Guest guest
Hi Bev, Yes, you can do a lot of lentils, garbanzo beans, as well as some great " Nutloafs " that don't contain animal products " vegetarian " foods. Guest guest
I think you are getting poor information. You do understand that gall bladder probs are hypothyroid? Read Hypothyroidism Type 2 the Epidemic by Mark Starr MD. You will develop many " diseases " if you don't get proper thyroid/adrenal treatment. Taking cholesterol meds and avoiding meat and dairy will have you on the fast track to grave illness, as cholesterol is needed to make hormones. Sounds like your doc and you are getting very confused. Gracia Hi all, I've heard and read about not to eat soy products when you have thyroid disease.. Guest guest
My friend had her gall bladder removed and her current doctor (homeopathic) is so upset that they removed it years ago. There are many alternatives you just have to find the right doctor. My friend is so healthy too but her system does breakdown a lot. All organs are important to have, you need all the players on the team to win. Check the alternative options before they convince you that you only have one. Guest guest
Bev, You wrote: > >...Does anybody know for sure if soy just interferes with thyroid function > or & if it shows up on your blood tests? Indirectly both. Unfermented soy is toxic to thyroid gland function, and it ties up thyroid hormones in the blood, whether they came from your thyroid or a pill bottle. However, _fermented_ soy products do not have the thyro-toxic properties. These include miso, natto, tempeh, soy sauce, and soy milk. At least the goitrogenic components are greatly reduced, suggesting that moderate use is safe. Chuck

Guest guest
I know a guy who's Doctor put him on Lipitor for his cholestrol and told him to cut out meat and dairy. When he went back to the doctor his cholestrol was worse. He then went to a homeopathic/nutritionist who told him to put meat and dairy back (ORGANIC ONLY) but only 2-3 times a week. Cut out refined carbs and sugar, stop the lipitor and take fish oils (and something else that I can't remember right now). When he went back his cholestrol was fine. Just remember when dealing with western med doctors (I have personal friends who are docs) they do not cover nutrition in medical school. I personly do not believe in eating animals but if you go the route I chose you need to really eat healthy. I know vegetarians who eat only pasta, bread, fried crap, sugar etc....That's not me. OK, good luck! Gracia <circe@...> wrote: I think you are getting poor information. You do understand that gall bladder probs are hypothyroid? Read Hypothyroidism Type 2 the Epidemic by Mark Starr MD. Guest guest
Hi , Yea, I have did the research.. There is a medicine that one can take but it takes two years to work then when you stop taking it they come back. At this time I don't know if there is infection or not yet, but I wouldn't doubt it.. the way I feel..It's still going on.. I just know if I ate a food with cholesterol I would be back at the ER in no time.. One of the things is is if I don't get if taken care of soon it could cause perminant damage to my pancreas.. chronic pancreasits... don't want that......but we'll see what the doc. says tomarrow..... thanks Bev Stanziale <massageme429@...> wrote: My friend had her gall bladder removed and her current doctor (homeopathic) is so upset that they removed it years ago. Guest guest
Hi , I would like to ask you to consider your comments about meat and dairy - since you do comment on this topic quite often. The blood type diet, for example, recognises that many types of people need to have meat for health. Obviously I would only recommend organic meat or dairy for those who need it. In my case I was a strict vegetarian for many years - not the junk food type - I ate really well. But after the birth of my second child it became clear that I wasn't recovering and after trying everything else my holistic doc put me on fish and chicken - just a small amount once a week. Everything in me emotionally and spiritually prefers to be vegetarian but my body just does not do as well without animal protein. I am a type O. For me eating meat is medicine - I don't enjoy it much but I've tried many times to do without it and have not been able to. Beans and lentils and tofu give me tummy ache and gas, Soy gives me allergies. Meat goes down like a dream, digests easily and I don't get constipated - opposite to what all the hard line vegetarian experts will tell you - and believe me I've been reading health books and practising good health sine the 70's so I know all the arguments against meat - and believed them all myself. What I now believe from experience is that if you are not a natural meat eating type then you will not be able to digest it properly - my two daughters are both vegetarians, they have never eaten meat in their lives - they are type A - it works well for them. I hope this give you a different perspective and allow for more tolerant coments on our forum in future. kind regards, Kerry Re: soy?? Guest guest
I stand to my qoute. The topic I was talking about was " while under a gallbladder attack " . Meat and dairy should not be consumed while under a gallbladder attack. I do not disagree with Gracia that the gallbladder needs fats, but while under attack......not those types of fats. Guest guest
I wrote it, ! The stuffed peppers were great. I gutted the pepper. In a big pan I used a little oil and sauteed cut up tempeh on med. covered for about 30 minutes, then I added chopped garlic and chick peas. In another pan I made rice pilaf. It said to cook rice for 25 minutes so at 15 minutes and toook it out and pured it in with the tempeh and chickpeas. Then I mixed it around and started filling the peppers. I put the stuffed peppers in the oven on 375 for about 25-30 minutes, maybe less. I just kept checking. Soooo good. And for my husband....organic chicken cutlets and corn on the cobb. bev <bdowns45681@...> wrote: who wrote the below? Sounds great... how did you make your protein shake? Guest guest
agreed on that. Gracia I didn't know Jesus Christ personaly so I have no idea what the man ate. However, if he is as kind and compassionate as the man we read about then I would def. believe he would not stand for the way our animals are treated today, that's for sure. :0) Recent Activity a.. 18New Members Visit Your Group
