Guest guest
> > i'm a huge tea drinker green tea, decaf but now i'm wondering if that's ok or if i should switch to herbal. what brands or types are good? i'm not a big herbal tea fan as they taste either fruity or weird, chamomile is ok but i love green tea and would like to find something like that? There are hundreds of herbal teas you can have, and the best are just dried herbs. I used to buy all kinds of dried herbs from bulk buy jars at my health food store. I particularly like catnip and ginger teas. Ginger and fennel seed mixed are great too. Here's some other ideas: -Herbs that are tasty: mint, chamomile, hibiscus, lemon verbena -Herbs that add spice: scented leaf geranium, hibiscus, rose blossoms -Herbs that are relaxing: catnip, chamomile, skullcap, oat straw. lemon balm, linden flowers, valerian (sedative) -Herbs that are medicinal: mint, sage, thyme, burdock (strong taste), dandelion, chickweed, echinacea, St. 's wort, red clover, ginger Here's the Tea Recipes on my website: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/recipes/menu3_2.php I hope you find one or more that you like. Also I recommend drinking Pau D'Arco tea, which is a mild antifungal and a terrific antioxidant - to understand how wonderful it is see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/anti7.php Cheers, Bee

Guest guest
Sam, I'm still nursing my 3 year old and I had that same question for Bee. She said that she only knows that it is not recommended for nursing mothers and can't comment further. The way I look at it is that I'm taking all this coconut oil and eating the right foods and that's pretty much what is doing the work. I don't love the taste of Pau D'arco tea, so I don't drink it all the time (even though I know I probably should), but I honestly don't think it would hurt my son if I did drink since he's on the diet, too. I mean, he's eating the same things I'm eating and it's only making him better. I don't think the tea filtered through my body would be any more harmful to him than giving him the tea directly which he has had on occasion. It might be different if your son was a newborn and exclusively breastfed, but I'm assuming at 15 months he's eating solids and not nursing quite as much as he once did. The warning on the label is probably a precautionary warning because there has likely been no official tests done on it to find out the exact side effects and the companies need to protect themselves. Do what you feel is best. > > thank you sooo much, is Pau D'Arco tea ok while nursing? > >
Guest guest
thank you , i would do anything to help my son but he is pretty much exclusively breastfed as we've had major problems with thrush his whole life and he won't swollow many foods, which has put a HUGE strain on me as i have a 3 yr. old as well and a screaming 15mo. old who just wants to nurse all day because he doesn't feel well and now he has an external yeast infection in his jock area and on his scalp. this has been the most difficult thing i have ever gone through because my other son took to foods then didn't want to nurse that much and now i have a very upset cranky, screaming, around the clock nurser! if you have any advice on what i can do to help him get some relief fast i would be sooooo greatful! thanks sam

Guest guest
Oh my! Your poor little guy! I can't imagine what he is going through. So then, yes, it's a no on the Pau D'arco tea. I didn't mean to be presumptious about the exclusive breastfeeding. I get a lot of flack about continuing to breastfeed and we are doing it, for the most part, once a day when he wakes up in the morning so it's not in public or when anyone else is around. I guess it helps him get rid of those morning cobwebs - I don't know but he doesn't want to give it up. This has probably already been asked: Have you tried giving your son coconut oil or butter oil? What about Bee's Egg Drink? My son refuses it, but one morning asked for eggs for breakfast after never eating on in his life. He ate 5 eggs for breakfast that day! I think eggs help him a lot. They are filling and very nutritious. Just out of curiosity, what foods has your son tried? What about broths? Bee's Bone Broth would probably be really nourishing and might fill him up enough to give you a bit of a break. Can you pump milk and mix it with some pureed meats and/or allowable vegetables like cauliflower? Do you think he has stomach pains? If so, what do you think about giving him some weakened gingered tea from Bee's recipe page. I get a lot of stomach pain and ginger really helps me. I just forego the tea now and chew directly on fresh chunks of ginger. I found this from Dr. Weston's website: http://www.westonaprice.org/children/recipes.html The recipe for liver-based formula might be something that he could take. Run it past Bee, though, because maybe it's not something she recommends. Let me know what you think of these ideas. Sorry if I'm repeating stuff other people have already told you. I wish I knew how else to help you. Give that baby a big hug from me. > <snip> if you have any > advice on what i can do to help him get some relief fast i would be sooooo greatful! > > thanks > sam >
Guest guest
Sorry Sam, I just reread that recipe for liver-based baby formula and it has lactose and whey in it. So, that's NOT good for your little guy. Boy, I think I'm losing it today! The brain fog is really taking over... Guest guest
thank you - its been rough! he actually eats everything that we eat which is all on this diet he just won't swollow it. he loves cheese and will swollow that and blueberries but i took him off of that because their not allowed on this diet and he got constipated from the cheese. but its the only thing he eats, we've tried pureed foods, finger foods, foods on the coffee table, stock, tea's, raw milk, everything and he won't swollow it. like i said he has a major on going problem with thrush so i think maybe he has a bad sore throat and it hurts to swollow? i'm clueless at this point, we're going to the doctor in the morning to get him some antifungals and i just started mine today, i know diflucan is hard on the liver but my doctor never heard of powdered nystatin and i wasn't going to push it because she didn't really want to give me the script in the first place but it makes a huge difference with my son if i take an antifungal. he sleeps better and is happier and doesn't scream all the time. i only have a 3 wk. supply but i'm hoping i can get a refill. thanks for the help and support! sam
Guest guest
i have another tea question- why is decaf tea bad? i mean if its naturally decaffinated using a water process and it has all these antioxidents in it is it still not allowed? sam

Some of us with adrenal fatigue have chosen not to drink it due to its containing other naturally occurring stimulants - namely theobromine and theophylline - these aren't good for adrenal fatigue recovery. Those are my thoughts, Anita
Guest guest
Hi Sam, I guess I'm a little confused. When I said exclusively breastfed, I meant that he only takes breast milk and nothing else. I know that exclusively breastfed can also mean that he gets no other milk besides breast milk. Is that what you meant? My next confusion is that you said your family eats what is on the diet, but that your son loves cheese and blueberries. Both of those are not on Bee's diet. Do you mean that he has tried foods the rest of the family eats but that the only he will actually swallow (because of his sores) is cheese and blueberries? Sorry I'm so " thick " ! LOL! I'd bet if we were talking face-to-face it would be a lot easier. I think if I were you, I would stop offering the no-no foods altogether (gradually, less and less so he's not suffering too much) and focus on the foods that *are* allowed. I know his mouth is sore, but he will eventually get hungry enough that he will eat the foods that will ultimately help his mouth to heal and make him feel better. This is going to sound harsh, and I don't mean for it to sound that way; I'm just trying to help: those foods are the only ones he eats because you allow them to be. I mean, if those foods weren't offered, he wouldn't be able to eat them. They are actually making him worse. He is able to swallow, though, right? You said he eats blueberries and cheese so it's not like he can't swallow anything. It's just that he chooses those ones because he's allowed to have them. Does that make sense? I know how you feel. My son was totally addicted fruit because I allowed it. I started getting suspicious that things were getting out of control, but people kept saying to me, " oh it's so great that he eats so much fruit " and I bought into it. I finally figured it out that the fruit wasn't good for him AT ALL and was making him worse. Eventually I found Bee's website and everything made sense. It's hard to take things away that you know your son loves, but think of him as an addict and you don't want to keep on enabling him. It got bad at our house for a while as I was weaning my son off carbs. He would display " sugar-seeking " behaviours. He'd get up in the cupboard and eat anything that had carbs in it. Seriously, he ate dry pasta just to get the sugar from it. Your son's mouth ulcers will probably improve once it's not being fed with sugar and mold from cheese. I know mine did, within days. Kids *will* eat when they get hungry enough and if all you offer him is the foods on Bee's diet, then he will have no other choice than to eat it. Maybe only offer him breast milk until his throat feels better and then gradually give him solid foods. I would think eggs would be easy enough for him to swallow, even if you only gave him a teaspoonful of raw egg at a time. Here is Bee's food list, in case you missed it: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods6.php I know this plan is more restrictive that Dr. Price's diet, but in the end you just want you son to get better, right? Sometimes we have to fight for our health. Try not to let the doctor intimidate you. If she's never heard of powdered nystatin, ask her to look it up. It's her job to be able to help you. I'd be more worried about giving the harsher drugs to a baby, myself. I hope what I wrote helps you. And again, I don't mean to sound harsh. I've been there [being sick myself], so I know how it is to be exhausted and then to have to worry about taking care of everyone else. Best wishes to you and your family,
Guest guest
Dear Sam, Natural antifungals like coconut oil are much more effective and do not do the damage Diflucan does. Also if your son won't swallow coconut oil it can be just as effective if you rub it into his skin. The same is true for raw garlic; it can be rubbed into his feet. Cod liver oil can be rubbed into his belly, and so on. The best, Bee > > thank you - its been rough! he actually eats everything that we eat which is all on > this diet he just won't swollow it. he loves cheese and will swollow that and blueberries but i > took him off of that because their not allowed on this diet and he got constipated from the > cheese. but its the only thing he eats, we've tried pureed foods, finger foods, foods on the > coffee table, stock, tea's, raw milk, everything and he won't swollow it. like i said he has a > major on going problem with thrush so i think maybe he has a bad sore throat and it hurts to > swollow? i'm clueless at this point, we're going to the doctor in the morning to get him some > antifungals and i just started mine today, i know diflucan is hard on the liver but my doctor > never heard of powdered nystatin and i wasn't going to push it because she didn't really want > to give me the script in the first place but it makes a huge difference with my son if i take an > antifungal. he sleeps better and is happier and doesn't scream all the time. i only have a 3 > wk. supply but i'm hoping i can get a refill. > thanks for the help and support! > > sam >

Guest guest
thanks Bee- i tried the coconut oil and we all did horrible on it! my oldest boy broke out in hives and had the worst behavior that day. it was like he couldn't control himself, he was not listening, beating up on his brother and the dog, grinding his teeth, just not his normal sweet self. and i had horrible mood problems as well, real short temper, angery, things like that which i didn't have in the past with coconut oil. plus like i said i can't stand the smell or taste of it which is wierd because it never bothered me before. to be honest i'm scard to try the coconut oil again because of how we all reacted-it was a long and bad day! i know you'll say it was probably die off but i was so stressed out by the end of the day that i ended up cheating and had some cheese and cream. i don't get the same reactions from the diflucan though. thanks sam > > > > > > thank you - its been rough! he actually eats everything that > we eat which is all on > > this diet he just won't swollow it. he loves cheese and will > swollow that and blueberries but i > > took him off of that because their not allowed on this diet and he > got constipated from the > > cheese. but its the only thing he eats, we've tried pureed foods, > finger foods, foods on the > > coffee table, stock, tea's, raw milk, everything and he won't > swollow it. like i said he has a > > major on going problem with thrush so i think maybe he has a bad > sore throat and it hurts to > > swollow? i'm clueless at this point, we're going to the doctor in > the morning to get him some > > antifungals and i just started mine today, i know diflucan is hard > on the liver but my doctor > > never heard of powdered nystatin and i wasn't going to push it > because she didn't really want > > to give me the script in the first place but it makes a huge > difference with my son if i take an > > antifungal. he sleeps better and is happier and doesn't scream all > the time. i only have a 3 > > wk. supply but i'm hoping i can get a refill. > > thanks for the help and support! > > > > sam > > >
Guest guest
> > thanks Bee- i tried the coconut oil and we all did horrible on it! +++Sam, it is extremely important that each of you start with small small amounts only, i.e. 1 tsp. 3 times a day (spread out throughout the day is better than taking it all at once), and if 1 tsp. creates too much die-off symptoms you cut back on the amount to 1/2 tsp. or 1/4 tsp. my oldest boy broke out in hives and had the worst behavior that day. it was like he couldn't control himself, he was not listening, beating up on his brother and the dog, grinding his teeth, just not his normal sweet self. and i had horrible mood problems as well, real short temper, angery, things like that which i didn't have in the past with coconut oil. +++All of your son's symptoms are caused by die-off. > plus like i said i can't stand the smell or taste of it which is wierd because it never bothered me before. +++You don't have to take it by the spoonful; you can mix it into foods which will disguise the taste. > to be honest i'm scard to try the coconut oil again because of how we all reacted-it was a long and bad day! i know you'll say it was probably die off but i was so stressed out by the end > of the day that i ended up cheating and had some cheese and cream. i don't get the same reactions from the diflucan though. +++It's up to you to decide Sam. If you decide to take Diflucan I don't believe you'll be able to cure your candida. The only way candida is cured is by building up the immune system, and coconut oil is a very important part of it. Guest guest
Hey Sam! I just had a food idea for your son: butter in a bowl! LOL! That's what I give to my son when he hungry and looking for a snack. Maybe you could give him some cucumbers to dip into it. I also make cucumber " sandwiches " - two slices of cucumber with butter and a sprinkling of sea salt in the middle. That's our version of " kid-friendly " foods! Hope that helps! Guest guest
can i tell you that you are my saving grace right now, its sooo good to hear from someone who's been there or is there because no one besides my husband and my dad (their grandpa) see's what i see with my kids behaviors. my oldest has had chronic hives since his 6 mo. DPT shot and has multiple food allergies and behavioral stuff and my youngest only drinks breastmilk and just today had some decaf green tea from a cup today. my oldest is totally crazy from green tea and his lemon drink (Bee's electrolyte drink minus some salt) i'm sorry i was alittle confusing- my son use to eat those things (cheese and fruit) but once i made the candida connection i took everything illegal away from everyone, except my husband who's not allowed to have cheese in the house right now because i'll eat it i have no control when it comes to cheese! but my oldest son is a huge meat and butter boy, he could live off of meat and butter if i let him but he also likes all the low carb veggies and if i put butter on it he'll eat at least a little bit of it! he's always been a very good eater because he's allergic to corn and everything that comes from it so he never really had processed foods of any kind and we're also celiac so i cut out the grains for him so all i needed to take away was cheese and fruit when we stared this diet. my youngest chews everything up then spits it out, he'll swollow stuff sometimes but not always and since i started taking my antifungal he's gotten a little better and is not as clingy. he use to scream all day and hold on to my leg and i couldn't get anything done and i nursed him all the time because he needed that comfort but i know he'll get better. my ped prescribed him diflucan but i'm going back in 2 wks and i'll ask for the powder. i think once we get better he'll start to eat more he's just been so sick that he didn't or couldn't so i'm lucky he's breastfed because at least he was getting some good stuff with my milk (also the yeast to, but that's why i'm here!) i'm also reading Dr. Crook's 'the Yeast Connection' and i can't believe that all of his problems are yeast related as well- i never made the connection before i always thought they were food allergies which they are but caused by a yeast overgrowth! so needless to say we're all 3 on the program and some days are good and others aren't. if you haven't read this book you should flip through it, Bee's diet and info is better and more up to date but this book helped me connect a lot of diseases to a yeast overgrowth. thanks again for all the support! sam
Guest guest
thank you Bee- what i need and want to do is buld up my immune system as much as i can, we went to the ped. today and my sons immunoglobins all came back good so he doesn't have a problem fighting the yeat its me basically who has the problem. i don't want to take diflucan for an extended period of time i only have a three wk. prescription, i just needed some relief because i'm very overwhelmed with off of this, and i plan on using the coconut oil with myself and boys but i took the diflucan, and it did help a lot but i plan on using the coconut oil for long term use since i hate presciption meds and would rather do something natural. does the coconut oil really work better than nystatin or diflucan? i guess so if that's what happened to us its been two days since that and my oldest son still isn't normal yet. for building up the immune system i know diet is key, then supplements, and coconut oil is that basically all that's need for the immune system to get back on track? what about supplements for kids- i read your article treatment for babies and kids and it mentioned liquid vitamins but i can't find any that are safe, do you know of any b-complex or cal/mag that is safe for candida kids? also the eggshell calcium does it have to be made into citrate or can you just take the eggshells without the lemon juice? thanks again sooo much Bee! sam

In fact the antibody theory is totally false. > i don't want to take diflucan for an extended period of time i only have a three wk. prescription, i just needed some relief because i'm very overwhelmed with off of this, and i plan on using the coconut oil with myself and boys but i took the diflucan, and it did help a lot but i plan on using the coconut oil for long term use since i hate presciption meds and would rather do something > natural. does the coconut oil really work better than nystatin or diflucan? i guess so if that's what happened to us its been two days since that and my oldest son still isn't normal yet. +++You cannot expect yourself or your son's to be normal when they have candida and take coconut oil since it causes healing/die-off reactions. Such reactions are necessary for the body to heal itself, and are unavoidable. To lessen the die-off/healing reactions you start with very small amounts and gradually increase them. +++Yes, coconut oil really does work better than nystatin and diflucan!!! It is a natural whole food which the body is designed to utilize. And it also provides so many other health benefits that are very important for building up your immune system. I still include coconut oil in my diet every single day. > > for building up the immune system i know diet is key, then supplements, and coconut oil is that basically all that's need for the immune system to get back on track? +++Yes, that's all you need. Only the body can heal itself but it must be given the proper balance of nutrients in order to do its job according to Nature's Laws. > what about supplements for kids- i read your article treatment for babies and kids and it mentioned liquid vitamins but i can't find any that are safe, do you know of any b-complex or cal/mag that is safe for candida kids? +++I'm sorry I haven't research liquid vitamins. You can buy powdered vitamins too. I think Gillam has a few powdered ones: http://www.supervites.net/ I haven't checked them, but other members are taking some of his products. > also the eggshell calcium does it have to be made into citrate or can you just take the eggshells without the lemon juice? +++If you don't mix the eggshells with the lemon juice it is quite gritty and difficult to take because it won't mix with any liquids; it just settles to the bottom as grit and you have to dig it with a spoon. It's too dry to take it in the powdered form too. When it is mixed with lemon juice it tastes quite okay. It is best to put the correct amount on a spoon, put it in your mouth and follow it with several swallows of water. > > thanks again sooo much Bee! +++You are so very welcome my friend! Don't increase amounts any more than 5 days apart, or more, depending upon how they are doing. > i also ordered some expeller pressed oil from tropical traditions so i'll have that soon too! +++Good.
