I had to lie down in WalMart once because I just couldn't take it any longer. Try finding a place in a store like that. lol No way could I go as long as you do. Wish I could. Guest guest
I have lots of pain in my back and leg. I have found that if I break up the things I want to do into small pieces of time, and then rest in between, I can get some things accomplished. Sometimes it takes me a whole day to get done what used to take me about an hour, but little by little I manage to do it. Guest guest
Yes they have done a coupple of mri's in the neck thats where they found 2 herniated discs and did surgery for that and in my right shoulder where they found a worn rotator and did surgery there but all the pain I had before both surgeries is still there.... I have done tons of research even gone to webmd and everything points to fibromyalgia or RA or Both together I even did a test one time online that I had found to see if it was fibro I thought I did it @ webmd but I went back there and didnt find it but the results came back as possible fibromyalgia.... looks like I have to wait until I see a rheumotologist to know whats up I hope and pray he has the answers...... is it just me or does anyone else here feel that the more pain youre in the worse your memory is? that what it seems like to me atleast..... Like just a couple weeks ago my neurologist put me on morphine for pain management..... before that my memory was very poor but after going on it and the pain decreased my memory got better.... and on days I feel lots of pain my memory goes poor again.... I dont know was just wondering if anyone else was like this take care and God Bless Angel Hugs Cat --------------------------------- Don't be flakey. Guest guest
, I cant say that I have those symptoms. But I certainly can sympathize with the pain and the frustration of not having answers. I have sciatica. And then developed an infection from a steroid injection that has taken nearly a year to get diagnosed and now finally getting treatment. What tests have you had done? A few things that come to mind that you might want to explore are fibromyalgia and/or spinal stenosis. Look these up and see if your symptoms match this at all. It would be helpful to see what drs you have seen, why surgeries? Any mri, bone scan, ct, xray etc? JP Re: What does everyone do....................... can someone please answer this for me please??? I have posted my symptoms here before and noone ever replied I just want to know if anyone else has these same symptoms from what I have read most of you do but ive been trying to find out for 16 yrs now what is wrong with me and no doctors figured it out yet my next step is going to see a rheumotologist . I have had chronic pain on my right side for about 16 years now.... It started with my right shoulder then to my spine and to my right hip. I have seen several Doctors and have had many tests done on me... including checking for lupus and MS Not to mention surgeries done... on neck and rotator... The pain is from head to toe on my right side right down to my fingertips and down to my toes I get pins and needles, numbness, sharp aching pain, loss of feeling and usage. It feels like several nerves are being pinched. One being in my neck one in my shoulder one in my right buttuck. I noticed I have more pain in my lower back when I have excess gas or am constipated. The whole spine dont hurt constanly just sections of it... sometimes the entire spine hurts and it feels like its on fire. I feel so useless n ot being able to do any of my hiouse work and not go to work... someone please HELP!!! ------------------------------------ Got a little couch potato? Guest guest
Jackie, Unfortunately it is very hard to explain chronic pain to anyone else. The worst part is not having a diagnosis to tell anyone. I used to be the one all my friends would joke about how much I got done in a day. I exercised every day etc. but I actually enjoy doing the sewing. And I just don’t decide I cant do it. The pain just tells me I cant do it. Do you have a diagnosis of anything? If you are carrying a lot of stuff, you may be agrivating your symptoms. Have you had any tests done? One thing I did was get evaluated by an ortho and he sent me to pain management. It helped a lot because I do benefit greatly from the steroid injections, until I got an infection. But when I have the time in between injections, the pain is much increased, I used medication, yoga, walking, or on the bad days, I have just learned to give in and lay down. Typically though, the pain gets bad, I take a break, take some medication and wait for it to work, then go to another job. I am learning what I cannot do. What to modify. Etc. it is not easy. And I understand about husbands. Someone here had a letter to people about chronic pain….search the archives, anyone have it? The medication isn’t always easy to get used to the idea but it makes life bearable. JP RE: What does everyone do....................... Oh JP do I envy your ability to slow down like that. How does one come to the conculsion that life just has to stop for these damn back problems. Not to mention convince everyone else that we can't keep going. My husband is still trying to find me jobs. I used to go 110 mph daily until about 2-3 yrs ago (didn't know I had the problems I did then) slowed down to about 90 mph and now I feel like I'm at about 20 trying to get to 90...LOL Last night I tried to work at the bar, no 'tenders and two teams of volleyball, on my feet from 4pm-1:10am, had to lay down at the bar, then take our business partner home 20 min drive both ways, and ended up crashing at his place cause I was in tears with the excruciating pain. This has to get better......-. Jackie _ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Oh yes to the memory!! I learned that when I started with this intense pain from my infection, I couldn’t remember so many things or people telling me about things. I am not sure how much was pain and how much was the medication. I live by a palm pilot- and I print out each week and record everything. I also find that when I am in pain, I have no patience and I cannot listen….but I may pretend to, but then realize that someone has been talking and I haven’t actually heard a word they said because I was focusing on the pain. I don’t have any answers but yes, I can agree. I would defiantly seek out a rheumatoligst and maybe pain management. Guest guest
thanks JP.... their idea of pain management here in north eastern tennessee is sticking someone on narcotics and sending them on their merry way..... well how I know pain management from back when I lived in Massachusetts is you go to glasses and learn to meditate and learn to release the pain though meditation I guess doctors have different beliefs on it... I know One thing I definitely dont want to be on narcotics especially morphine but they have tried everything else and morphine was the only one that worked oxycontin worked great..... but it gave me devastating nightmares... I noticed that I have had a short temper too was just thinking about that yesterday as a matter of fact... real short fuse and concentration level bleak... I do the same thing about listening too hmmm thats odd take care and God Bless You Angel Hugs Cat --------------------------------- You snooze, you lose. Guest guest
well like I said earlier in another one of my posts... I have had an MRI done of my neck and right shoulder in the neck they found 2 herniated disks that were compressing my spine and found it mandatory to do surgery in order to prevent me from going paralyzed and fused them and in the shoulder they found a worn rotator they also found bursitis and arthritis and went in and cleared that all up....they also did an mri on the lower lumber where the biggest part of my pain is and found nothing she did tests on my nerves and found I had slight sciatica but not bad enough for surgery she said... man that pain kills if its only slight I cant imagine nor would I want to imagine the pain of severe sciatica.. they have done xrays of my neck and shoulder never one of my lower lumber even though I told her she should because the winter before last I fell down stairs and hurt my back in three different spots and never went to the hospital for it because I didnt have insurance at that tiime... She dismissed it and said its too late to do anything now... which I think was wrong but ok shes the neurologist not me..... ummm other tests hmmmm they did a spinal test a couple of years ago but I cant remember the name of it... its that memory thing again and it drives me nuts. I remember they had me lay on like a platform streched out on my belly and stuck a needle in my spine and tilted me up and down and sideways to get the fluid they injected into my spine all over... that test came back showing nothing irregular.. I know they have done atleast one ct scan of the neck but thats all I can remember.... Ive been keeping a pain journal now so I can remember to tell my doctors everything because when I get to their office I always forget one or two things..... like I said in an earlier post Ive narrowed it down to fibromyalgia or Rheumatory arthritis or both.I had never heard of spinal whats it called? sterosis? Im gonna have to look that up..... every time I type in my symptons in my search engine I come up with stuff about fibro or ra take care and God Bless Angel Hugs Cat --------------------------------- Get the free toolbar and rest assured with the added security of spyware protection.
