somehow made it through a hell of of day around here. Of course 's

friends are behind her and her family. Alzheimers is a hell all its own and

families of its victims are privy to that hell and are victims as well. If

Well Jon, you are ahead of me, but I am happy for you. I am now down

62 at 5 months and probably won't make my six month goal of 80, but feeling

great. Absolutely no complaints (except of course for the " eau de MGB " )

I am feeling good, and there are no problems or foods I can't eat

(unfortunately).

Continued success to everyone and Jon, have you heard from Gwen?

Glenda,

Great to see you post! I hope to meet you at the picnic. I am at a stand

still myself, I am between my 5th and 6th month. I lost 3 pounds in the 4

month. But I am not getting discouraged!

You have a great website. Lots and lots of pics (of family, LP, and

otherwise). I've never heard of Bravenet before, but all those little

applets they give you are pretty cool. Your hard work really shows.

J

PS: One of the pics (Gretchen's) has a broken link.

Louise,

What thyroid med are you on? What is your TSH? When I was on

Synthroid

I had severe panic attacks on the freeway, insomnia, anxiety, sadness, paranoia

and

sluggish thoughts. My TSH was 1.9 (in range!). I feel INCREDIBLY BETTER on

Thyrolar, which has

T3 in addition to T4. Many MD's are reluctant to prescribe anything other than

Synthroid,

however. Please check out the links below, and DON'T GIVE UP!!!

Hello.

I am on Levoxyl. When I was

diagnosed my TSH level was 94. As of late December it was

down to 24. It's like if I wasn't depressed before why

I am depressed now?
I went on Prozac Jan 2 and

today I actually feel ok. But I don't like taking all

of this medicine. I may go to work tomorrow. (It

seems like stress brings on the

depression.)

Louise

Work/Stress/Depression. Even staying home is

stressful cuz you know you gotta go back

eventually.

I'm guessing & gt;just guessing & lt; that once you get

properly " euthyroid " , you may not NEED all that medicine.

But each person is unique. While I was hypothyroid, I

was hearing voices in my head, having paranoid

thoughts, and actually believed I could read minds. I was

probably well on my way to myxedema psychosis--how scary

is that?!

And why is it taking so long to

get your TSH down? Your MD should be rechecking it

every few weeks and adjusting your dosage accordingly

until you've a stable perfect TSH. Did you check the

links? T3 HELPS WITH DEPRESSION.

Take

Care,
Are panic attacks and paranoia common for us

hypo's? In August, I tried Meridia and it sent me to the

hospital. After that and the terrorist attacks, I suffered

from several I would call them mild panic attacks. I

have never really been known to have them before and

just assumed that it was stress.
Also two years

ago, I came down with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Since

than, I have become very paranoid about being in cars

because there aren't bathrooms and knowing where

bathrooms are at all times. I have yet to drive more than

an hour away from home. I assumed that was totally

because of the IBS but now I'm wondering would I have

gotten this bad if I hadn't been

hypo?
hmmmm.....

Janine

Hello,

Well I had my first blood test on

Oct 30 (94 TSH.) Than the next one Dec 26 (24 TSH)

(waiting 6-8 weeks after 1st one is ok.) Than had last one

Jan 18 (6.50 TSH!!!) Starting Sunday I will be on

..112 Levoxyl. I am sooooo sensitive to medicine that I

am really dreading that but I'm hoping Prozac will

take full effect by than.

I will check out

those links from work. My hunch is telling me that my

docs won't prescribe it for me. Thanks for the info

though. I am finding out that the Thyroid is actually a

major organ and when you have problems with it it

affects everything.

Louise

that is interesting, I never would have guessed

it because I didn't really have one until after I

was already down to around a 2 TSH. although I'm

thinking that I might have had another one before the

thyroid thing was discovered....I didn't think that it

was a panic attack at the time but now I'm thinking

that one might have been.

I will have to see

what kind of books I can find...I work in a library

:)

Janine

Suzy, hi and yew, I tried.....had him convinced to help Bob get off

the stuff way last March...his way was to get him in the

hospital...we agreed, and they locked him up, started a 10 reduction

of the valium, Bob's schitso roomy called me one morning at about

6am, said it was Bill, amazed me as Bill was the side of this man

that never spoke...anyway, he told me Bob was laying in the bed and

would not get up and was all cold and shaking and had messed himself

and he had not gotten up since the day before...needless to say, I

drove in 35 minutes the miles that usually took an hour and saw this

wreck of humanity lying in his own filth, he did not even know me and

he had not had food, water or his drugs for 18 hours...I went

ballistic and ranted and yelled at everyone...his doc started rounds

and heard me screaming and burst into the room, when he saw Bob he

got scared, order brain scans and all sorts of things, guess he must

have thought he messed up by the speed people ran... I insisted they

get him to dose and send him home where he would at least be taken

care of...he did that and Bob was home in 3 days....since then, I

cannot even look at the ass wipe with out wanting to vomit...good

suggestion, but no thanks, Bob can get murdered by this ass all by

himself...
