I will say an extra prayer for you this weekend. I say a prayer for all

of us every night and I know that someday our prayers will be answered.

Hope all goes well. Let us know.

Hi ,

Good luck you have my prayers, as does everyone on this list. How long

will you be gone? I hope you see this before you go. Do you have a place

to stay? As for posting, there is no need to go to the member center, ever,

unless you want to search the archives, and I haven't been able to do that

yet myself! All you have to do is hit the reply button on your mail program

when you are reading the post you want to respond to. If you want to post a

new message, just address it to Lyme-aidonelist.

Thanks Marta,

I am leaving tomorrow. I feel horrible and am dreading the trip. But

hopefully good things wwill come out of it. My doctor just put me back on

Mephron for the sweats and creepy crawling sensations all over my body.

They drive me nuts. I get these crawling feelings all over. They raise up

on my skin in patches. They look like goose bumps but in all different

places about the size of a nickles. It make me very worried that this is a

symptom other than lyme. Trying to get a skin test to see if it will whow

them anything.......Plus I hae streaks of rash on my body where ever my skin

touchs together and gets warm........I just worry that I have something

else, even though I have all of the lyme symptoms. And to top it all off, I

a have been bed ridden since they took away my I.V. Other than that , I am

haing a GREAT day....haaa. Love G.

Hi ,

I tested positive for HME. Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis, and had a lot

of skin symptoms itching, patches of rashes, etc. Were you ever tested for

that? I know that the only cure for that is doxycycline, have you been on

that? I sure hope the HBO treatment is helpful to you, I don't know many

people who have done this, so I can't give you any advice. Make sure you

tell them of all the meds you are on, let us know when you get back.....how

long will you be gone, should I put you on no mail status?

Hi . I'm new to the group, but wanted to let you know that I had those

bumps all over my hands after my initial bite 12 years ago. No one new what

they were, including me since we didn't know anything about Lyme in

Rochester, NY, but I was treated with a 10 day course of antibiotics and

predisone. I get them again now when I have a Herx. I also had a terrible

time with the rash you speak about, although I have less and less trouble

with it since I have been treated for yeast. Are you on any yeast treatment?

Peace, Helen

No disrespect to God, but I cannot wait till I leave this life and he

reveals to me what HE was thinking when HE created ticks. I am sure HE had

a good reason....one of life's great mysteries to me.

I guess that is a point. Never thought of it that way.

I guess while we are asking Him questions we could ask why He created

Ins. Cos. and egotistical docs too.

LOL. Would love to know the answer to that one!

Take care

Hi ,

HME, Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis is a tick disease, a rickettsia, not a

spirochete, it can be fatal if untreated. The treatment is doxycycline. The

rickettsia eat your white blood cells. I was notified by the State of NJ

Dept of Health, that I tested positive for that. My doctor thought I had

HGE too, which is another tick disease, Human Granulocytic Ehrlichiosis.

(Hope my spelling is right.) There are many tick diseases that you can get

from the bite of one tick, Babesia, Rocky Mountain Spotted fever and

Tularemia...again not sure of spelling. Forschner covers all of them

in her book, " Everything you Need to Know about Lyme disease and other tick

borne diseases, " This book is a must have for anyone with Lyme disease.

I am doing the up and down thing right now. It is my 3rd week of the IV

Rocephin and I have a few good days followed by a few really bad ones.

When I first started it the pain in my back and knees went away almost

completely. That has returned and is going full tilt right now. Also

the fatigue is better for a day or so and then I can hardly get out of

bed for the next 2. Really feel like a yo-yo. How are you doing?

L >>

, You could be my clone by that discription. I have pretty much the exact

same life right now. The fevers for the most part have subsided they go up to

99 usually at night. I feel pretty good for a day or two, even have my wits

about me and everything and then boom I am exhausted with headaches and

feeling lousy for a few days. It is totally weird. If I take a hot bath I am

completely wiped out for the whole day. don't know if it is a good thing or a

bad thing. I also noticed if I drink hot tea that my headaches get really bad

and I am in a lot of pain. Dont know what that is either. A common symptom I

have is getting itching only on my thighs that lasts for about an hour and

comes every three weeks or so. Yesterday it was itching like crazy and I got

these small patches of red bumbs on my legs and little bruises. I can't even

think to analyse it anymore I just look to God for support and help. I need

the energy source of a much higher power to get through this. I am in my

fifth week of IV and my third week of Mepron/Zithro so I don't even know what

is doing what if anything is working at all. LOL Oh I forgot were you ever

tested for babesia? Hope you are feeling better keep me posted God Bless You!

Its really hard to say how long Ive had Lyme. I was treated back in

1994 after a rash on my leg and severe joint pain as well as fatigue

and flu symptoms. The ID doc that treated me that time gave me a months

worth of Doxy and when all the sympotoms went away in that time said I

was " cured " . So now I dont know if it is a reoccurance from 94 or a

reinfection from July of 98 when I had a rash on my neck and then

developed all of my current symptoms. My LLD thinks it is a reinfection

and that what I had in 94 was possibly something different or I was

treated early enough that that is why my symptoms resolved so fast. I

didnt start treatment this time until May of this yaer so it was almost

a year of letting things get worse and now its that much harder to

treat. By the way the same ID guy I saw in 94 told me that it wasnt

Lyme this time and sent me on my way to U of MI where they really blew

it.

How about you? How long have you had it and how long did it take to get

a dx?

Hi Val, I'm new to Lyme-aid, tho I post and read sci.med. and lymenet

ngs. My sister (w/Lyme) has terrible headaches...I'm going to tell her

about the fan/ac idea. I'm also on IVs (starting my 13th week). Most

of my physical stuff resolved on orals - low doses at that. My

psychiatric symptoms were for the first 10 weeks worse then before IVs,

tho my sleep disorder (couldn't sleep for long) resolved and most of my

tingling, numb and twitching has resolved on IV, too. It wasn't til

about the 11th week that the psychiatric (depression, mental agitation

and mild anxiety) noticeably improved. I'm on these IVs for the long

haul. Nice to meet you, Judy - noah@...

, did all of your symptoms stay away from 94-98? If so, i would think tht

this is a new infection based on you rash in 98. If you stayed symptoms free

for four years chances are you were luckily cured the first time. I can't

believe you couldn't get treated even with the rash by the same doc who once

treated you befor. tht is insane.

I have had Lyme since 93. I went for 8 months of different doctors before

getting a diagnosis. I went on IV therapy (Rocephin) and got 90% better and

went back to college thinking everything would be fine. I relapsed again in

94 went on bicilliln shots got better once again. I relapsed again about once

every year but always got better within a month and was fine. Unfortunately

this last relapse in july of 98 has put me out and I still can't get control

of it. I have been on so many things since last year and nothing seems to be

taking care of it. I was on bicillin shots before this IV and was about

50-70% better depending on the day. With this IV I am so much worse. I am

also on Mepron/Zithro now for the babesia and that isn't doing anything

either. However it is strange that every other time I improved I never had a

classic herx reaction. This time I have gotten worse and had fevers and

chills and stuff but it isn't consistent and it isn't getting better. I don't

know what to think anymore but I continue to search for answers everyday.

feel better-Val

Hi Judy,

Welcome to the list, so glad you found us. I am so happy you are doing

well on the IV. Looking forward to hearing more about your treatment and

Lyme history, sad to hear your sister has Lyme too, but at least you can

commiserate with each other, not all family members can understand what we

go through, hope the headache remedy works for her.

Hugs,

Marta
