Guest guest Report post Posted September 9, 2001 Kathy Boy, that's a new one on me. I've never had any problem with mine. I know that sometimes oils will eat into some plastics (pit them) but I haven't had it happen to me. I've got some still in containers that I made back in May for Prom Season and they're STILL fine. I've purchased the clear with white tops and ones that are totally white. Where did you buy them from? I think I would write them an email and ask them why they're doing that to you? I don't know what else to tell you. M Re: M Hey cuz, having a problem with those plastic pots that you used for your alo vera gel perfumes. I used the frag that you told me about called Amber Romance, and that was ok, but when I use any of the other FO it seems to eat away at the plastic, and that is why I am having a problem getting them open. Is there a reason the Amber Romance doesn't do that. Is there anything else I can put this in. I have 50 of these little pots, and now I am afraid to use them. I have already ruined 10 of them. Guest guest Report post Posted September 10, 2001 Kathy I've bought them from different places. I got clear with white lids from StuffLikes, all white ones from FromNatureWithLove and totally clear ones from BetweenFriendsToo. I've not had any problem with any of them - yet. M Re: M I cant find the invoice for those pots, so I have no idea where I got them. Can you give me the site for the ones you bought with the white tops on them. They seem to be a better plastic. I know the FO does eat at the plastic measuring spoons, so I guess I should have thought of that. But people seem to be concerned if it does that to plastic, is it going to hurt there skin. I dont sell any of these, I just make to give to my friends. But I was embarassed when they told me that they couldn't get them open. Dont forget to send me the site. Guest guest Report post Posted September 10, 2001 Kathy Gosh, that must have been quite a while ago. I don't remember it at all. I buy f/o's from all different companies. Maybe you just used too much f/o in the glitter gel so that it ate at the plastic. From everything I've heard from people the best plastic containers to get is PET. That's like top of the line. Maybe you could use them for a solid perfume. With the beeswax in solid perfumes maybe the f/o wouldn't be so bad on the plastic. Try a small batch and see what happens. How many containers do you have left? M Re: M , do you only use the FO from that company that makes Amber Romance in those little bottles. Maybe there is something different about those Frag. Have you ever used any of the other frag. from other companies? The pots I got were from one of the sites you gave me several months ago. They were only .40 a piece, so maybe they were too cheap. I wish I could find the invoice, so I dont order from them again. You probably dont remember which one you gave me, do you. Oh well, I guess I will have to invest in some new ones. Can you think of something I can do with these little ones. I hate to waste them. Guest guest Report post Posted September 10, 2001 I just found this email I skipped over. Dad's surgery is a "day surgery" so that's not bad at all. I don't remember being told about Uncle Dick having cancer. Was his prostate cancer, too? Re: Attn: Cuz When they implant these seeds, does he have to stay in the hospital, or is it as an out patient? I sure hope I can talk my dad into coming down for at least a weekend. I know I wont have to convince my mom, but dad is a little hard to get moving. I am sure by then he will be feeling a lot better. I really dont want to leave him here alone. Although, he might like having some time to himself. I worry myself sick though. Well, I hope all goes well with your dad. It sounds like a lot easier way to cure this type of cancer, than doing the surgery. Uncle Dick did well with his, so keep the faith. Talk to you soon. Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2001 I thought I had answered it, but maybe I didn't. I buy fragrances from all different companies. So it's hard to say whether different oils from different companies would make a difference as far as ruining the containers. M Re: Yes, Uncle Dick had the same kind of problem about 8 10 years ago. I remember coming down to see him when he was in the hospital. He had the surgery though, and seems to be fine now. Did you get the other email, where I asked you if you used any kind of frag. that wasn't just in those little bottles from the company that sold Amber Romance. Those bottles say designer frag. Is there a difference. Guest guest Report post Posted September 17, 2001 I must have missed something. I don't remember you writing about a trip you were taking. I take it you were supposed to go to Cancun or something with Tony? When was this supposed to be? I know how you feel, though. We've hashed it back and forth with our trip. I don't think they could give me enough tranquilizers to get me on the plane now. I think ALL the airlines should give refunds to those people that don't want to fly no matter if they were nonrefundable tickets or not. It would be one thing if they could GUARANTEE our safety, not that's impossible. So I guess we can kiss ou $232 goodbye. Re: Re: Upsetting week () I feel that the money we loose on this trip is well worth it. Ours would only be $180 and Tony still refuses to cancel. Believe it or not, he is considering going to Can Cune with his brother if I dont want to go. I am terrified because of all the neucular sites in Penn. I really think this is there next move. I know if they hit one of those, we will all be gone. If I am going to die, I want to be with my family and friends, not on some island laying in the sun. I am so furious that he would even think of going with his brother. I have such anger about this, that I am afraid his suitcases will be waiting for him when he comes home. That is if there is a home to come to. Guest guest Report post Posted September 24, 2001 Kathy Just a quick reply. Sharon stopped here yesterday for a short visit but I don't remember her mentioning anything about Dad maybe going with her. She did mention she was going out to see you all, though. Maybe she hadn't talked with Dad about it yet. I don't know if he's up to it or not since he has his radiation treatments every day. Joe's family lost a real close friend of the family to cancer yesterday. He was only 62. I'm sicker than ever with a wicked cold so I shouldn't cook any food to take for after the funeral tomorrow. So I've got to go to the store and see what I can get as far as ready-made food. The guy that died has a sister (also close friend of family) and she's got cancer, too. She's only 55. She's going thru chemo and I don't know whether to go to the funeral parlor tonight or not. I always worry about people going thru chemo coming in contact with colds and flu because their immune system is low. I'm really in a pickle here because I SHOULD BE THERE. Their mother is still alive at the age of 86 and has buried (3) of her kids so far. It's really been tough on her. I hope to God I never have to go thru what this poor woman has gone through in her lifetime. It's NOT going to be a good week. Have to run ( I mean crawl) to the store. Catch you later. M Re: Sharon is coming down next week for my parents anniversary. I asked her to see if your dad could make the trip too. My mother would be so happy to see him. I know she has been talking to him a lot lately, and is very upset because she hasn't been able to get down to see everyone. I sure hope he can come, it would be a great surprise for them. Talk to you soon. Apples for quick sugar and cheese to even out the blood sugar for the next two hours. Does it seem to make a difference what kind of food your daughter eats? I've noticed that " real food " rather than junk (candy, cookies) works best--we do a lot of apples w/peanut butter. In fact I've noticed that when she's really hungry (and OCD symptoms more evident) sweets tend to make things worse rather than better. Guest guest Report post Posted November 20, 2001 Yes, sweets are bad for low blood sugar...big spikes and big dips....it gets to be a vicious cycle...go for the meat every time... Guest guest Report post Posted January 7, 2002 Hey, Cuz Yup, don't worry about me. As much as I'd like to have him move back in, it's NOT going to happen right away. The guy I've been seeing (Mark) called me today from Buffalo. I didn't tell him about Joe wanting to work things out. It's funny because just the other night Mark had told me that Joe would change his mind and I told him he was nuts. Boy, was he right or what. Anyway, now I feel almost more screwed up than when Joe left. I like Mark and have no idea if that would ever lead to anything, but I'm certainly not going to just stop talking to him just because Joe thinks we might be able to make a go of it now that he's admitted what an ass he was. He even admitted that I might not WANT him back and I told him that that was possible. Let him stew a little first. My counselor did say she's had a TON of guys his age as patients in the last 6 months that she feels are going through a mid-life crisis almost like women go through menopause. She also calls it "temporary insanity." Boy, if that ain't the truth. So Cuz, how's that teapot working? (sorry girls, inside joke there). Re: I'm still alive Very glad to hear about New Years Eve, cuz. Good for you. It is funny how the old fools dont care about you until someone else might find you interesting. Unfortunately I wasn't as lucky . I actually was in bed at 8:00 because mine just wanted to sit at home and stare at the TV. All my friends called and wanted me to go out, but stupid me said No. I wish now I would have just gone and let him sit here by himself. I know you want to get back with your husband, but make him earn the right, and make it take a long time. They always think we are just sitting there waiting for them to decide when they want to come back. Proud of you girl, keep up the good work.
