his psychological reactions to the tx aren't at all unusual, and may get

worse or better along the way. most docs sill start patients on

antidepressants a couple months before starting the tx, especially if

there's any history of depression, mood disorders, etc. if he's not usually

like that at all, then you both might be better off trying to tough it out

awhile (they might ease off? somebody else chime in here) or at least

minimize the psych meds because they have their own problems and are a load

on the liver too. once on them abrupt stopping can be real bad...you need

to study up on whatever is prescribed, so you'll know if he's having adverse

reactions and know what to do and not do.

I have read up on the meds, my daughter in law is a nurse and we have read all

about them in some of her books and what the side effects are and I really don't

see any of them except for maybe very short term loss of memory on occassion.

The verbal abuse on a scale of 1-10 used to be about a 3 now it's a full blown

10! It may just be him. I am trying to hang tough with him but I got to admit

divorce really keeps crossing my mind.

Thanks Rick. No he is not on any antidepressants. I try so hard to understand

what he is going though and be there for him but he just keeps shoving me away

further and further we have seperate rooms and have had for several months and

that makes things even worse he shuts me out completely I try hard to get in I

really do but he doesn't want me there. I really don't know what else to do?

Thanks Rick. No he is not on any antidepressants. I try so hard to understand

what he is going though and be there for him but he just keeps shoving me away

hubby,after he clears the virus. have you been tested? if you're negative,

great. you have to get his blood into yours to catch it. this needn't mess

with sex life, which can be important for you both to keep both your

energies up and balanced well. without condoms, no unnecessary roughness,

chances of passing it are something like 1:1000 maybe less, i forget.

don't share razors, toothbrushes, or anything where blood could be involved.

bleeding gums/dental infections can be a way it can get in. it won't make

it through the stomach.

I don't have HCV, but I have written about it for a couple

publications recently. All of the patients I talked had pretty much

the same story about how

the treatments caused them to get angry and short with people around

them. One of the people I interviewed summed up the problems nicely

this way.

" People around me heard the same voice, saw the same body, but after

a point they thought who was this guy? My personality changed. I got

irritated easier, over really little things. "

In my other life I am a Psych RN, so my suggestion (as hard as it

may be) is to remember that this is the medication talking and not

your loved one.

Like some giant cosmic kidney stone, this too shall pass.

Oh ok. Yes I have been tested and it was negative. His dr. said there was a 5%

chance that it could be passed sexually. Immediatly we got seperate rooms. He

has just weired out so much I never know what he is going to be like from one

hour to the next. We don't share any of those items you metioned. I try and be

very careful and cautious about everything. It has taken a huge toll on our

marriage of only 9 months. Newlyweds we aren't and it's sad we still should be

on our honeymoon. I just don't know how to help me and he won't let me. I have

suggested marriage counceling and he refused.

....i don't think the 5% is correct at all, it's closer to fraction of a

percent...almost negligible, except if you happen to some be that slim

exception then you're stuck. last i've read, the official " standard of

car " does NOT recommend condoms, just keep in mind about swapping blood.

yourself -anywhere, anytime- to help keep centered, an appropriate level of

detachment, & unwind. if he sees it working for you he might get receptive

to getting into it himself?

....i don't think the 5% is correct at all, it's closer to fraction of a

percent...almost negligible, except if you happen to some be that slim

exception then you're stuck. last i've read, the official " standard of

car " does NOT recommend condoms, just keep in mind about swapping blood.

Sounds like you have 2 major problems now. Methinks you must separate

them, and deal with them: Your marriage should be primary. If you can

reconcile at all, do so. None of us are quaranteed a life with one

spouse and without setbacks and without diseases. I'm on my third

marriage, and we've been together 22 years, doing very well. So, try

to reconcile any way you can. Perhaps before you next see the Doc,

you could email or fax him/her just what you're saying here. Get the

Doc in the middle by having them talk to your hub, and prescribing

anti-depressents. It is usually quite visible to others that he is

depressed. Some of my Docs have also asked me or my wife how we are

getting along, because a good Doc realizes the needs of the both of

you. You'll never make it alone, and he needs you, too. Just hang on

while your Doc works on his depression, and try to avoid conflict.

Stress and internal conflicts are indeed very dangerous for all of

us, but expecially for him going through Tx. So, vent here in the

forums, and try to give your relationship some time, especially if

the Doc puts him on something.

Hello ,

My name is Annette, I am in Utah, and I have liver disease other than Hep C. I

was diagnosed on 10-5-06 because my enzymes were HUGE 1700 and 1300, bilirubin

7.7. Norms are about 50 high, and 1.5 on the bilirubin.

The folks at this Hepatitis group are wonderful and so helpful; however, my

husband and I, after examining all our options decided NOT to do the orthodox

recommended treatment tests other than blood work and ultrasound. (These tests

were done and have ruled out Hep A,B,C, Wilcox, cancer and blocked ducts.

Conclusion: I have autoimmune disease)

After thorough research and discussing my reports with several doctors, we have

also concluded my disease was caused by toxin/lumbar steroid injections I

received for a herniated disk in my back that took place Jan,Feb,Mar 2006. To

further exacerbate the problem I was taking huge amounts of Advil, Tylenol with

codeine and Hydrocodone for the back pain ... all very bad for the liver.

To date I have refused the biopsy and any other orthodox medical treatment as we

do not believe they will help only hurt or cause side affects.

I am now in Mexico at a wholistic treatment hospital called “Hospital Santa

”. The originator is Dr. Kurt Donsbach. (There are friends in this

group who have very negative opinions about Dr. Donsbach, and surely they will

share their feelings.)

Dr. D’s opinion about biopsy is: " It's like taking a balloon, filling it with

ink, submerging it into a tank of water then puncturing it with a needle, then

remove the needle. " (draw your own conclusions)

There are currently patients at the hospital who have shared their experiences

with biopsy’s and the consensus is that many of the organs that had cancer and

subsequently biopsied caused the cancer to spread. Many have told me that they

didn’t feel bad until the biopsy. I know that most of the members of this group

fully recommend having the biopsy to KNOW what type of hep you have or what

condition your liver be in. I disagree with that opinion as I choose not to do

any of the treatments whatever the “findings”.

Therefore, we are opting to heal the body and my immune system to eradicate the

problem without any invasive treatments other than xray, mri, ultrasound, urine

or blood tests. Dr. D’s protocol for me is many different supplements, detox and

neuropeptide injections.

I already feel better after only 5 days of treatment … appetite has returned as

the nausea is gone, energy back, sleeping again. I will be here another 10 days

for continued treatment then follow the regime at home for a year.

You ask is there a cure? It appears not. But IF you control it and feel ok … and

you’re not in danger … it makes no difference to me.

I hope I haven’t overloaded this message with too much information, I just

wanted to share what we have chosen as my path of healing.
