thank you Bee- do you hve to take huge amounts of coconut oil or is several

tablespoons ok

and lots of butter? i just can't see myself being able to have 6 tablespoons a

day but i know i

can work up to 3 tbs. in my egg drink then hide some more hear and there. i

started today

with 1/2 tsp. 3 times today and i didn't get any bad reactions just slight pain

in my lower

back on the right hand side. i also started my boys on 1/8 tsp. 2 times today

then will

increase after a couple of days. to tell you the truth i broke down and gave my

son the

diflucan this morning and he was miserable for several hours and i felt horrible

so i threw it

out and decided coconut oil for everyone!

thanks again

i forgot to ask about the omega 6 ratios in coconut oil, my doctor told me he

doesn't

recommend it because its higher in omega 6 and can cause inflammation in the

body, he also

said some stupid stuff about how people have gotten ill from it which i didn't

want to get into

with him about it, but all i could find is that it has a lot of medium chain

fatty acids but i

couldn't find much about omega 6, and i know there's no omega 3's in it. i only

ask because

i'm already very inflammed and i don't want to make it worse.

i'd rather be taking coconut oil long term instead of nystatin or somethimg like

that which is

recommended in " the yeast connection " by Dr. Crook which is an ok book but out

dated, but

he does say it took his patients months to years before they over came their

candida and had

to stay on supplements, antifungals, and diet the whole time which i totally

agree with!

thanks again

sam

+++Sam, this is thoroughly explained in " How to Successfully Overcome

Candida " : " To minimize healing reactions or die-off start taking

coconut oil at a low dose (1/2 to 1 teaspoon 3 times a day) and

gradually increase the amount every 4-5 days until you reach the

maximum therapeutic dose of 5-6 tablespoons per day. It is also

important to take coconut oil in divided doses during the day and not

all at once. "

+++You can have as much butter as you like, but figure out your

ratios of protein to fat to carbs as I recommend.

+++It may take quite awhile to take 6 tbls. per day; but take your

time. You cannot avoid all die-off symptoms however. Good for you

for throwing out the Diflucan! Onward and upward!

+++I don't believe coconut oil contains any essential fatty acids:

omega 6 nor Omega 3. We need omega 6 but there is plenty in this

diet, i.e. meats and eggs, and the sources of omega 3 (EPA & DHA) I

recommend balances its intake. Omega 3 and Omega 6 need to be 1:1 to

ratio.

+++Here's a good article about the benefits and details of what

coconut oil contains:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/coconut8.php

+++The " good " fats and oils I recommend would never increase

inflammation; they help it! All of the fats, oils, essential fatty

acids and oil soluble vitamins A, D & E work together with the diet

and other supplements to provide all of the nutrients the body

requires in order to heal itself.
