Hi a,

I love what you wrote about WC. I didn't think of that, I guess I am not

one of

their favorite people. But it was funny what you wrote. I see the Rheumy on

July

11, so I know he will help me. Yesterday, I drank or tried too to drink Ensure.

I

will never do that again. I thought maybe enough time had gone by and I could

tolerate it. I will never do that again. I spent the entire day on the couch

sick. I guess it is too heavy and I will never be able to drink it. I really

think

the best think for my neck is to do nothing and leave it alone. However, I will

go

to the next five therapies in the pool and than see what the doctor says. I am

going to try out LA Fitness with my daughter. When she joined they gave me a

three

day pass, so I want to try their pool. Also the therapist told me to try the

stationary bike. To go slow and it may help my hips. So I will give it a try.

Well at least it is a little cooler today. Laurie needs to buy a car so we are

going to go and look at cars and when she figures out what she wants, the boys

will

take over. This is something I can not help her with so it is on the boys. The

truth be known though they would be upset if she bought anything without one of

them. Now Cherylynn has to get a car too but she won't be picky like Laurie

will

be. Hope you have a nice pain free saturday.

Hugs,

June-

As Deb's notes in her greeting, " Happy Canada Day! " Good

to hear from you. Had a rough winter- kidney stones and

pneumonia - but missed everyone here. Work has been a

bear too....I think I work for the med insurance and

they are even playing with that. Now that it is summer

will probably get into Canada some- at least Stratford

and Sarnia. Refresh my memory- are you from near Toronto?

As for vanity---I have always been a shoe fanatic---as

many as I own nothing seems to fit in this

weather...vanity is kind of out the door LOL

Big hugs,

Congratulations slugger! Better watch out or the big leagues will be

hunting you down!

Glad you had a nice day for your family reunion. I hope your aches and

pains go away quickly.

Lynn,

Glad I could make you smile. You have to do what¹s good for YOU, not what

WC says is

good for you. Right now they are licking their wounds, so hopefully they

will leave you alone.

Sorry about the ensure. It¹s got to be rough having such a limited diet. I

have a very limited diet,

but it¹s by choice. I hope LA fitness knows how to deal with people with

diseases like RA. I went to a gym

and had a ³personal trainer² that like to kill me. Never again! Just be

careful please! The stationary bike

was good for me, and so was the pool but besides that nadda.

I hope you have a painfree holiday. Good luck with car shopping.

I had nodules early on in my illness (about 25 years ago), but they went away

once we got the RA under control. When MTX stopped working for me a few years

ago, I got new nodules on my left hand. My RA is now under control with Enbrel

and they have all disappeared.

n

[ ] nodules

Has anyone developed RA nodules and later had them shrink or go

away? I see new ones developing on my feet and fingers and hope they

don't get the size of two of my first ones near my elbows. I take

methotrexate injections, folic acid, and salsalate now. Would a

change of meds make a difference? BettyMO

Betty, sometimes MTX can be responsible for new nodules. There is a

phenomenon termed " methotrexate nodulosis. "

There have been several stories here in the group about regression of the

nodules (either from the RA itself or from RA + MTX) with the right

treatment.

This is something you should discuss with your physician.

I'll tell you where to go!

Betty, I had nodules on my elbows, but they disappeared sometime after

I started Enbrel.

Just recently I've noticed a possible nodule on the middle knuckle of

my right index finger. It looks like a callous, but I haven't done

anything to cause a callous there. It doesn't feel hard and bony like

the ones on my elbows did. I think I've read that methotrexate can

sometimes cause nodules. You should discuss it with your rheumy.

I agree with Sue- you should discuss with your doc. My nodules- elbows too- went

away with Remicade.

I also have had nodules disappear on my arms where I would rest them

on a desk when working. The ones on hands and feet had to be removed

surgically and have been removed several times and I have about 10 on

my feet right now that will eventually need to be removed. Just went

through that less than a year ago on left foot and the dr miss one on

my heel. At some point it will have to go. Right now my main concern

are my artifical joints in my hands. Really flared up. On a dose pack

of predisone and pain meds. My Remicade infusion isn't until Feb 24.

Hope it does some good this time dr uping the dose.

P.S. gina still trying to figure out the way these messages work any

hints I feel like I am missing some because there are so many to read.

Is there a way of marking the messages I want to follow?

Well, Judi, you are a unique and rare individual! Besides which, you

have a unique and rare disease. You will have to find a way to

publicize it. You are such a good writer, you could write an article

about it and send it to magazines to see if one would publish it. You

must let me share in the royalties, since I suggested the idea, LOL.

You sure it's nodules and not a pilonidal cyst? Pilonidal cysts are very

common cysts that form in the tailbone area. I had a very large one a long time

ago. It kept getting infected, bursting, then filling up again, over and over

again. Each time, it got bigger than the time before. I finally had surgery to

remove it. The surgery wasn't fun. The recovery time was long. My surgeon said

it was the biggest one he'd ever seen. The upside was that he did a great job

and it's not returned since. If that's what it is and it doesn't stay healed,

I'd see a surgeon.

I had a strange thing happen with the nodule next to my elbow. A few weeks ago it started to swell from it's marble size to about golf ball size and it got hot and red. Then that gradually subsided and it's been getting smaller. It's less than pea sized now. Has anyone else had this happen? The ones above my ankles haven't changed at all. Just curious. Hi Kathy,

I have had nodules since I was a teen. I have several on my hand, knuckles,

elbows and one on my knee and one on the inside of my index finger (it's my

largest and most annoying). I think I have one coming on my toe. They haven't

gone away, some shrink a little.

How common are the Rheumatoid nodules? I have them on both forearms

and hands. Do they ever go away? I walked into a nest of ground

yellowjackets over the weekend and got stung 10-15 times. On one

elbow where I was stung, I now have a new nodule. Today both ankles

and feet are swelled up badly. So...If you're thinking of trying

the " Bea Sting Therapy " ....Don't! (Just kidding!)
