Donna,

Fills can be done on several days, We are planning on having certain days for fills in the future but for now we do then almost eveyrday as long as the docot is availalbe. You may have to wait for him to come out of the surgery room depending on what his schedule is this day. Tuesday is fine.

I read in the other emails that fills are on Saturdays only. Is this true? If I can come on a week day, let's say Tuesday It would be great, because I'll be driving. Donna

Dear Steph,

I know when you hit a plateau it can be quite a worrying

time.

I myself stopped at about 190 lbs for over a month no matter what I

did.

I know I am due a fill myself at this stage but like another member

on here (forgive me but I cant remember her name) I'm gonna leave it

as long as I can.

By increasing slightly my workouts I'm down to 185 lbs so may I

suggest trying that.

Maybe trying a bit of exercise before work to get your metabolism up

may help.

The best thing about the band in my opinion is that most of us lose

quite a bit of weight in the first few months and it gives the kick

start one needs to hopefully continued weightloss but its not a

magic bullet unfortunately.

The good news is that you have lost quite a substantial amount of

weight already which I bet is not only a bonus to your self esteem

but good for you healthwise......your doing real good so try not to

stress eh ('cos Ive heard that can be counterproductive to

weightloss apparently)

I'm sure the experienced members on here might be able to give you

some tips much better than I can or perhaps the ever helpful Nina

might have some pointers for you.

Dont get despondent dearie eh

Oh and as for guy's opening doors for you....well they might be

superficial or they might be just nice guy's (there are a few of us

about ya know lol)

Good luck Stephie

WOW girl you have lost 36 lbs in less then 3 months, that is so awesome, you should be so proud, I wish I could say the same thing, I am almost at 6 weeks and probally have only dropped 10 lbs, will have my first fill next week, you know people are suppose to loose weight slower with the band, try stepping up the exercise a bit and I'm sure you will break that plateua, good luck you can do it.

Thanks Ken, I really appreciate your encouraging words. How have you

been doing? I actually weighed this morning and am down to 205 so

maybe I have broken the plateau after all, I'll have to wait a coujple

of days and see if it sticks. I got some protien shakes from GNC so I

am going to try those as some meal replacements for a couple days and

see how I do. Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for putting it into perspective for me, I may have

just been being impatient I weighed this morning and think I may

have broken the plateau I was down a pound so I am back on my way!!

Thanks for the encouragement. Once you get your fill I am sure you

will be well on your way as well, good luck to you too.

Thanks Steph, and congrats on breaking the plateau, just remember we didn't put on this weight overnight and it will take sometime to get it off, and the slower the better.

Yes, who knows what this lump is? Is it microbial? Can you apply

elelctrodes to wrist arteries for 10 minutes a day and see if that

helps? blood carried stuff might be some factor if this is a

microbe. I salute your efforts, pj, only thing is what if it's not a

microbe, will this help? who knows....we have only guesses and your

testing it...

That's great, Shirley. Did you get the tooth problems addressed?

Did you use electricity to help with that, or just std dental care?

I'm sorry to be obtuse, but I'd like to get a file to post in our

files from you, under some category like " teeth " (or whatever) so

that we can benefit from your experiences. It would be great to have

a timeline with what you did, if you have time! :)

You'll probably start feeling better in a couple of days. I had my

surgery August 4th & it took me about a week to really feel better.

I, too, dealt with the nausea & unsteadiness. Hang in there :)

Hi Susie...

I outwalked him I guess. I was really close to my house (that's scary in itself!). He obviously wasn't interested in having me for a snack and he made no attempt to charge me or anything, and there was some space (and a steep bank) between us.....

My surgery was 7/22 for a THR, after 6 weeks of homebased PT, I was given

6 weeks of outpatient (3x a week)PT. If you need to build your muscle

(my problem too) you might consider asking your dr for an extension on

the pt. If not that, a membership in a gym, to work on the calf muscles

might be beneficial.

The only joint that does not have pain now for me is my new hip. My

other hip is hurting because I have been using it more when favoring my

new one...My knees, which are both bone on bone, do not like the PT at

all. We are doing minimum knee/maximum build up of my operated muscles

which went on vacation about 1.5 yrs ago.

Good luck!

Just teasing you. You've certainly come a long ways in such a short

Hey ,

I couldn't ignore you and Gimlet, so not to worry. (Besides, who would I

share a mocha with?) I'm a week ahead in my reading, so I'm ahead of the

game -- for now. <grin>

Today we tried to find the problem with my FM system. We learned that

there is an ALD/interpretive system in the room, but for whatever reason it

isn't compatible with my Comtek receiver, transmitter or mic. It also

doesn't work with the infrared receiver -- one of the components of the

system. When we tried using both of the receivers (my Comtek and the

infrared), I kept hearing static whenever the person holding the transmitter

and mic moved from the center of the room (where I was standing) to the

front or outer perimeter of the room.

Can the adaptor that is used for FM systems be used with *any* FM receiver

-- including infrared? With the infrared receiver I could hear someone

speaking, but the sound of their voice was covered with varying degrees of

static depending on where they were standing in the room.

By the way, the built in system in the lecture hall was called an

" interpretive system " and has channels that can be set aside for assistive

listening. (We tried separating and combining various channels with no

success.) Are you or others familiar with this kind of system? It's the

first time I've ever heard of such a thing. :)

Oh yes -- I almost forgot... While testing the system today someone

accidentally turned something up much higher (I'm guessing the sound or mic

output?) than it should have been and it resulted in this painfully loud,

horrific low pitched hum. All I can say is thank goodness I had my CI turned

off!! The sound was so loud I could hear it with my hearing aid. It was an

honest mistake, but I have to admit I was *NOT* pleased. I hate to think how

painful that would have been if I had my CI turned on!! I also wonder if it

would have caused permanent damage to my processor?? The point is moot, but

still... I can see it now...me trying to get home with a hearing aid and no

Braille/raised print communication card. I don't mean to complain, but this

experience really made me wonder what I would have done if my processor had

stopped working. :(
