I would not put them into my children. By the

way, I have used his service on a couple of occasions when my kids

had accidents and needed to be checked for broken bones (which he did

with manipulation, and our chiropractor followed up with tuning forks

- no x-rays - you have to be patient and brave, and be very attentive

to their symptoms and their mobility and watch them for several days

- but I have found that we have only chosen 1 x-ray out of the

probably 10 or 12 times my kids have been hurt enough that x-rays

were discussed as a diagnostic option).

There are more open minded allopaths out there - I have always found

them out by talking to La Leche mothers (off the record), other

homeschooling parents, as well as the alternative health consultants

with whom my family does business (AND DON'T FORGET - THIS IS BUSINESS).

I agree with a slightly earlier post regarding " well baby " visits.

The ONLY PURPOSE of these visits is to insure that the allopathic

system has access to children when parents are more likely to take

the kids in for visits.

IF YOUR KID IS WELL, WHY DO YOU NEED TO TAKE THEM TO THE DOCTOR????

" Well visits " are a crock. The only time my kids got sick, was when

I took them in for a well visit, and they were exposed to the sick

kids! AND THIS WAS IN A DOCTOR'S OFFICE THAT HAD SEPARATE ROOMS FOR

SICK AND WELL CLIENTS.

However, I question the journey to find a " friendly " allopath

anyway. When my daughter was 2 1/2, my son was born, the first of 4

subsequent home births, and we stopped using allopathic care

altogether, except for the injuries I noted above. We have found

ASTOUNDING support from my chiropractor, my homeopath, a great

kinesiologist, acupuncturists and naturopaths. For a while, our

primary health consultant was a Native American midwife, and I had

never before, nor have I since encountered anyone who knew the human

body and its healing patterns better.

It is overwhelming to parents that we have to know so much to take

care of ourselves and our children - that we have to become our own

experts - but I feel we have no choice unless we default our

responsibilities to our babies to the mindless, heartless,

brainwashed allopathic system. And don't be fooled - those guys are

more scared than we are - because they think they have no other

options. It's tragic.

Regarding VA opt out for vaccines - I never had to use my religious

exemption there because my kids were out of the schooling system from

day one. Here in NY, we have used religious exempt for camps and now

colleges.

I'm sorry to have diverted so much! Let me address one more part of

your note. Your doctor (pediatrician) CANNOT " require "

vaccinations. They may choose to refuse to do business with you or

provide service to you (which is against the hippocratic oath, but do

you really want to associate with them anyway?) If you have a family

doctor who encourages vaccines but doesn't hassle you, then why not

end your association with the ped? In VA I found such a family

doctor, before I worked with the Native American woman. This family

doc was older and still made the occasional housecall!

I would not provide them with your forms or letters. I would just

stop going to their office. If you need your records, then simply

write a letter requesting them. They may charge you for photocopying.

If you are open to alternative support, try ferreting out folks who

will share their lists of good health consultants. I would begin

with Bradley childbirth coaches, La Leche leaders, INDEPENDENTLY

employed childbirth instructors (stay away from those employed by

obgyn's), health food store clerks and bulletin boards,

chiropractors, midwives (AGAIN, INDEPENDENT), and especially other

homeschooling parents.

Best,

Theresa

Do you really want to go to a doctor that is so closed minded that he trumps you as the parent? I wouldn't.

I think the worst thing we can do as a group is be condescending

to others who don’t understand vaccination problems. We

should try to educate but most of us unfortunately learned of the dangers after

a reaction. Please don’t condemn just try to educate.

All

Truth Goes Through Three Stages...

1.

It is ridiculed

2.

It is violently opposed

3.

Finally, it is accepted as self-evident

I just wanted to thank all of you for the help, although it was a

little late. I did go to her appt, but told the doctor I did not want

her vaccinated untill I had learned a little more about the vaccines

she was getting. Unfortunantly, (this makes me want to cry) I did

decide to continue with her Hep B vaccines (she recieved 1 in the

hospital) however an incompetent nurse gave my darling 2 month old a

Hep A shot, which is not approved for children under 12 months (which

I

am sure is fo a good reason!)

I do want to say one thing: I am sure all of you expect a certain

amount of respect for your decision to NOT vaccinate at all, and don't

like to be " persecuted " for your decisions. Like wise, I would like to

not be " persicuted " because I would like to pick and choose the

vaccines my child recieves or doesn't recieve.

I have a 3 year old the recieved all of her vaccines untill now, but I

will not be giving her certain boosters or othe vaccines she is

supposed to recieve because I am new to this " revolution " and may not

be as knowledgable as some of you. So please, instead of telling me

how

I should do things, just pass along the info! I am very capable of

making informed decisions :)

Thanks so much for the support!!!

sorry-I also wanted to add that before I chose my daughter's doctor, I

did much research to make sure he would be ok with me not vaccinating,

or delaying vaccines, and he is. The problem we had toay was with the

nurse, not the doctor.

It is pointless (according to the medical texts) to innoculate under 6 months as the immature immune system cannot form a response. That is why mothers milk is so important. Hospital innoculations dont jibe with the established body of knowledge. So why are they given ;) Kirk <wcjslee@...> wrote: I just wanted to thank all of you for the help, although it was a little late. True - and that is also the reason for repeated shots of DPT, in

particular. Each shot affords " immunity " for only a little while.

The allopaths advocate repeated injections under the assumption that

there will be no " unprotected " time if the schedule is followed.

Meanwhile, the children receive many more shots than they would need,

IF THE SHOTS WERE EFFECTIVE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Just as a quick aside. We've known several entire families who've

had whooping cough go through the entire family - the youngest in

these groups was 4 months old. Aside from the misery, all recovered

completely with regimens of very high nutrition and lots of rest.

This infection affected about 25 people. Eleven of them had received

the vaccine according to schedule.

had whooping cough go through the entire family - the youngest in

these groups was 4 months old. Aside from the misery, all recovered

completely with regimens of very high nutrition and lots of rest.

This infection affected about 25 people. Eleven of them had received

the vaccine according to schedule.

That's too bad. I'm sorry. I think the doctor has more responsibility than the nurse, why don't they at least administer the vaccines themselves!

I don't know the damage that can be done, but I do know that my husband has documented hearing loss from his first two Hep B shots. I'm not getting on you, I'm just telling you. He was waived from his third. I hope your little girl is doing well. Sorry to hear this.

Theresa,

That was so refreshing and encouraging, so thank you very much! I

guess sometimes we feel so isolated and cornered into this crap

system that we feel we have no other choice. I did find in the

phonebook a naturopath and I am going to go to the next LaLeche

meeting especially since I am going to tandem/extended nursing with a

newborn coming. I just hate giving birth in the hospital but we

really didn't start planning for homebirth and I think it would be

too late (a month to go) to change. But my docs are open to herbs and

homeopathy and gave me a little, wink stating they couldn't stop me

from using what I wanted as far as herbs, etc. Thanks again for

sharing your experience...you know it reminds me of the day we were

discharged from the hospital with our first child, the nurse said

that the last piece of information was this: " you are going to have

to defend your child from the medical world " ...and a few days later

we were in the children's hopsital drawing blood from a 5 day old

because of a metabolic disease. If only she didn't have that...we

would not have to ever see allopathic docs because like you, I think

well-baby visits are stupid and pointless. It is really as though

they don't think we are capable of knowing our children, knowing when

something is wrong.

The really scary part is that I just read something that our medical

communities are now shifting from preventive medicine to predictive

medicine based on DNA analysis. Yeah, great...like some weird movies

such as Gatica...just unbelievable like pharma food.

I don't want to digress, just thank you again.
