You guys just put an extrodianary stadium up out there.. swimming pool and all. Denvers doing the same although ours does not have all the fills..... Re: [ ] Fwd: THis a Picture of my Midget If my chose is between the NFL & my NASCAR, NASCAR wins hands down. Susy would pick her D-backs over NASCAR, But when the game is over she would watch what is left of the race. The county is building the Red Birds their own Stadum about 5 miles from the house "They will break ground this fall" at the cost of $350,000,000 to the county tax payers plus the city of Glendale tax payers are paying several more million. I thought they should of put a few millon in Sun Deval stadum. Now the State is saying they are going to spend several million on updating ASU's stadum on top of building on for the losing Red Birds. In the last ten years the tax payer's have built the D-Backs $300,000,000 & Phoenix Sun's stadum's $275,000,000, they have alrady broke ground a new Hocky stadum at the cost of over $250,000,000 to the county tax payers plus several more millon to the tax payers on Glendale. I am getting tired of paying for stadums for billonair team oweners so that their millonair players can play. I will not even see $500,000 for a life time of work. I know what you mean. It kind of takes the enjoyment out of it if you have to do it every day for a living. I remember I had a friend who was a mechanic, he bought and restored cars and sold them. His wife was always complaining that he never fixed her car. After working on them all day, he never wanted to come home and work on her car. I was a bachelor until I was 28 and then again from 40-47, so I've had to learn to cook at least enough to keep myself alive, but it's usually fresh fruits/veggies or something that'll go in a microwave. -dz-

Terry Long wrote:

Dave I do 95% of the cooking here. Back in the mid 70's I was the night cook in a nursing home & was thinking about going to Chef-school. But I didn't like working weekends & holladays, so I decidded that was not the way to go. Now thinking about, I made the right move. As much as I enjoy cooking for family & friends, it is not the same as cooking for a living. Terry

We are still paying and the Bronco's are not owned by Denver. However I guess the city decided they didn't want to loose the Bronco's but also took on an Investor Invesco.... I'm not a football fan, but I was pretty surprised

the Texans won. There has been so much hoopla here

about them and they've looked pretty shabby. We have a

new baseball stadium and a new football stadium. They

didn't even fill the Astrodome, I don't know why we

needed new. Oh well.

I've been in the old Mile High Stadium a few times. I remember the rows were very steep. What have they done with it? They're still considering an investor to help pay off Lambeau too, but I hate to see them lose the name Lambeau Field. I guess money talks. -dz-

My dad was a union man too. He was the first union steward at his plant and he later joined management as a supervisor. They always held his union activities against him though. He was fired after 28 years when they came in and cleaned house. He took his next job and told me "I want nothing to do with the union and nothing to do with management, just let me do my job 'til I retire." That's kind of the way I feel. The union builders made great sacrifices to bring us better working conditions and wages in their early years, but corruption has creeped in there just as it is in management. Wherever there is money and power, corruption will find its way in. -dz-

The old Mile High is gone. Torn down and a parking lot . The new Mile High was built pretty much right next door to the old so the parking was needed and then some. ....... Sad actually. That is why I said, made in the USA. I remember several years ago there was a town in the mid-west that the passed a bill where the city only could buy cars & trucks that were made in the USA. The city passed on the Toyatas, they bought Dodges. They later found out that the Dodges were made in Canada & the Toyata's were made in the USA.
