Thanks so much for the information about toxidiity in natural products. You

mentioned a product called Mannatech. Could you please send more info or a

website, etc. to read about it?

I don't take any other medications but also I don't want something that could

harm me either. What products did you take for your candida?

thanks

I went back over the posts on candida after realizing the acidophilis quit

working after six days and got very interested in the rotation program. As I

stated in an earlier post I am now taking the yeast cleans for four days and

then switching to another one and so on.

I asked my doctor for a test for candida over six months ago and she said

there isn't one. Are you seeing a regular doctor or a specialist?

I would like to learn more about the tests to see how I am doing on the

program. I am also very concerned it is in my blood also and have to admit

this does scare me a little. Having tests to verify my progess would give me

a lot of peace of mind.

Thanks again for your time and info

There was a study done by a leading immunologist, Dr. Darryl See, M.D. when

he was at the University of California, IRVINE--over a 6 year period he

tested over 200 ingredients and popular supplement products for 6 different

categories. Three were for toxicity and drug interactions and 3 were for

natural killer cell function, anti-viral and antioxidant function.

The study was published by the American Nutraceutical Association in Jan of

1999--I had to opportunity to hear this Doctor speak and visit with him and

he had lots of information. He has a website about his anti-aging book just

out--I'll try to locate it and send it to you. I know he was very concerned

about the colloidal mineral and silver products because there is so much bad

stuff out there, even being made out of coins and stuff-he was very

cautious. The flavanoids he names are pycnogenols, pine bark extracts,

grape seed and grapefruit see extracts, noni juice, OPCs etc. He said these

could have drug interactions that could be very harmful--

The antioxidants he tested with no side effects were garlic extract,

Mannatech's Ambrotose and Phytaloe and the Manapol aloe that is in the

Mannatech products. By the way, he had never heard of Mannatech when he

started this study in 1992. Mannatech didn't have Ambrotose until 1996.

these products also tested highest in the natural killer cell function and

anti viral and anti fungal.

I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and of course after being on so many

antibiotics, lots of candida was evident.

I have an ileostomy from ulcerative colitus which started this whole mess 12

years ago, so I have no large intestine.

I take a lot of DDS Acidophilus by UAS brand (I get it at my healthfood

coop) and I take the Ambrotose (which helps the body's cell to cell

communication. It also has been shown to have a good kill rate with yeast.

I also take the phytonutrients called Phytaloe since I can't digest raw

foods because of my new-style plumbing (the food goes through my system in

about an hour to 2 hours and raw food can't be absorbed in that time.) I

also take a product called Plus which supports the function on my entire

endrocine system. My adrenal and thyroid function has been messed up

because of the massive prednisone therapy for the ulcerative colitus. So

that helps my body produce the right hormones by providing it with the

nutrients that act as the raw material for the body to use to make the 80

some hormones it makes. I don't take estrogen or thyroid now and do

wonderfully.

The products working on the candida was a great side benefit, because once

my body;s immune systems beganto function more normally, it can work on

eliminating the yeast. I have had periods of time where the yeast actually

came out through my skin. I developed several spots, some the size of an

orange that itched and was annoying, but after a couple of weeks just went

away. While they were active I had my doctor culture them, because he

thought it was an active yeast outbreak, but the cultures did not grow--the

yeast was dead and was just my body getting rid of it through the skin. I

have a massage therapist, and during these times--no rhyme or reason that

they break out, I'll go in and have her use her steam table to help my body

cleanse more effectively. I also bathe in hot water with a bottle of 3%

hydrogen peroxide added to it, which also helps get the stuff out beneath

the skin.

I also religiously drink distilled water. The old myths that it is dead

water and harmful are just that. There is so much junk, including residual

prescription drugs in our drinking water, even with reverse osmosis, we

drink more of it than we should. Those toxins also kill the good bacteria

in our systems. By using the distilled water, and taking a lot of

acidophilus to help re-colonize my GI tract with good bacteria, along with

the Mannatech products, I just don't have anymore symptoms of candida and I

didn't have to jump through a lot of dietary hoops and weird things. I

maintain a low glycemic diet, because I am finally getting rid of the fat

the prednisone put on my body--and the low glycemic is the only thing that

has worked for me in 12 years of dieting. I avoid any processed and box mix

foods, frozen dinners etc. I also avoid MSG like the plague. It is so

abundant in everything--all seasoning, sauces, gravies, breading coatings,

soups, etc. They hide it now under the term " natural flavorings "

Sites you might want to visit for information.

Drugs in Our Drinking Water <www.nugentreport.com>

<www.mannapages.com/addesign> my website about Mannatech products

<www.glycoscience.com> is now under construction, but you can visit the site

and see what kinds of things they will be having.

If you need more information--email me. I'd be happy to send you a copy of

the research done on candida and Ambrotose.

I eat lots of protein, most raw veggies, (even though they don't digest,

they give my mouth something to do and they taste good) like broccoli,

celery, radishes, green peas, and steamed green beans. sometimes I will

have corn or red potatoes or sweet potatoes. I usually have at least one

slice of organic whole wheat (I grind the wheat fresh) bread, or make it

into little mini buns and have a sandwich with that each day. I also get a

sprouted grain bread called Ezekiel Bread that is much higher protein than

regular bread. I can eat good cheese ( I also get the organic cheese from my

food coop which is from cows who aren't treated with hormones and

antibiotics) ,peanut butter (organic) peanuts, almonds, walnuts, steel cut

rolled oats, whole wheat pasta (not overcooked). I am allergic to fruit

pectin, so I don't have fruits in my diet--I just get the phytonutrients

from them in the Phytaloe. I do get some wonderful vegetable juice called

Very Veggie (also from my food coop-but they have it at most health food

stores) that puts V-8 to shame. I have to take extra foodform vitamin C

(this is not ascorbic acid, but full food matrix vitamin C from Citrus

extracts) and i also take additional foodform minerals (also taken from food

instead of inorganic rocks and chemicals) because I can't get much from the

food. I also have a soy intolerance so I have to eat real butter and eggs,

and I use a whey milk and whey protein powder to cook with. I can have

occasional good ice cream (the stuff made with real milk, eggs, cream, etc.)

I have become an avid label reader and find it only takes me about 15

minutes to grocery shop because I don't buy most of what is in the store. I

can have thin crust pizza loaded with meat and cheese--what fun! I just

make sure I eat until I am almost, but not quite, full.

For the first time in many years I feel like I am free of the bondage of

food addictions and sugar--which I know made my immune system worse.

Rarely, I will have a Coke or Root Beer (if I am somewhere that the water is

rank and from the tap, like a restaurant)

I feel incredible and am out enjoying life and sharing what I have found

with others who need to know about it. I will drive 2 hours tomorrow to do

an educational meeting about the research with Mannatech. I just got back

from a week training trip through Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.

I listen to my body when it says it is tired, and rest, then get up rarin'

to go again.

Here are a couple of sites for Dr. See. I am having trouble locating all my

archives. Lightning hit our house and killed my computer a while back and I

have lost a lot of my files. I'll keep looking.

You can go to MedLine at <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/> to find all

of

Dr. See's articles. Just enter " See DM " in the search field or you can go

directly to the article below.

I have used Mannatech products but guess I didn't stay on them long enough

to make a difference. Didn't realize ambertose would help candida. Maybe I

need to try it again.

Edith

PS I'm happy for your new life.

I listen to my body when it says it is tired, and rest, then get up rarin'

to go again.

It takes a while--and for Heaven sake--get your upline to help you

understand what a wonderful thing you have! The bulk Ambrotose is very cost

effective and should be used liberally. The study that is in the Proceedings

(the blue one) indicates that the kill rate is greater with increased amount

of Ambrotose. (To avoid toxic problems during the kill, Manna Cleanse,

additional Acidophilus and peroxide baths can help)

If you truly understand what you have for immune support with Mannatech, you

will never be without it. Good luck and happy hunting! (yeast that is!)

Edith,

I tried the Mannatech product as well and didn't experience any relief. I

can recommend d-LENOLATE olive leaf extract. I believe that my candida is

gone or almost gone after four months of 4-6 capsules a day. You can find

lots of information at www.otrecure.com There is a book by Dr. Morton

on olive leaf extract you should read that is filled with case studies and

testimonials.

Hope you find this helpful.

Not only does Ezekiel Bread have more protein than regular bread, but my

naturopath said that your body treats the sprouted wheat differently than it

does regular wheat. It's better for a person with candidiasis than whole wheat

bread. On a side note, it tastes really good when you put it in the

microwave--yum yum!

Yes Yes, and it is great toasted! Very crunchy and so good for you.

Because the flour in it is actually made from the sprouted grains which are

dried and then ground into flour, the whole composition of the bread

metabolism is different and is processed without stimulating the insulin.

Bulk Ambertose was what I was using but never thought it was very cost

$100 a whack.

Lauri

I don't know that much about it but I do know that several women in our benzo

group have candida while or after going through withdrawal from klonopin,

xanax, etc.

While I was in withdrawal I wound up having one yeast infection after another

plus low blood sugar problems and sugar cravings. Some benzo symptoms

overlap with candida symptoms so we are thinking there is something there.

Hope this helps a little

,

I did not know there was a connection between yeast and klonopin. I have

been fighting yeast, but also take the klonopin for anxiety. Am I defeating

my purpose?

It is the equivalent of 10 bottles of capsules. The bulk allows you to take

more of it to get your system in balance sooner. How much does it cost to

take things that won't work? Of things that have harmful side affects?

Ambrotose does so much more for your body and there is nothing, absolutely

nothing else like it anywhere! To correct health problems, we have to start

at the cell level. Everything else is just another bandaid. When we

correct the cell to cell communication and enable the body to do what it was

intended to do--it is capable of all the healing--nothing out there will

cause your body to heal. Only it can do it. When we give it the raw

materials to do what it needs to do, it is divinely designed to do that.

If you got the bulk on an auto order you save an additional 10%.

Just to add to what has said:

What is the real cost of free illness? Is free sickness a bargain, just

because it's free?

Hey Jon,

As far as returning back to " normal, " that totally varies with each person,

method of treatment, and severity of the candidiasis. It has taken me a lot

longer (what am I saying, I'm still in the process) to recover than my ND

thought because I have more candida than he thought I did and my body is so

sensitive that I have to go about things slowly...if I kill the yeast too

quickly I get WAY too sick from the die-off...I can't even function.

As for the pizza--many chains like Papa Gino's and Pizza Hut use MSG and

other additives that your body doesn't like, especially those with candida

and/or allergies. The pizza made from local places is fresher (is that a

word?). Good luck with everything!
