, from what I've read " 's Syndrome " is the result of a deficit in the

enzyme that converts T4 to T3, which is thought to be brought on by physical or

mental stress. It is actually considered as a form of post-traumatic stress.

It is recommended that the treatment of high doses of T3 be closely monitored by

watching the Basal temp., monitoring thyroid function and through clinical

assessment. The books recommends taking T3 along with an antidepressant to

alleviate the symptoms.

So you could have a normal TSH level, but your body would not be converting T4

to T3 properly. So it should show up as low T3 level. At least that is my

understanding

RE: T3 treatment, was Intro.

I feel I may have this, as I have all the symptoms of HYpo but my blood tests

are fine. Would this show up on a blood test as a low T3 level ? Or can you

still have these feelings with normal range blood test.

hi ,

thanks for replying. This is my big problem My TSh T4 and t3 levels are all fine

but I get these cramps in My neck and calves and feel very cold and tired.

Through the night I sweat but then all day I feel cold.

I have put on a lot of weight that wont shift. I was wondering with all my blood

looking normal can you still have these symptoms are should I look at something

else.

I was going to see another Dr and asked to try this to se if its works. I have

tried Armour but as I live in the UK its difficult to obtain and I dont want to

get use to something that may be banned in the future. Also on I grain my T4

was fine but my t3 went to 11.5 and I felt short of breath.

Any comment I would appreciate.

Hi Kristi

I just found this group and is overwhelmed with all the information. I have

always felt that filling our little precious ones with all kinds off

vaccines cannot possibly be a good thing, it just never made sense to me.

But not wanting to do the " wrong thing " , I did vaccinate my son according to

schedule, the only one I said NO to is Hep B, I don't know why, but that one

did not make sense to me at all. My son is now almost 2 years old and due

for his 2 year check up and my question is; is there any dangers in

interupting the schedule of vaccinations at this point? There are a few I

might continue with like polio, but I really don't believe he needs to have

all that crap squirted in to his little body!

I don't know if you have this information, I was just reading your email and

you seemed to be very informed and with 7 children you ARE an authority in

my book! I am grateful for any info.

Another question, you being a midwife, did you have hospital or home births?

I had my son at the hospital, it was a normal -ok birth but very hospital

like, so the next one I am seriously considering having at home.

Have a great day!

Petra

Hi ,

Welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place to learn about all

three implants. So many of us have had the unexplained hearing loss later in

life but the Ci is really a miracle. If it's ok with you I'm going to send you

my CI journal so that you can read about what I went through. It was hard at

the beginning but the eventual rewards were well worth it ten fold!

Welcome.

I think the ci will really help ease up things in the hearing world

and you are wise to research all 3 companies. Feel free to ask any

questions and I'm sure someone on the forum will have an answer for

you.

Glad to see you come out of lurk mode and to see that you are finding

helpful information.

What a great name (I named my youngest child ) and a beautiful

introdution. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us the

story of your hearing loss history. I'm sure that seeing older

members of your family struggle less with hearing issues than you is

difficult but after reading your post, I realized that you have a

very positive attitude and I am sure you are going to come out

victorious.

I'm very happy read that this list has been a good source for you as

you are learning and making decisions for yourself. We will do our

best to continue to be that kind of support for you. Never think

that there is a question you can't ask because that is the only way

you are going to feel that you have all the information you need.

Good luck as you go forward with your quest for better hearing and

welcome to the list.

Bobbi,

I will try to do a search on the internet and see if I can find the entire poem. I first saw it in my childbirth classes when I was pregnant with my daughter. I've seen it in stores a time or two since then. I had intended to buy it and have it framed when my daughter was a baby, but we were living on a pretty tight budget back then so I never got around to it. I would like to find the complete poem and do something special with it when my daughter and stepdaughter get pregnant with their first babies. No time soon, mind you! :) Although, if Nikki had her choice, she'd have gotten married a couple of years ago and already have a little one. However, she knows that's not what would be best for the children, so she and waited until the time was more right for them to get married. They'll probably wait until they've been married about 3 years to begin their family, but as we know, sometimes God has other plans! However, as much trouble as I had getting pregnant with Nikki, I think it's pretty unlikely that Nikki will get pregnant before they actually begin trying to have a baby. I just hope that when they are ready, she doesn't have to go through several years of trying like I did. Of course, it may have just been God looking out for me. I was very young when Nikki's father and I married. I had just turned 16 and he had just turned 18. We began trying to have a baby right away, but it took over 4 years and the help of an infertility specialist for me to get pregnant with Nikki. She was born just a few weeks before our 4th wedding anniversary. However, it was probably for the best because I'm sure I was a better mother at 21 than I could have been at 16 or 17. It's funny how things tend to work out for the best in the end.

If I can find the entire poem, I'll send it to you.

Take care,

HI Bobbi and Karan

I loved the poem I checked on the internet and found this one it is not exactly the same but it is great.

Take Care

in Montreal

Come in, but don't expect to find All dishes done, all floors ashine. Observe the crumgs and toys galore. The smudgy prints upon the door. The little ones we shelter here Don't thrive on a spotless atmosphere. They're more inclined to disarray And carefree even messy play. Their needs are great, their patience small. All day I'm at their beck and call. It's Mommy come! Mommy see! Wiggly worms and red scraped knee. Painted pictures, blocks piled high. My floors unshined, the days go by. Some future day they'll flee this nest, And I at last will have a rest! Now you tell me which matters more, A happy child or a polished floor?...Author Unknown Weston <karenw@...> wrote:

I have two poems - one is on a placgue given to me from my mom and

the second is on a cross stitch given to me done by my mom.

#1 - Rockabye baby

Cleaning and scrubbing

can wait til tomorrow

For babies grow up

we've learned to our sorrow

So quiet down cobwebs

Dust go to sleep

I'm rocking my baby

And babies don't keep. (signed Lyn)

the cross stitch has no title

Some houses try to hide the fact

that children shelter there;

Ours boasts it quite openly...

the signes are everywhere.

For smears on the windows,

little smudges on the door;

I should apologize I guess

for toys strewn on the floor,

But I sat down with the children

and played, laughed and read,

And if the doorbell doesn't shine,

their eyes will shine instead,

For when I'm forced to choose

the one job or the other,

It's good to be a housewife

but I'd rather be a mother!!

Cora

I also have a great one for dads if anyone is interested

My son is almost 100% after suffering major vaccine damage. I've also been recovering myself and am almost 100% after suffering vaccine damage that led to a burst appendix. We use rejuvedine and another tri-iodine liquid from Metabolics with great success. Looking forward to picking up more tidbits on iodine info.

Hi All,

I am new to the group. Grandmother of a 13yr boy. Is there anyone in

the group from Pa. Erie County. Grandson has aspergers, he might be

coming to live with me and we need to find him a doctor that has the

knowledge of aspergers. Not sure where to turn at this time.

Help if you can. Would appriciate any advice.

Cin

Hi Cin, a did a search on autism, your county and Pa. and came up with a

number of possibilities for information. Do this search and down near

the bottom of page one is a site MAAP with a lot of information. Also, I

noticed Penn. State had a large summer conference with a number of well

known speakers on the subject. There may be someone at Penn. State to

give you some ideas. I would start with MAAP, they listed many support

groups in your area, which might be a good place to start. Welcome, Gail

how far are you from Philadelphia? make sure you research the

http://www.udel.edu/bkirby/asperger/ it has listings by state for

services, schools, and other helps too also that book the Oasis guide is

very useful. if you don't have one get your library to get it for you.

it has the best letter templates you can use for schools, insurance

issues, etc...

we just moved from land and I used to drive to Philly to get social

skills for my ds.

good luck

Hi Cin,

I'm an adult on the autism spectrum living in State College in Centre

County, PA. I study information sciences and technology in a doctoral

program at Penn State. I'm also the vice president of a new nonprofit

advocacy organization for autism called the Autistic Self-Advocacy

Network (www.autisticadvocacy.org). We're a collaborative effort among

adults on the autism spectrum, educators and other professionals,

parents and family members, and other individuals passionate about

autism advocacy.

There are a few organizations near Erie County that I can recommend to

help you with finding a doctor in Erie County who has knowledge of

Asperger's Syndrome:

-The Northwest PA chapter of the Autism Society of America. Their

website is located at <http://www.nwpa-asa.org/>.

-The Crawford County autism support group (http://www.nwpa-autism.org/).

The group is located not far from Erie County. Their meetings are held

on the third Thursday of each month in Meadville, PA. Their website has

more information on the meetings.

-ABOARD, the Pittsburgh-based autism advocacy organization that serves

western and central PA. Their website is http://www.aboard.org

I'm happy to chat with you via email off list about my own experiences

and answer any questions you have in finding help/support. Good luck.

Hi Jenn,

Lyme loves the bladder. It is possible you did not have a standard e-

coli bladder infection (test results?). If the tests were negative

it could very well be lyme & company living in there. This symptom

is not often on lyme symptom lists but it is very common among lyme

sufferers. Bladder problems have been my worst lyme problem. It

still cycles but never to the degree as when this first started 3

years ago.

Hi Jenn,

Yeah Lyme can due all that, I remember the nausea all too well when I first

got sick, it almost felt like the morning sickness kind of nausea. Lyme

germs like to live in all the strange places, like the lining of your bladder or

intestines, besides of course the nerves, muscles and joint linings. The do

not like liquid, they like to live in semisolid areas of your body. What

kind of treatment are you receiving now?
