Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Hello; I am new to this post but I have something I need to say; I have noticed that there seems to be two trains of thought on this e-mail list. One, is that the liver flush, done properly with colonics, and done properly, will help people really recover and be able to move on with their lives. These testimonials are given by people that have lived through this terrible disease and have finally gotten some hope for the rest of their lives. I have not done a liver flush yet but I am looking forward to the hope that is in the future. Another train of thought is by someone who is trying to sell products to those of us who are suffering. I bought into it and tried some inulin which didn't do anything for me. I get confused when this person is constantly nay saying the liver flush protocal that really works and keeps getting onto the glutathiane stuff and all that cold pressed whey stuff. In the 12 step groups I am in, which I know that this one is not, they have a tradition that they incorporate in the groups which is that the group has " no other affiliation " , such as someone constantly pushing products to the rest of the group. I wish we could follow that tradition here. I don't personally have a problem with the person that is doing this. He is trying to make a living, but for the good of the group, I wish we could have a rule like that. That yes, you can add posts of your own personal experience, but don't try and push your products and try and make us feel guilty for not buying certain ones. I just had to get that off my chest. I have suffered too long and hard with disease to go for more products that just don't do much, or just prolong the agony. Thanks for letting me share. glutathione > Quotes from this Long String... > > " If we reduce toxin load there will be much less glutathione > depletion and thus better recovery. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 People should never feel bad for expressing their opinion. I think that doing that was part of why I got sick in the first place, suppressed emotions. Good luck with the flush preparations. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me. Please consider looking at books like " the amazing liver cleanse " and " key to health and rejuvenation " just doing the flush itself is great, but there is so much more you can also do for yourself without taking drugs or supps. g > Hello; > I am new to this post but I have something I need to say; > I have noticed that there seems to be two trains of thought on this e-mail > list. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Hi everyone well after a seven month hiatus I have decided to once again check out this group. Must say you all seem like a much nicer, and less hostile, crowd! (I have been lurking!) I so agree with you Rick.....we need a group with a moderator. Did all those who were in the group last year leave due to good health, or they were tired of the bickering. For me it was the bickering and outright hostility. So if you want to set up a new group of positive, seekers of health, count me in! Oh and Rick, Congratulations.....I am so proud of you. I remember what state you were in and you seem so much happier and healthier now. Way to go! Me, I am still fighting the big fight, but now have a major complication......pregnancy. All these herbs are out the window for me. Liver flushing....well after searching curzone's forum many have tried it, but not during the first trimester. so I am stuck. I would love to cleanse, but I am afraid to try, and really afraid to upset my already upset body any more. I will have to see in a few months of I can pick up the nerve to try it then.... Has any one here had any success while pregnant? If so Please let me know.. Hanida Quote

Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 , You make an excellent point. I am so sorry you tried a product that didn't work. I have been there SO MANY TIMES!!!! It's why I don't put the money out anymore, unless it's directed by my Naturopath... and I can't even afford here anymore. lol. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 , I think part of the problem is this group has no moderator. This same person used to be part of the CFSexperimental group but no longer is and I’m not sure why. That group does have a moderator, but I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. That is a very large group just like this one so I’m not sure why he left. What I really, really do not understand is why Duncan doesn’t delve more into what healed G and slickrick and Deborah. If I truly wanted to heal people I know I would be right on that. There’s no need to feel guilty about buying certain products. When I first got sick, I would hear about how something helped someone and would literally grab my coat and go to the healthfood store and buy some. Now I buy almost nothing – just digestive enzymes and HCL and hope I won’t need those much longer either. And then the odd little thing to help out – right now I’m taking chanca piedra. I may get some flack for saying this but it wouldn’t bother me if the supplement industry dried up, as long as no one was hurt of course, with the exception that I do need my digestive enzymes and HCL for now. : ) Re: What are we really here for? > Hello; > I am new to this post but I have something I need to say; > I have noticed that there seems to be two trains of thought on this e-mail > list. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I guess we could ask a moderator of another group. We’d also need some volunteers. : ) Another option would be for someone to start another group and moderate it and whoever wanted to join could. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 The people at curezone started this group as well as many others. The problem is that curezone is staffed completely by volunteers, and they get stretched pretty thin. We could start our own group, with a couple of different moderators. Who's in? Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 It's good to see you back!!!! For those that weren't here then, Handida always went out of her way to help others. She's one of the reasons I was brave enough to finally try enemas. That was a big step for me. I can be a big baby. I would ask s about being pregnant. If you don't feel comfortable with it, definately don't do it. I'm glad that you're back. Rick > Hi everyone > well after a seven month hiatus I have decided to once again check out this > group. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Hi ! I agree with your post here... I have never done anything that Duncan has proposed and I have never done a colonic or the s Moritz liver cleanse. I am following the directions of my naturopath and have rid myself of yeast by finding out what foods my body had become sensitive to and removing all " dead " foods from my diet. I eat as much raw fruits and veggies as I can with very little cooked meat. I have removed all refined white sugar, white flour and white rice. The more crap I remove, the better I feel eating live foods. I do take acidophilus pro/prebiotics, a natural vit/min suppliment, and cod liver oil each day. I also juice wheatgrass and sometimes go for a day just drinking fresh juice as a liver cleanse. So all of us have our way of feeling better. Some methods work for some people, some methods work for others. I may try the liver cleanse method since it is relatively cheap and I think it would compliment a longer term juice fast (I will be trying this next month). Plus the books are much cheaper than suppliments. I already bought them online in PDF format for about 5bucks. Lord knows I've spent much more money on other things! So really it is up to you which route you want to choose. I find I have changed a great deal since all of this and am trying to find a more natural way of living. Just listen to your body and mind and decide what is best for you! *8-) --- <lisa-powell@...> wrote: > Hello; > I am new to this post but I have something I need to > say; > I have noticed that there seems to be two trains of > thought on this e-mail > list. Guest guest Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Have to throw my 2 cents in. Duncan does not push his products, if he did he would mention them in every post, which he doesn't. He does let you know that you can get items from him. He is a very knowledgable practicing nutritionist and has cleared up many misconceptions. Also, those of us who no longer have any health insurance can't go to naturopaths, holistic doctors, etc., so Duncan's information is invaluable. I personally believe that if the liver flushes work for you, that's great. But you have to remember that they simply do not work for everyone. We don't all have the exact same thing, so different things work for different people. If you've even been part of a 12-step group, the most basic rule is: take what information you want and leave the rest. Period. The person who posted that if you don't want to read posts from someone, you can block their posts. Chris Quote

I think that will tide me over until the second trimester and then I will ask s. Others have done it with no problems, except for the Epsom salt part and they have posted their results. So there is hope! I have to get myself into some form of shape for July, when I go to Europe, and I too will be indulging in cheese! I can't wait....now you have me thinking about cheese...... Guest guest Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Chirs and everyone, Just a reminder – the liver flushes are just a part of what many of us are doing as part of s Moritz protocol. It is what we talk about most , but other equially important factors are : when to eat when to sleep what to eat colonics kidney cleanses other things that are mentioned on his forum on www.curezone.com I’m not even sure if the liver flushes on their own would be enough, so maybe that is, as you say, why they don’t work for everyone. I know that for myself, if I only liver flushed, without working on my digestion, blood/lymph would continuously be clogged from indigestion (I can feel my lymph glands swell when I don’t digest a meal) and I would not get well. I believe it is the combination that has allowed me to go back to work full-time. Re: What are we really here for? Have to throw my 2 cents in. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I agree with but I'm glad that this topic was brought up. Most support groups do not allow members to advertise their products, and if a majority wishes, we could adopt this as a rule for our group. Unless I've missed something, currently there is no such rule. Moreover, I find Duncan's posts to be most informative and based on his extensive experience. His website is also amazing. We do need to resolve this issue, as I find the hostility of some members toward Duncan to detract from the supportive nature of the group. I particularly thought it was inappropriate for someone to refer to Duncan's " greed. " If Duncan didn't believe he was helping people, I don't think he would be making his living this way. It seems to me there are four options: (1) Ban those with products to sell from the group, since their recommendations might not be objective. (2) Allow sellers to be members but without mentioning products to sell. (3) Allow sellers to make mention of their products but with full disclosure -- a note that they are a supplement dealer under their name with every post. (4) Leave the sellers alone and trust group members to decide whether to take or leave their advice. I would prefer 2, 3, or 4 but NOT the current situation. The inulin is required in order to correct bowel bacteria, at least until inulin-containing foods can do the job on their own. Liver flushes are necessary in a lot of people as part of a cleansing program to reduce toxin load on the organs, especially the liver. But other facets of cleansing are also important, for example getting the toxin load out of the fatty tissues and such. But these three things that confuse you are really only the start of it... From a wholistic viewpoint you would still look at the fact that as Nobel laureate Linus ing stated 'every disease and ailment is linked to a mineral deficiency'. You'd look at your mineral intake; it's pretty hard to be healthy when you're malnourished. You'd think about pH (acidity) and its link to incorrect mineral levels, toxin load and poor diet. You'd consider balancing/improving HGH and other hormone levels to normal youthful values, as a few on this list are doing. Consider too that sources of pollution besides that from bad diet and environmental toxins include electromagnetic interference, which reduces immune system responses and actually has a cancer link on its own. The list of considerations is much longer than that, and they all relate in some way to the overall level of disease you'll experience, including susceptability to candida. We've touched on wholistic treatments/concerns/conditions that predispos a person to disease, candida particularly, and in my view this is really what it's all about; I'm sure several of the more discerning contributors to this list will understand this point exactly. So, the best advice I have for the confused is to be inquisitive and learn what you can, and pass it on to the population at large, because if we lose our natural right to use the Internet to promulgate health information, as is being proposed in addition to limiting our access to supplements and vitamins, we as a population won't have the luxury of learning how to maintain good health except from people like us. I think that's what we're really here for - wellness - as the bigger picture. If you don't want to read about wholistic viewpoints to health, you can limit your knowledge by simply deleting it. regards, Duncan Crow Quote
Guest guest Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Well said . I've been on this forum for months and every once in awhile there seems to be this flurry of feathers as someone attacks Duncan. I agree with you that Duncan's knowledge has been very helpful - it is quite obvious that he is in the profession he is in because he cares - he genuinely wants to help people get better. And yes, he has products to sell but he backs those products up with scientific evidence. And no one is under any obligation to purchase from him - he's anything but pushy. The products he sells can also be purchased elsewhere. I like your Option #4. Can we just get back to helping one another and stop the petty stuff. This is such a wonderful forum for learning and I'd hate to see it deteriorate. The interesting concepts about what to eat, when to eat, and when to sleep are explained more fully in Brad King's book " Fat Wars " which, unlike its name is really a primer on controlling the body's healing processes and metabolic rate. I summarize his book in four " Fat Wars " articles posted on: http://zeek.ca/4u/topics.php?op=viewtopic & topic=9 Brad is a clinical nutritionist who trains olympic athletes and fat peopla alike; he is a very sough-after speaker in North America, and the author of several books. I am impressed with his complimentary approaches, which include detox, HGH balance, and the metabolic control rather than starvation diet approach to losing weight. He explains the reason for using high- alpha whey (cold-processed) and uses it AND SomaLife gHP to increase HGH to youthful values to speed healing and regeneration of organs tissues and bones. www.fatwars.com regards, Duncan Crow Quote
Guest guest Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 The most important part of the " moritz prototcal " for a lack of a better word, is how he explains in simple terms the cause and effect. he takes the mystery out of recovering health. he empowers the reader rather than making them feel like you need science background to figure something out. because the goal is simple, teach you to heal yourself. Anytime I read posts that are supposedly " helpful " but are vague and filled with alot of jingo, jargon and unecessarily complex verbiage, it sends a red flag to me. its not necessary, why do it? > > Just a reminder - the liver flushes are just a part of what many of > > us are doing as part of s Moritz protocol. Thing is , that everyone has an opinion. Following someone's belief system, which may not be based in science, without checking into the facts, allows you to make unnecessary mistakes that you might not otherwise make. Again, the ADA recommends exactly the reverse of a good diabetic diet for example. This organization is instrumental in killing tens of thousands of people, yet people follow their advice because they think it's coming from a knowledgeable source. > > Anytime I read posts that are supposedly " helpful " but are vague and > filled with alot of jingo, jargon and unecessarily complex verbiage, > it sends a red flag to me. its not necessary, why do it? I'm anything but vague, , although I agree the jargon could be a problem to some. I could take your hint and make my replies simpler I suppose. I address the question, " How the heck did he arive at that crackpot opinion " before you even ask it, and I make the posts fairly detailed precisely because detail IS appreciated by the majority, who are reluctant to follow another's say-so without reading how they arrived at it. regards, Duncan Crow Quote
