Hi Hal,

Not my doc that stated this. Some OTHER doctors words to a lady who

frequents the Meniere's disease forum. What she said was all news to

me. I'm awaiting bilateral approval myself :)

Well before we make ourselves crazy about this

purported 2/3rds having vestib problems, we would need

to find out first of all if the lady is quoting her

doctor correctly, and if she is, perhaps he is

referring to the temporary and mild balance issues

that people frequently have post implant and which

resolves itself quickly. Obviously if it's more than

that we need to know but I for one will not assume the

worst of this probably misunderstood tidbit of

information.

Do you wonder if sometimes people get wrong information since they can't hear?

I know my doctor is very very conservative and was reluctant to bilaterally

implant me until he found some new research in the last six months stating its

value.

Hi, ,

Is it possible the lady misunderstood her doctor? I find I often swear

up and down that i heard something, and heard it correctly, only to find out

later that I didn't hear it correctly or misinterpreted some information given.

I'm sure you will hear from many here who have balance problems and went on

to being bilateral successfully. Good luck!

Oh definitely Connie. I am proof of that! Even the best lipreaders

will interpret information incorrectly. You may think you understand

perfectly but what you " heard " wasn't meant in the way you heard it.

Oh boy...maybe that doesn't even make sense! LOL

I agree, that was a strong statement " 2/3 with bilateral loss " !! I

wish some of our surgeons would comment on this forum, even if they

had to do it anonymously!!

Drink LOTS of fluids; water, juice...try to avoid soft drinks (coke, pepsi, etc...). Sounds like the anti-biotics may be dehydrating you.

Take care.

I have a question. I had my first ENT appointment on thursday and I'm currently on anitbiotic therapy. I'm feeling very lightheaded, fainty..is this something that should be reported to the doctor now ( or on Monday) or is something that's to be expected for now and it will go away in a few days. Is there anything that might remedy the lightheadeness?I hope this does not fall into the medical advise catogorie, I'm just trying to figure out if this "normal" for the condition.thanksElke

Elke, I think you should see if you can get a email message to your

doctor first. Many plans have that option, especially if you have

Kaiser Permenante. Since you don't know if it means anything, it's

always best to ask. If your doctor thinks it is something, they will

let you know if they want to explore more. As far as I'm concerned, my

doctor would be extremly concerned if there was lightheadedneed and

expecially if there are signs of vertigo. Good Luck and please keep us

infomed!

I thought I was just crazy- I don't think it is constipating- but I

definitely don't go as much when I use it and I have actually thought of

using a laxative with it

Hey

This reply about the concrete torpedoes was in response to the question

someone had asked if Citrucel Tablets caused anyone constipation.

Sorry, the original post didn't come through with my answer! I hope this

clarifies this email I posted ~ needless to say I no longer take Citrucel

Tablets. And no, no matter how much water I take with them, I still have

concrete torpedoes!

I have been taking them for a while now and they are ok. the dose is the same as armour- that is 1 grain of armour is the same as i grain thyroid-S, so no difference only they have a slow release coating on them.hope this helps you or anyone that would like to try them.! angel.

Hi Angel,

Does that mean they also have T1, T2 and calcatonin?

Can one get thyroid-S from the same place as we get Armour or do we have to get it from somewhere else.

Hi ,

I don't use coconut oil because I don't like the taste. Actually I was up to 5

tablespoons a day and burning fat all the time when I thought of taking coconut

milk instead. Fat burning causes Ketones in the urine. Keto-Dia stix are

available at most drug stores. It's a simple test anyone can do. Cutting the

carbs is good but eat lots of non-starchy vegetables to get your other

nutrients. If you want a list of the good vegetables e-mail me and I will be

glad to share it.

OH! Coconut milk has more fatty acid and the other support nutrients with it.

As a test today on the 4th of July I had several times more carbs than I would

normally eat and was still in fat burning mode because of the coconut milk.

Is it just a taste thing, or do you have a reason why you dont like taking

it? I'm interested in knowing if its just a personal preference or do you

know something negative about using it?

I'm asking in reference to it being healthy or not in your

oponion.

I have been gradually increasing the amount that ive been using over the

last few weeks till I work it up to at least 3 tbs daily, from what ive read

mostly everywhere it seems to be the recommended amount.

I am using it along with a low fat, low carb, low sugar diet to try to stay

healthy and to try to lost weight.

I am losing but it is very slow.

I'm a female, 59 years old, so I guess its harder to lose weight

at this age, but, I figure that if I just keep doing everything right and

keep using the coconut oil it will eventually come off. ( I hope, anyway).

I love the coconut oil, right off the spoon its fine for me, but I usually

add it to vegetables, tea, and anything that I would have normally used oil

or butter.

I also love using it on my skin, and hai also..

I've been doing so much reading about the benefits of using VCO and have

come to love it.

I will be going for routine blood work for my cholesterol this coming week

and am hoping that it will be good. That will 100% totally convince me that I

am doing the right thing. Also, I take omega 3 fatty acids in the form of

fish oil. Those are the only oils I use in my diet and hope i'm doing the right

thing.

Anyone and everyone please feel free to comment. Thanks & hope everyone

will

have a good weekend .

Hi , another good source for omega oils is Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend

which is made of flax, sesame, and sunflower seed oils. It must not be

heated, it comes in a brown glass bottle (yeah Udo's), and can be

poured over salad, over baked potatoes, or used in a dipping sauce.

I used to take evening primrose oil in capsules, as well as flax seed

oil, but I got SO TIRED of all those gelatin capsules that I

completely stopped.

I also buy Rexall brand progesterone cream at WalMart (approx $17) and

use it on my skin, even my face. That's to discourage estrogen

dominance which can affect females from puberty through menopause and

beyond. Omega oils also raise the progesterone levels, which is a good

thing!

Sharon

Misty,

Depending on where you live, your state Medicaid might cover your

child for the implant. Check with them. And when you have him evaluated

for the implant, ask a social worker or finance person what the criteria

is for financial aid. I know at the Cleveland Clinic it's 4 times the

Federal poverty level, so a single person can make up to $43,000 and

still get financial aid. You must be a citizen of the US, however.

So check with Medicaid, which is STATE controlled. And then through

the hospital.

My 13 year old son is just about able to qualify for a CI. I don't even

have the money to get him the good hearing aides so I am wondering how

much more people end up paying for the CI and all the stuff that goes

with it. I don't qualify for financial help because I make to much money

(which is a joke because what they say is to much money is like nothing).

Just throwing out a question. Thanks, Misty
