Guest guest
Ok got my part fixed, forgot how my name was in there so I'm glad I had the link from you Nick! LOL Now the question(s) of the day... why are you and Joe hiding, or should I ask what are your hidden identities?? LOL jk I know that's private info, just teasin ya's And no, in case anyone is wondering, I do not have Emerald eyes... I have Hazel... but HazelEyz just doesn't have the same effect LOL Have a great night all, I need to lay down for a bit, back is killing me and can't even enjoy dinner Wonder if we could do that meeting you all were talking about not too long ago and just see about a meeting room with beds instead of chairs so we could really be comfy? Well, at least it was hopefully a funny thought, all those professionals in their suits and sitting in stiff chairs and us in sweats layin on beds in our meeting room " Can the next person please roll their bed up to the board and pinpoint where their pain is without pointing yet again to their surgeon and using the hotels knives? " LOL The best thing about a trip like that besides meeting people who know how each of us feels and sharing useful info is the use of a pool/whirlpool for a couple days, that would be heaven enough for me... outdoor pool in the 80 degree weather would be a plus! I have got to lay down now or else lol ttyl Connie Re: Topamax Question Just started... > Hi Connie, > > Actually on your profile it said 34. I just turned *Choke* 35 in February... as I said, my daughter is 9, will be 10 in May.. I was never married, dated her dad for 12 years then 7years ago decided I didn't want to live with an alcoholic anymore, I couldn't take it. That's my life story LOL Born and still living in sburg (Toledo), Ohio, wishing I could move anywhere warm, the cold here kills my back. > Connie, I know what you mean. I'm 38 now, and have had back problems for 8 years, so I really haven't sought out female companionship. As bad as I feel, sometimes it's tough to keep it from flowing onto other people. I didn't want to get involved, and now that this possible third surgery is looming, I'm definitely just not looking for a social life. > Anyhow....As for the Neurontin... I never had the negative side effects of weight gain, etc, I'm wondering if I should have just stuck with that pain med.... or if I will be ok with this one if I take it at bedtime as I was told, I'll have to see how my taste buds are acting in the mornings. It's weird, it's almost like my tongue where I put the pills is numb when I take a drink, that feeling in a way, then again not a numb feeling, just a different taste...it's hard to explain, hopefully someone understands how I mean tho. > I had the weight gain with neurontin. I would eat even when I wasn't hungry, more than even a big guy like me usually does. I'm glad I read about Topomax, and now the side effects, so I've increased my fibre intake and liquid consumption. > Oh quick background fyi ( and others) who may not remember me... 2 unsuccessful L5-S1 Surgeries, currently on duragesic patch, percocet and now topamax instead of neurontin ... Pain started Feb of 2000, put off work May 15, 2000, first surgery March 2001, second surgery October 2001 (same disk re-ruptured 2 weeks after first surgery) .... in the Very shortest way I can put it all.... LOL Did go thru the meds, then physical therapy, then injections, etc etc etc > Connie, what's next for you? I'm hoping that you can see someone that can help you with the pain. Would it be surgery, or a TENS unit? Let us know. joe

Guest guest
Mine are white, say " Top " on one side and " 25 " on the other... and odd but they didn't give me a generic of them like they do with my other meds if possible (except the Duragesic patch)...I wonder why yours are brown in color, you did say they are the 25 dose right? I'm not on Elavil but thanks for lettin me know about those numbing for a short time in case my doc ever did put me on them. Oh I did want to tell everyone also.. I quit smoking on March 15 after smoking for almost 10 years (the second time of quitting, first time I quit was when I was pregnant with my daughter, started back again when she was a couple months old) I stopped cold turkey, don't know how the hell I managed to do it that way but I did and even more shocking I've lost weight instead of gaining. Anyhow, it wasn't easy, I did cheat a few times but got tired of feeling horrible b/c I was hiding it from my daughter who was so proud of me. Of course NOW I get the $6 off a carton of Marlboro coupons, geez haha Connie Re: Topamax Question Just started... > > > > I wasn't chewing on the Topamax.. the taste question is because I just > started on Topamax and after I took them, Pepsi and foods, any foods as I'm > noticing more and more, are not tasting like they used to, so I was > wondering if anyone else had this side effect Thanks! > > Connie > > Connie, you have to admit that they do look like brown M & M mini's. > I make sure that those and my Elavil don't touch my tongue. Guest guest
LOL You goof! Doc told me to stop taking them after the first time when I told her about the no tasting, it's now Saturday about noon and I Still have no taste buds :( Will have to see what happens when Monday comes around, doc told me to wait till taste came back, take meds again and see if it happened again to make sure it was the meds... but I don't know what else could have kicked off my taste buds so fast! Ahh well lets hope I get them back, if I can't taste chocolate again I'm a goner! lol Connie Re: Topamax Question Just started... > Connie, > > Mine are white too. Guest guest
Nick, I was thinking about that this morning as well. The chronic sinus infections I had, and subsquent surgery pretty much eliminated my sense of smell. And prior to the surgery, some of the meds I was on played havoc with smell as well. > > > > Mine are white, say " Top " on one side and " 25 " on the other... > and > > > odd but they didn't give me a generic of them like they do with > my > > > other meds if possible (except the Duragesic patch)...I wonder > why > > > yours are brown in color, you did say they are the 25 dose right? > > > > I'm not on Elavil but thanks for lettin me know about those > > > numbing for a short time in case my doc ever did put me on > them.
