Guest guest
Carol- Just read your email this am-but I think probably everybody was waiting for Doc's input. I have to say (and I am willing to bet this goes for most of us) that I believe you should try treatment. Perhaps you can get a doc to do daily injections-which would be basically the same as Peg, you just get to stick yourself more often. I am sorry to hear of the crappy biopsy results-that kind of stuff really knocks a person on their butt! Go ahead and cry, but come back fighting! If I am remembering correctly, Doc posted something about treaing cirrhosis with alpha-lipoic acid and something else? Perhaps she can repost? Also lecithin would be very good for you to take, along with milk thistle and a good daily multi-without iron. gail ---------- >From: Carol <csean@...> >Hepatitis C >Subject: Re: biopsy results >Date: Sun, Feb 24, 2002, 7:42 PM > > Thanks Doc. Guest guest
Thanks Tat....I've been glued to the Olympics too....yeah Team Canada for gold. Sorry gang, but I am Canadian and that hockey game was pure joy to watch, whether Canada won or the US won...it was a good game...a perfect match-up. Sorry if I sounded pissed off....I understand it's been a quiet time on the board. I was sulky for a few days alright...understandably. Thank you all for you love and support, I've become attached to this forum and all the wonderful people in it. I feel like I know so many of you. I'm going to do the treatment...phoned the docs office today and told them...so I'll let you all know how it's going. Thanks again Tat, and everyone. Guest guest
Thanks Gail....I prolly anwered your questions already with other posts. I don't think my Doc would agree to daily injections....it's done by the book here. Actually, the day I found out about my biopsy, I was going shopping with my girlfriend, we laffed, she said she'd iron my " dress " . I said " fuggedaboutit " I ain't being buried in a frigging dress....she then suggested a nightgown...that's my style. LOL, I was in a good mood really. Yeah, it was a kick in the butt, but that's life. I'll remember the vitamins you suggested....already taking lots of vitamins and milk thistle, but not alpha lipoic acid...will look around for that....I added selenium and calcium too. I'm a walking drug store...if you saw my bedroom you'd die laffing...bottles and bottles of pills, scripts etc etc. Hugggggs Carol Gail Samples wrote: > Carol- > > Just read your email this am-but I think probably everybody was > waiting for > Doc's input.
Guest guest
Don't ever worry about sounding cranky with us...it's part of all our lives. You're going on Rebtron, right? As I recall someone else in Canada saying, they don't have the peg version yet. So when you start treatment and need to rant, rave, cry...whatever, we are all here for you and we';ve all been there. The folks here saved my life when I went through some of the sides and thought I was losing my mind. Carol wrote: > Thanks Tat....I've been glued to the Olympics too....yeah Team Canada > > for gold. Guest guest
Your liver disease is not too advanced anyway and you need to have a viral load test and Peg + Riba. You need to work on your docs or go to US or come here! Did you know that Canada health insurance is valid anywhere in the World. I have treated some Canadians and that is how I know. Dr Sharat Misra MD,DM,FACG Thanks Doc. You're the only one who answered my email, I guess no one knows what to say to me. The cirrhosis was probably caused by my 20 years of party life, heavy, heavy drinking...no drugs, no tylenol. I wasn't surprised that I had it, I have the red palms and upper chest rash, have had it for years, just didn't know what it meant. To add insult to injury...I also have an abcessed tooth...started taking penicillin last Tuesday and have felt great ever since. Must have had a lot of infection in my body to make such a difference in how I feel. I feel great! Btw, I am NOT drinking at all....haven't in 7-8 years. So hopefully the cirhossis will not continue. My alt level is one and 1/2 higher than normal, still in double digits. They don't do viral load tests in Canada anymore, DUH.
Guest guest
If you tear your hair out now, you won't have to worry about it falling out during tx! Mine is coming back some now -- pure white. De Faith is the ability to not panic. -----Original Message-----From: suzie [mailto:suzieandsandy@...] Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2004 12:44 PMHepatitis CSupportGroupForDummies Subject: Biopsy results Hi Everybody, I got my biopsy results today & it looks like I'll be starting tx after I see my doc in Nov. I am confused tho'. In 1995 my biopsy results were cirrhosis. The one I just got says "no atypical cells"Then it says "one pass yielding very scant bloody material." So does this mean I don't have cirrhosis after all? Or does it mean they hit a good spot? A small good spot? I have many more symptoms now than I did in '95, so how could my liver be in better shape now? Guess I'm going to have to wait until I see the doc on Nov 4. It's only a couple of weeks so I should be able to manage without tearing all my hair out. Suzie
